Despite long days, a fast-paced environment, and sudden changes in schedules, serving patients as a rehab tech was the most fulfilling job I've ever had. I felt like I was truly making a difference as we helped them gain the strength and endurance they needed to move on to more advanced therapy and eventually to go home. 

Keeping up with the constant change in patient status, location, and priority by the doctors was quite a challenge, but locating the adaptive equipment I needed served to be my biggest challenge on our busier days.

My manager had a lot on her shoulders but she tried to be fair to everyone and her door was always open if there were concerns. I truly appreciated her efforts!

I honestly love working at P.H. but had to leave due to knowing pay raises were not really gonna happen.  If a raise did happen it would be an insult, according  to ppl that have worked in the same department for going on 20 yrs. One person that's been there 19 years make an even $15 an hour.  When the pay rate went to $15 for everyone, this person got a 14] cent raise to meet 15.00.  19 yrs and done like that.  That gave me no hope.  As hard of jobs we have/had in Evironmental Services.  The pay should be a heck of a lot more.  They do all the dirty work for hospital.  Hardest jobs there in that department.  I loved my job, and I'm not afraid of hard work.  The pay needed to be nothing under 18.00 an hour. Housekeepers are the 1st defense against germs and disease.  Pay Housekeepers 18 to 20 an hour.  Might keep your EVS employees.

PCRMC offers quality medical care to the rural community surrounding. It is a hospital that is continually growing and adding newer and more modern services. 

The rural community offers a differing set of values than the typical suburban community. These values are important to be aware of and offer a wider base of perspective in working with your patients. 

The hardest part of the job is having to send patients to specialty services that may be 100 or more miles away which is a significant hardship for some. This provides an opportunity for learning how to work with the patient for their own well-being to learn the value of the care being offered to them even though it may require a substantial effort and resource burden.

I was hired at Phelps Health during the first months of the Covid pandemic as an entrance screener at the hospital. The pay was incredibly low, but I needed a job so I cheerfully accepted it. The bulk of my co-workers were very young and inexperienced, as well as immature in some cases. We were expected to stand for long periods of time, even when there was no one around. We were asked to pick up extra shifts for coverage, which I was willing to do. I loved meeting patients and initiating conversations with them. This was the best part of the job and very rewarding. Management was very inexperienced and all over the place with regard to policies and expectations. It was a temporary position and I was frankly glad when it came to an end.

There are no Personal Days, strictly PTO. This did not bother me except when it came to the Friday after Thanksgiving. Even though the office was closed that day since it was not a paid holiday you automatically lost PTO for the day.

The Manager stood around the cubical area at least an hour a day complaining about how much work she had while you were trying to concentrate on phone conversations with patients or insurance companies trying to resolve issues.

Higher annual raises were partially controlled by special projects, but these were always assigned to the Manager's favorite employees.

I enjoyed doing the duties of the job, but found the environment somewhat hostile.

I felt like I was a great secretary and I would help out wherever.  I wished I would have stayed a float.  It was more fun to move around.   I ended up in the MOB.  We couldn't keep an office manager for awhile.  We finally get one, but she was very hard to please.  They passed over several good applicants for other secretaries including one with relevant experience with our type of office.   There's no room for advancement unless you are in with upper management.  There's no education unless its the garbage that they want you to learn every year so they can say they have education. Its not anything relevant to help with the job or make you better.  Some rules apply to you but not to others.  Like I was told I couldn't save family photos to my computer.  However, other secretaries did including lead secretaries.   

Productive, proficient, professional. Phelps health has been the job that enabled me to live near my children and have tremendous amount of support on the job as well as off the job. Phelps health enabled me to have that job security the listening ear that I may have needed on any certain days with there open door policy. Any questions or concerns the people of phelps health have been there for there employees. I appreciate them and all they have done for me. throughout my career there and and thankful for
coworkers that invited me on there outings and made sure I was aware of anything that was happening in our surroundings at work!

I started work in 2021 and only had to leave due to losing child care and having a baby in April 2022 that won't take a bottle. My managers were absolutely amazing. The staff is also very amazing. There were some hiccups but every job has those. Any time something came up and I had to leave, I was able to. They are very understanding. They like to promote within before going to outside sources and it is awesome especially for me because the job I had before there was shut down due to no longer being needed. Everyone is always willing to help if you have questions and they are very supportive if you have to have a certain schedule and will help you to the best of their ability to make your schedule as you need it.

Nothing good to say.  Management is not what you know bit who you know.  Do many unqualified people in management and supervisor positions.  They talk about wanting change but it's only lip service.  Massive turnover rate.  Made minimum wage $15.  It didn't change the turnover rate for the lower pay grades which was at 70%.  People quit managers not companies.  The CEO needs to wake up and see he has a major culture problem.

The benefits are nice though the sick leave is kind of a joke, you can't use it unless you use 40 hrs of pto first. The management staff are very kind and they work with you on apptments and emergencies in your personal life. They recently did a full staff raise but I personally feel they didn't do an adequate job. My raise was fine as I just started but I know there were employees who have worked there a good 2 years longer than me with way more experience and responsibility who are also very dependable; I am making the same pay as them. I know this would seem like a good thing but in my opinion it's a huge negative on the company that I am currently looking for new employment.
