What is the best part of working at the company?
I think the only good part about working there is my coworkers. We all get along and it’s the only thing that gets us through the day. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful aspect of working at this company is the constant understaffing due to high turnover. As employees continue to leave, the workload increases, yet management continues to schedule a high volume of studies without adequate staff to support them.

Additionally, expectations around overtime are not communicated transparently during the hiring process. While it is presented as occasional, in reality, employees are expected to work overtime almost daily.

There is also a lack of work-life balance. Employees are not able to leave at the end of their scheduled shifts without asking for permission, which creates an environment where it feels difficult to maintain a life outside of work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is high-pressure and often overwhelming due to chronic understaffing and poor workload management. There is a constant expectation to handle more work than is reasonable, and overtime is treated as the norm rather than the exception.

The culture lacks transparency and respect for employees’ time, as expectations are not clearly communicated during hiring and staff are often required to stay past their scheduled shifts without prior notice.

The only positive aspect of the culture is the team dynamic among coworkers. Employees tend to support each other and maintain a good rapport, which helps make a difficult work environment more manageable.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is fast-paced and often overwhelming due to understaffing. We’re expected to manage multiple studies at once without enough support, which leads to a heavy and constant workload.

There’s little downtime, and priorities can shift quickly depending on the demands of the studies. It’s also common to stay past scheduled hours, as overtime is expected rather than occasional.

Most of the day is spent trying to keep up with the workload, and while coworkers are supportive, the overall pace and expectations make it a consistently stressful environment.

A typical day at Phramaron CPC (Baltimore) was possible to endure because the as a whole 
 was committed to purpose of the business and the importance of the mission of the job they were performing.

The hardest part is that you're always worried if you were going to get called onto the carpet by HR or even  terminated. Simply put: HR is untrustworthy and emotional. The leaders in China should seriously consider replacing her if they hope to see any real cultural changes at Pharmaron CPC. The current HR "sounds" very professional, advising leaders to maintain good documentation and performance records regarding team performance. On the contrary, these rules do not apply to her! She has fired so many people at either her own or someone else whim. You are done at CPC once she starts gunning for you. 

The medical director also fuels the instability in the culture whom over-reacts and plays the blame-game over the most insignificant events.

The head of QA is very knowledgeable and "could" make significant positive changes if she would resist reacting to every tiny, mundane issue raised by the aforementioned parties.  You are allowing them to take your power!

The most enjoyable part of each day was realizing that you were making a difference!

This company is just by far the worst. From management to HR, no one is trustworthy there is no safe space and the environment is just toxic. You are forced to do things outside of your job title whether you are certified to do these things or not. They do not care if you feel comfortable or safe at work. As a research assistant you are literally doing the job of everyone who gets paid 2-3x more than you. This place is basically "sink or swim" and they will definitely watch you drown, no questions asked. You will be replaced faster than you got hired so don't even bother trying to voice your opinion on anything that goes on, just seek new employment. 

I feel that this company has a great atmosphere and lots of potential for growth.  We have some employees that are unhappy, but that will be found everywhere.  Overall, I feel that the people in place to make decisions do so with the staff and company future's best interest at heart.  The company is in a transition phase, going from somewhat smaller to larger and some old habits must be discontinued, but overall, everyone cares enough to make necessary changes and learn from mistakes.  If someone is looking for an opportunity to learn and grow, this is a great place!  

Since coming to work here over a year ago, I have felt more at home than in any practice in my 30 years in medicine. Everyone is professional, courteous and considerate. 
The work has meaning on a large scale, rather than a one on one basis. Disillusioned by the capitalistic nature of a profession that should never be for profit, clinical research at Pharmaron has helped me regain my passion for the medical scientific process and community.

I have been working as a Research Associate at Pharmaron for almost a year, and my experience has been great! The company is expanding fast, creating opportunities for growth and job stability. The introductory training with the training manager was incredibly useful—something I hadn’t experienced at other companies, and it helped me feel well-prepared when I started participating in studies.

The only downside is that the new site is in Carlsbad, so if you live in South San Diego, you might face traffic driving home. But the commute is worth it for the chance to work in such a nice facility!


This company has multiple management personnel who are ineffective despite receiving extremely high salaries, while the employees who work the hardest are rewarded with very little. There is a complete lack of structure and organization, which results in employees being consistently overworked due to understaffing and high turnover.

Management frequently fails to follow established SOPs and instead makes decisions based on convenience. 
Processes and expectations change constantly from one day to the next, creating confusion, inconsistency, and an unstable work environment.

As with most jobs, office politics in evident in the company. The turnover rate is crazy. Every month at least one person leaves, probably because of the low pay, lack of raises, low quarterly bonuses (to replace yearly raises) and the lack of incentive. Once a month the company has a luncheon for everyone. Most of the employees get along with each other, sympathesize with each other and are friendly.

Have been here < 5 yrs. Previously worked in corporate america.  I am  now a medical provider.  No company is perfect and at some point goes through changes. Our current management is diligently working at making the work environment better and more supportive for all.   All it takes is a good team and supportive management and it seems as if the company is moving towards that direction . 

The organization has a flexible work schedule for full-time, exempt employees.  If you are part of the clinical team you need to be here for certain hours because you are dealing with time-sensitive work.  The management team is understanding of personal and professional goals.  The best part of this job is that you're always learning and your teammates are there for you.  The hardest part of this job is trying to understand your growth path here.
