Bullying culture within the DOMESTIC DEPARTMENT
I've only worked here for 9 month's at chipchase house and it's been the worst domestic experience that I have ever been through in all of my working life. The Bullying that I have had to put up with from the Headhouse keeper and some of the domestics from day one has certainly had a big impact on my Mental Health.  It seems that if your hard working then they punish you for it. My induction on my first day was a complete shambles headhouse keeper left me on my own  within the first 10 minutes and so on after that. I was Expected to clean the full home on your own at a weekend while other laundry staff sit and play on there mobile phones and take extra breaks. I certainly would not recommend anyone to work within this department. However the Seniors, rcos, all of the support staff, admin, activities coordinators, kitchen staff and all of the services users have made me feel so welcome and appreciated everything that a have done. If it wasn't for these amazing people who work really hard and never stop I would of not have stayed here so long. Thank you to all of yous that have supported me it's very much appreciated.

Percy Hedley, Jesmond, is a great place to work. If you love children and young people, great staff and a happy fun environment along with a challenge then this is for you. No, the shifts aren't always easy but working with people with very complex needs and health problems, what do you expect? Everyday is different and having 2 parks, a hydrotherapy pool, a sports hall, school field and a swimming pool onsite always helps (so pack your towel)! Shifts are what you make them; The children all love to be out and about whenever possible. If you don't want to work long hours don't put yourself forward to do them, it really is that simple. I myself only work 7.5 hour shifts which works great for me and my family :)

I wouldn’t recommend applying for this company, the management are biased and the unwritten rule is if your face doesn’t fit you get nothing. They are not consistent and do not treat all staff the same. The residents are lovely but the seniors are horrendous to work under. Their attitudes are vile towards staff and they are bullies. Reports and concerns taken to management are not looked into correctly and are not taken seriously. They are pushed to one side and not acted on appropriately. 

I do like my job but I wouldn’t recommend it to others as I know the ins and outs and wouldn’t want others to be put under the pressure that most of the staff are under. Too many lazy people and too much chit chat and none approachable management. All residents are fantastic and got all the time in the world for them. Also there are some really nice staff 

Current employee I feel in the last year things have improved greatly staff have left but there is less toxicity now all staff are working together to give the residents the best life, the management team are trying their best to improve the service and give support  which the last managers didnt lots of agency staff but still a great place to work 

Residents are brilliant, never a dull moment. Staff are great and work well together always helping each other out. Management aren’t great and I’m not sure they actually know what they’re doing but if you can get passed that it’s a  fantastic place to work.  

I have really enjoy my time at percy Hedley chipchase house, from the moment I started,  I was made to feel extremely welcome, and part of the team, which was awesome of them as I'm the only male working with 6 females who are all fantastic women to work with.
