While I can not speak on all locations, I can say that I had a less than optimal experience at the Chesapeake location. I will report what happened, and you can make your own decision as to if the incidences are related or not. 

I was told to clock my hours as 8-4 each day, no matter what I ended up working. I was told it was ok because, "it would all even out." I also received a paycheck in which I was missing 12 hours of pay, although I went back and checked and it was entered correctly in the system. They did end up paying me for it. 

I addressed each of these issues. I said that I was concerned about issues arising that may compromise my licensure if I always documented that I worked 8-4 no matter the situation. I also said that I was concerned about working for free. They tried multiple times to give me 7-8 patients a day, when I spent an average of 2-3 hours a day driving. I actually collected my drive times and did the math, and obviously that leads to one working for free if they always document 8 hours of work.

I was told by both my immediate supervisor, as well as the rehab supervisor that they had no issues with my clinical reasoning and that the patients enjoyed working with me. I was also told by my immediate supervisor that she was glad they had finally hired someone she could trust with the patients.

After I addressed these issues I was fired less than a week later with the reasoning of "you don't fit into the culture here." I also had a few people (three) who reiterated the same concerns I had about being cheated out of pay throughout my short stint there. However, they never addressed it (as far as I know).

It's time we stepped it up and stop letting companies get by with this behavior, especially in regards to the field of physical therapy. Functioning in a scared/people-pleasing fashion isn't doing anyone any favors, except for the ones that will exploit this behavior.

Overal my experience with Personal Touch was fairly positive. The pay however was pretty low . Even working 40 hours a week didnt make more than $950-988  a month(after taxes &insurance) and that was AFTER a "raise". The staff I interacted with the most was the nurse ,human resources and of course scheduling. The complaints I heard the most was that communication was poor and people complained about the tests. If you get them done early they wont pull you off the schedule. They mean it when they say you will not be able to work UNLESS you completed the paperwork . I think it was every 3 -6 months. Youre going to just have to figure out how to make it to the office at a certain time to get it done. You have to complete it in the office . Also not sure if the rules still apply but when I first worked there dress code was strict and they DID have surprise visits. Just to make sure youre in uniform and to make sure the pca/cna was doing job properly. Dress code included short nails ,minimal jewelry, and natural hair colors only. They might have loosened up a bit now not sure. Only worked there from 2017-2019. For example Blue hair would not be acceptable . If you dont have a car this job will be difficult. Not all clients will be close to where you live. Imo scheduler was always available weekend included . I never was not able to get through. I would either call the office or call her cell phone. She was ALWAYS working . If you do what youre suppose to do you wont have any issues with any of the staff. As long as you show up to your shift you should be fine . Tardiness seems like not a big deal here as long as you show up. (0-30min late) Also a huge plus for this company was minimal drama. Everyone seemed to be on the same page ,professional, and got along pretty well. Like I mentioned before didnt see any major issues with communication.

As a case manager: Receive assignments of clients who may or may not be your regular patients.  If they have wounds then you must order the supplies before you leave the office.  On hand you may not have any supplies and must borrow from other staff or the clients are to purchase the supplies on their own until the insurance company sends supplies. This is a lot of money a family must spend to prevent infections in the wounds and the billing for sterile supplies over the counter is expensive.   If you have errors in documentation for OASIS then you will stay in the office and finish your work without pay and any other errors as well,    The pediatric care consists of a scale and all other supplies are on your own and knowledge basis is not high tech pediatrics. You are not provided educational credits but its through a private wound care company to get your ceu's.   My co-workers nurses and certified nurses aides work beyond the pay scale.   We see clients and then your up until late in the evening charting after the fact,  The pay is not worth the wear and tear on your car.   Management is not supportive of staff members decisions to call adult protective services nor basic medical supplies as this will detour money from the company.   Upper management will hire relatives to work in the office setting which can be seen as unethical. Management does not protect the patients or staff members and in my opinion care only about revenue.  The hardest part of the job is trying to see all of your clients in a timely manner.  The most enjoyable time is when your clients do recover from illness and are recovered from wounds and live a productive lives.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist working with Personal-Touch Home Care and Hospice, I can confidently say this organization sets the gold standard for compassionate, patient-centered care. Often as a Speech Therapist it is easy to feel isolated and not seen. That has never been the case working with Personal-Touch. I have been given multiple opportunities to provide in-services and work closely as a team with others. The level of collaboration and support among the interdisciplinary team is outstanding — from nursing and therapy to social work and hospice care, everyone works together with one shared goal: improving quality of life for every patient we serve.

What truly stands out is how much the company values both its patients and its clinicians. I’m encouraged to use my clinical expertise creatively and holistically, tailoring therapy to meet the unique cognitive, communication, and swallowing needs of each individual. The leadership team listens, provides resources, and fosters a positive, family-oriented culture that makes even the most challenging days rewarding.

