Being employed at Pearl is a wonderful work experience.  From my first month working with the company, I felt I was part of a corporation that not only preached its core values but practiced it. Which I feel is a rare thing to experience from a corporation or an employee. It gives a nod and nostalgic feel to companies decades ago that knew each employee by name and management was just around the corner to give a helping hand.

As someone who lives with a disability, I can say that Pearl Interactives have been very accommodating a gracious when it comes to my schedule and time off needs. I have personally never worked for a company that seemed eager to assist me in any way possible when it came to making sure  I had the 'ability' to perform my job to the best of MY circumstances. 

As a work-from-home employee, I sometimes remember the potlucks and in-person team-building events. I like the balance between work and play at my job. There's always something going on: employee engagements, Kahoot, and an array of holiday-themed contests all keep the spark of team-building and engagement alight. 

However, the main reason, I love working at Pearl is I love the work that I do and the people that I work with. It is said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." I feel this way working with every temporary assignment I have with Pearl Interactives. Each job was in the health industry and they all were great companies to be placed at. 

My current job and management team are from Pearl and they are awesome. They really seem to take a grassroots approach to leadership. My job is very enjoyable and because of the positive feedback I have received, I strive to work hard to do my best. Management also encourages each and every one of us to flourish and be our best and attain our goals. 

Overall, Pearl Interactives is the best placement company I have worked for. Their show of integrity and compassion for their employees should be a model for other businesses to follow.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Leadership has been intentional about improving operations and creating new opportunities, so while there are short-term challenges, it feels like meaningful progress. If anything, the experience has pushed teams to communicate more, stay adaptable, and play an active role in shaping the company’s future.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is collaborative, forward-thinking, and genuinely inclusive of employee input. Overall, it’s an environment where employees feel valued, empowered, and motivated to make a meaningful impact.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Days often involve collaborating with team members, tackling projects, and finding ways to improve processes or outcomes. Because initiative is valued, there’s a lot of opportunity to take the lead on ideas and make a tangible impact. While expectations are high, the autonomy and trust create a motivating environment where you can be productive, grow professionally, and contribute in meaningful ways.

I have worked at a few BPO Call Centers in my day and Pearl is the best.  I've loved every aspect of working here and supporting the CQA Project in Tempe AZ.  

The Sr. Site Manager is one of the most intelligent, hard working and ethical people I've ever had the privilege to work for.  I can come to him at any time with a problem and not only will he help me work through the available options to arrive at a solution myself (instead of just handing me an answer), but he'll also help to form the business acumen and leadership chops to solve similar issues going forward using the same processes.  

I adore working with and respect each of of the 7 other Operations Managers and would trust all of them to not only help me with any work-related obligations but with any non-work issues as well. They're wonderful, supportive managers and excellent human beings.  

Lastly, the culture here at Pearl is about making sure that all of the employees want to come to work each day that they're scheduled and I feel that all levels of management accomplish this without missing a beat.  There are daily conversations between management on driving performance through the morale of the people who work here.  In my experience, similar types of conversations usually go the other way around - how can we hard-push for KPI results and somehow not have attrition through the roof?  At Pearl, the goal is keeping our people excited to come to the office and motivated to implement the feedback that will ultimately change behaviors to drive the results we're looking for.  

That's super special.  

The only aspect I enjoyed about this job was the training and dealing with TRICARE sponsors and their families. After our 90 days, supervisors pushed very unrealistic metrics, and even called you out in the group Teams chat when you went over your personal time by literally seconds, and they would log you out after 5 minutes. They even went so far as to deduct personal time from our weekly pay check. Using ACW was highly frowned upon--micromanagement was in full force no doubt! 

I was there for 7 months and twice we were not paid on time which is a Friday--we had to wait until Monday. I have NEVER experienced this EVER with any other job once, let alone TWICE! This is beyond unacceptable and their cavalier attitude in their emails explaining the issue was maddening. We were told we were being let go on 12-16-2024 and that 12-20-2024 was our last day---perfect timing right before the holidays!

Pay was low ($17.50), no PTO until after a year, and subpar health insurance to boot---would I recommend applying to Pearl Interactive Network? NOPE. But I would recommend applying to Humana Military who they were contracted with if you would like to help the population of individuals who have and are currently serving our country---it was because of them that I truly enjoyed this job.

