This company in my opinion is really only good to work for if you are flexible enough to work any shift, otherwise you won't be allowed to get many hours. Management is very disorganized and seems to play favorites at times. This company will also hire anyone. I actually talked to a former cowoker who said he filled out an application and someone immediately came out and just took him in the back to start getting fitted for uniforms without any kind of actual interview. Since they hire almost anymone who walks in the door they always have issues with people calling off 30 minutes before the start of their shift, so if you're working a site where you're supposed to be getting relieved you have to always wait. A lot of people also walk out during the middle of their shift or also just never show up at all, it's really ridiculous. There are opportunities to advance within the company, and in my opionion they like to promote some people too soon, which doesn't give them enough time to adjust. If you decide to move up to something like an operations manager in this company just be prepared to never have any time to yourself because you'll be having to constantly cover shifts for guards that don't show up. Training sometimes is nonexistent since there is such a lack of managers to go around. If you're lucky you will get a site where you're relieving one of the few good seasoned guards who take their job seriously and train you correctly. The job itself isn't difficult at all but there were many things wrong with this company at the time of my employment it just wasn't worth staying anymore. Like I said before, this job is only good if you have absolutely nothing else going on for you at the moment becuase you will likely get called on your day off due to lazy coworkers who call out at the last minute or don't show up at all. A good company to get a little experience and money but  definitely not a good one to stay at long term.

I was started out at PSI as a regular posted guard. During my time at PSI, I was elevated to the position of flex guard and then to site supervisor.

I was only given proper training and preparation when I had become a supervisor. Even then, the trainer seemed to have their own standards for their work and did not have any written standards to go off of.

As far as the training for individual guards goes, I presume training is supposed to be given by site supervisors, however, this training was often not given by those supervisors. I believe this is due to corporate managers being so overworked that they have had to throw quality control by the wayside entirely.

Every single one of my coworkers were a delight to work with and speak to, besides the occasional bad apple.

As I said before, Corporate management was overworked, and, due to this, they were extremely difficult to speak to. Even though this was a constant struggle, when I was able to get in contact with them, they were always amicable and knowledgable on whatever you had to ask them.

Personally, as I worked my way closer towards the corporate end of things, I was expected to work overtime each week, usually 56 hours a week.

In summary, I do not believe that PSI is a bad company to work for as a normal guard however, the few weak spots that are apparent are extremely weak. 

Not a difficult job by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're looking for ANY kind of professionalism within the culture of the organization. I'm telling you now, LOOK ELSEWHERE.. This is not a company that PAYS fairly, schedules CONSIDERATELY, or HANDLES it's people appropriately. This is LITERALLY an ALL-CALL for warm bodies. They don't care about training, and I've seen guards "TRAIN" OTHER guards on their OWN second day.. The site hrs change randomly and you are expected to just adjust.. I was good with the changes up until this last time.. Honestly though, I've had enough and I just deserve better. I guess I just tried too hard for a job like this.. It seems like the LAZIEST people are the most beloved here at times. People regularly don't come on time, and they wear their uniforms dirty and smelly. I could NEVER.. It's lowkey a mess.. I was promoted to Site Supervisor and NEVER given any kind of raise. When I asked about it, I heard "I'll ask the big wigs and get back to you".. NOTHING after that. This job already DOESN'T pay much.. Now you want me to do more, with my hours upside down, for the same money?  I was a great lesson and I truly tried my best, but enough is ENOUGH. I'm putting in my 2weeks notice today. 

Absolutely horrible place for anyone looking for work. They mistreat employees by advancing others who they have personal relationships with. Then these individuals bully and control through intimidation and fear. When an employee speaks up to whistleblow, they are immediately let go with a bogus reason placed in their file even though the employee has documented evidence to the contrary. They will also state that an employee quit without notice so that they can reduce the pay down to minimum wage for all remaining checks which they should only be allowed to do it for the very last one. They pay two weeks behind so even though an employee may have gone the extra mile and worked crazy overtime in horrible working conditions, should they speak up, they will lose the pay that is rightfully theirs just so PSI can cover up their unethical practices. I absolutely would never recommend a client to seek services from PSI.

Overall, not an awful place to work. Your responsibilities at the job are not excessive, and you really only need to put as much effort as you want to. A supervisor may come and visit your job site every so often. However, management is hard to reach at times, and they tend to either be somewhat unprofessional, or overly professional given the job requirements. Company culture is almost non existent. The work/life balance was fantastic, usually only constituting of a few nights of work at the maximum, although the pay was rather low given the job requirements and hazards. 

If you're a college kid looking for a pretty low key source of income, this is a match. If you're looking for relevant security experience, this may not be for you.

It’s a pretty standard security company when you start out. Stick with it and work hard. Managers notice you if you put in the effort and you can advance fast. Higher-ups from corporate come by my site all the time just to say hi and see I how were doing. o we were reported our vehicle AC was broken and a few hours later a guy from corporate came out and gave us bunch of plug-in fans and a cooler with ice and sodas.  The mechanic was there the next day and fix the AC. They really care. Pay starts out not great depending on the site, but I took every shift I could get didn’t fall asleep on overnights and I got three raises so far. Seems like the company is growing quick to

The management SUCKED, half the time I worked there I didn’t have a supervisor nor could I even get the higher ups to communicate with any of our people. The pay was ridiculously low, with no benefits what do ever. I got pregnant during my employment and never received maternity uniform pants or even bigger shirts and pants. Staff couldn’t be kept. Replacement officers just wouldn’t show up at their shiftstart and I would be there long after my shift had ended. I got a break three times in a year. 

Psi and investigation  is not a company where u can grow  they don't have paid time off no vacation  days the pay is ok and if ur looking to stay in the same place all ur life then it's perfect  for you but for others no. There is no structure  the supervisors are all over the place  lack of employees  accounting sometimes has a problem  and you can't get paid . Would not suggest  to work for psi if your just started  doing security  or your comeing from another company no chance of growth no paid time off 

Tons of overtime hours available, friendly management, continually offered advancement opportunities.  It's locally owned and has been in business a long time. Great sites to work, professional appearance in everything that they do.  We get paid every week through direct deposit  or you can pick up your check or have it mailed.  I have not been on any sites that I would consider dangerous in any way, they leave that for the other companies.  If you are tired of the mega security companies and truly want to be a part of a professional company then apply here. Good Luck.