Personal-Touch’s commitment to dignity, compassion, and excellence shines through in every visit. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a team that treats patients like family and empowers clinicians to make a real difference every day. I think everyone should work for this company!

I usually don't write reviews about companies that I've worked for, but I feel the need to warn others so that they don't have to go through the experiences that most employees have gone through with this company. There is a huge lack of support from management and executive staff. There's also a very huge lack of training and absolutely no opportunity for career advancement. Because of the lack of communication and managerial support, there is ton of stress and responsibility put on the team assistants and the team assistants are highly underpaid. Also, job roles and responsibilities are constantly being changed and not clear to employees. You are not valued at the company, and they let you know it by doing random lay-offs every 6 months or so...so, you can add no job security to the list as well. There's a constant revolving door at this company because it's such and uncomfortable place to work. When I resigned from the company I gave them two weeks notice despite me wanting to just walk away ( I will always stay professional no matter what), and they repaid me by giving me the run around over my last paycheck for about a month. Stay far away from this company if you're hoping to find a career.

I usually had two house in a day. Four hours sometimes five at each house.  I would make breakfast in the mornings and then do their shopping goals for that day. I would also do their laundry. Once leaving there I would go to my afternoon placement make their dinner for the night wash their cloths and run errands for them that they could not do.  I didn't have co-workers. I worked on my own, their was an on- call person I would have to call if a client didn't want to answer their door, but I didn't have an official manager. But the on-call person was very pleasant. 

The hardest part of the job was going to areas that I had never been to before, and sometimes the areas were dangerous and the houses were so untidy I wouldn't know where to start. Also sometimes the clients views would class and they didn't want you in their house. That was really hard, because sometimes it would be a long trip out their and then they wouldn't want you. But the company would reimburse you when that happened. 

The best part about the job is that I had a lot of jobs in Manhattan and I would love that because I love the city. I would also get some great clients who made up for the ones who didn't want me- some who always wanted to talk and share stories from their youth. And I really loved that fact that I worked alone.

⭐ 1 Star – Completely Ruined by New Leadership

This company was absolutely destroyed the moment the new CEO took over. He brought in his own people from a previous workplace, pushed out long-time staff, and wiped out the positive culture that once existed. What used to feel like a supportive, family-oriented company is now toxic and chaotic.

More than half of the company was fired, and all of that work was dumped onto the remaining employees. Coordinators are severely overworked, burned out, and given impossible workloads with zero support. The new staff came in with attitudes, no professionalism, and no respect for the people who built this company.

The aides are unhappy and constantly complaining about the nonstop changes, poor management, and lack of communication. Many of them still reach out to me because they’re frustrated and feel unheard. Morale is at an all-time low.

Management has no concern for employees or the quality of care being provided. This place went from a team-based, caring environment to one of the worst-run companies I’ve ever seen. I strongly do not recommend working here or trusting leadership in its current state.


A typical work day at Personal Touch Home care is more of a family atmosphere. For the most part of the work day you are not stress. There is only a high level of stress when the state is in house. I have learned as a manager to have an open door policy thru the years I have tried diffrent methods, the open door policy is the one that the employees seem to like most because, I had seen a great increase in productivity when the staff felt like the issuse was being address, and the felt like they were part of something. The most difficult part of the day was after lunch. it became very noticeable that most of our errors was made during 2pm and 4pm. So I had to adjust assignment to decrease the errors flow. The most enjoyable part of the job is when the state is in becasue this is where you see what people are made of, and how well the can handle the stress level.

I worked for this company and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. The company fosters a toxic work culture that prioritizes results over employee well-being, creating a high-stress, unsupportive environment. Some key issues I encountered:
Poor Management: Leadership is unapproachable, dismissive of employee concerns, and lacks transparency in decision making. Feedback is often ignored, and favoritism is rampant. There is a culture of blame rather than support. Instead of fostering collaboration, the workplace thrives on office politics and unnecessary competition.
High Turnover: Many talented employees leave due to the toxic atmosphere, leading to constant restructuring and instability.
I would not recommend this company to anyone who values a healthy, supportive, and professional work environment. Unless major cultural and managerial changes are made.

Working for 12 hours 4 days a week 48 hours weekly a typical day for Personal Touch starts at 5 am for me. Work starts at 8 am I prepare breakfast and clean then prepare lunch at 11 for 12 noon dinner at 6pm. I must always check for safety of the patient and any physical changes.
I've learned patients and how to handle some life threatening situations. 
I have no co workers and the hardest part of my job is not being able to work around lots of people. 
One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is there's always someone depending on me to provide safety and care for their needs and I am able to do so physically. I look forward to working at Personal touch because this company had provided me with a sense of endearment they're also flexible with my schedule which allowed me to further with my education.