Management has much to be desired and really needs to be educated on how you treat you loyal hard working employees. Stop paying so much attention to those you just hire seasonally and appreciate those who have given you so much of their time, skills and effort over years.
For the longest, Pearl was a place you would consider like a family, over the last year, so much as changed and they have lost that focus. They tout themselves with the following: Customer satisfaction, teamwork and family atmosphere, quality, respect, transparency and innovation. However, they fall VERY short in teamwork and family atmosphere, respect, innovation. They tend to very opaque.  They hide things that are so irrelevant to day to day employees. the only transparent employees are the supervisors, they are typically treated the worst. Classed as exempt salaried employees, however, offer no benefits as such. Most companies, if you miss a day of work and are salaried, you get paid, however, pearl will dock your pay for any time missed.

I would sit all day with back to back calls were I couldn’t even take a breath an had another one these people expect you to show up 30 mins or more early an not pay you for it but if you show up in time an something happens that isn’t your fault ur held accountable they talk to you like trash an you are always in a meeting getting reprimanded for stuff out you control like storms causing power outages.
what you believe you learned? How to be mistreated an become emotionless after a while.
management? The management needed more training bc they didn’t know what they were doing an also over pressing an stressful an will down talk you overtime example if shift at 11pm an you come in at 10:45 an something happens were computer won’t let you sign in it’s held against you! 
workplace culture? Toxic is the perfect way to describe it.
the hardest part of the job? Knowing what to do when you are not being train properly an can see training screen fully.
the most enjoyable part of the job ? It use to be enjoyable till they switched to tricare then it turned into a job nightmare 

What is the best part of working at the company?
What I love most about Pearl is helping those in need understand their healthcare. Also their benefit package is really good. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful is the back to back calls. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very diverse culture and there are GREAT supervisors that support you and go out of their way to help if you need something. I have had several different supervisors since I’ve been here because after so many months they change teams which is a great way to get to know everyone. I have not met one that I didn’t think did an outstanding job. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work 9-530. As soon as I clock in I start to take calls. I have two 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch. Some days we have trainings for 30 mins if your duel if your not duel then it’s 15mins and that is always at the beginning of your shift. We try to have a team meeting at least once a week. Sometimes that doesn’t happen due to contingency. We also do one on ones at often as we can. During open enrollment sometimes of these things can’t happen because we are so busy. We take anywhere from 20-60 calls a day.

My job consists of taking and transferring calls at my desk all day long - no counseling  and no social work functions. Training was lengthy but the trainers made us feel rushed. The best part of the job was the friends I made during training and once I was on the floor. Smart and capable people who really care about people.  We are supposed to be receptionists, call operators, customer service reps, and data entry reps, when we all have master's degrees or higher and/or licenses in counseling or social work. We are clinicians but are being treated like customer service reps. We aren't even getting to use our skills or licenses. We have to take crisis calls, transfer people to tax consultants,  and bunch of other departments. No where in the job description did it list what we really do. In my opinion, the job description is misleading  making people think there will be doing counseling or coaching when this job is anything but that. It's grunt work.

I have to say the training is/was very informative as far as what Medicare is and how it works. However, you can learn very little about the computer/phone systems during go training because they have not created a full “mock” version one their system, therefore making it very difficult and frustrating when u actually get on the phones. The management(at least the ones I have dealt with) are caring and understanding especially with TRUE illness and death. Having multiple diagnosis’s they made it easy to get the correct paperwork needed as well as approval for needed days off. During a death of a family member who was very young and was special needs they were super supportive and understanding allowing me to use some PTO without a request. As far as advancement I’m sure there is room I’m just not one to take on something like 50 person team and lead them plus have to answer to someone else about their mistakes, nor do I wanna be the one that had to constantly correct anything like that so I don’t even follow those memos. 

I've been here for almost a month now, & I'm already considering leaving. The job is very stressful, especially if you don't know a lot about health insurance stuff. The things I've heard on calls already, having to make sense of confusing healthcare & tax info, all while having to search for the script to best fit the situation has not been good on my mental health tbh. God help you if you're on the phone with an insurance agent!

The pay's good; as well as the full-time hrs & benefits, but I've already reached the point where it's almost not worth it. Yes, there are people there to help, tho I feel like they don't want to & just expect you to figure it out. We had 2 weeks of training, & I don't think that's enough given the amount of info you're expected to process all at once! My pod-mates are nice & friendly, but that's about all I've enjoyed so far. I'm miserable everytime I walk in the building. You don't get a lot of time for breaks/lunch! Some policies are understandable, others are confusing.

If you are knowledgeable in healthcare, or don't mind call center work, more power to you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Like I said, it's good money if you can stand it. But it's NOT for everyone!
