The worst management you can have in a hospital!!! Managers and clinical specialists (Facilitators) walking around like they own the place complaining about how they had to come to work to brand new staff members!! Take 45 minutes to an hour lunch break, never relieving the staff members who need it and having the nerve to say to clinical staff that “if you choose to not take your lunch break, that’s on you, we still deduct it!” How dare you!!!! Maybe I could eat if your fat face wasn’t sitting in the break room for an hour stuffing your face and moaning about how you hate your job!! So lazy! Not to mention that any time you have an issue with someone on the floor, they move the permanent staff member and NOT the traveler!! Issues still not resolved!   All of Management needs to be fired and find someone with half the incentive than these lazy people!!! Also, You NEED to revamp your protocol system in which Doctors see patients in a timely manner!  Sever patients of mine were threatening to leave AMA because of “lack of communication”! What way is that to treat the person who is giving you opportunity to learn!! Lord knows you could also use some education on bedside manners! Especially some of the NP’s who think they are more knowledgable thank you are!! Please tell me again how my patient with a collapsed lung is FINE and doesn’t need immediate attention, so you can stuff your angry pregnant face and call me incompetent! 
If you have any common sense I would stay far far away from this hospital!!! Nurses don’t care about the patients because it’s not their hospital, and nor should they! They get paid mega bucks to come in and stabilize patients then leave. Permeant staff gets shortchanged on salary. Absolutely no incentive to come to work! It should be illegal what they pay new nurses at this place. California has a higher rate of pay for their grocery store clerks!!! 
Same with the doctors! They use this place and the patients as a “learning experience” and move on the hospitals with good standings and a better reputation!  There is something to be said for doctors who are never held accountable for their mistakes!!! And well if you want the “worst” care ever and want your loved one to die because the doctors and nurses don’t care then by all means take them to Phoebe!

Mu current employer offers enjoyable work where I am able to utilize my skills in a non threatening environment. The company is a great environment with people that are team players. I feel that management is fair and considerate and allows me a degree of autonomy by recognizing my skill level. The company offers many opportunities for growth and development including furthering education and continuing education.
July 2016 to Current  -Full Time Alternating Charge Nurse Adult Behavioral Health Unit (Primary Location) with PRN work on Geriatric Behavioral Medicine, Behavioral Health Emergency Center, and General Medical.  I do electronic charting. I prepare information from physical and mental assessments done by me and participate in the Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings where treatment plans for clients are developed and updated and I document daily on goals set by the Treatment Team for the clients assigned to me. I conduct individual and group therapy groups with clients and document on these results as well. In addition I am responsible for activities of daily living including medication delivery to my assigned clients.

Fast paced ED provided intense experience with triage, fast track, acute care, chest pain and trauma patients. Working under expert supervision, my experience included, but was not limited to, initiating IV sites, obtaining blood cultures, applying EKG leads, cuff and devices for continuous monitoring, obtaining blood glucose levels, assisted patient bed transfers, performing urine collections and 
wound cultures.  I adminstered medications PO, IM and SubQ, accessed implanted port with Huber needle, administered/removed Foley catheters (male patients only), and assisted patient care during trauma events (clothing and debris removal, handing physician/FNP requested items, and patient positioning for backboard removal and xray board placement, communication with patient to obtain injury details and to reduce anxiety. Provided direct observation of suicidal/unruly patients to prevent self harm or injury to staff. Assited applying restraints using approved and correct procedures. I communicated with distraught patients to determine possible needs from case management services and provided support to patients and family members during extensive waiting periods and intensive emotional episodes.

Every day, I would visit and provide education for the patients in the hospital who were post op for lumpectomies, mastectomies and hysterectomies. I provided back-up lactation specialist for the lactation specialist when she was out of the office, working with new moms to educate them on how to breast feed. I fitted women for mastectomy bras after becoming a certified fitter. I wrote researched and wrote education for presentations that I would provide for community groups on breast self-exam and peri-menopause.

I learned about women's health, how to present to research and create presentations for community groups, how to present to a community group, how to educate a woman on proper breast feeding techniques, how to properly fit a woman for a mastectomy bra, etc.

Management was great. I had a very supportive boss who worked with her team to provide excellent services.

My co-workers were amazing! I enjoyed this job immensely.

The hardest part of this job was visiting and educating women who had recent surgery and a poor prognosis.

The most enjoyable part of this job was working with women and helping them cope through a difficult time in their lives.

Working with different cultures at Phoebe allowed me to learn a lot of new skills and techniques that other cultures had.Working at Phoebe for these pass twenty nine years have allowed me to do things with other people that I never ever knew. Working at Phoebe has been rewarding to me and my family. Being employed at Phoebe was a lot of pressure at times when we had bad accidents such as plane crashed train wrecks and etc. You have to deal with a lot of stress trying to satisfy the new and the old patients at the same time. I enjoyed being employed there with Phoebe because they had very good benefits package. We as employees were allowed to attend all of their health care programs to stay healthy ourselves. Since I been employed with Phoebe I also had the opportunity to graduate from college in which was a big blessing to me and Phoebe allowed me to work full-time and go to college. Being employed on any job is good but I think being employed at Phoebe was outstanding for me and these twenty nine years proves it all for me.

Management was awful. They didn't care about their dept or have their employees backs. The employee was always in the wrong even when the facts were there. They would always side with the other depts. If you were in the department that I was in they dumped all the work onto you because they saw you as the bottom of the barrel. They would never listen to your concerns or suggestions even when it would better the dept. They don't care at all. They gossip and spill the tea to co workers when it was none of their business. There was no sense of moral and the entire dept was full of miserable and unhappy people that didn't want to be there. Co workers talked about each other behind backs, team leaders didn't want to be there and showed it unless management was around. Everybody was scared to stand up to management because they knew there would be some kind of retaliation if they did. I got that firsthand. Processes changed on a daily basis and it seemed like the dept had no idea what they were doing.

Phoebe has a nice simulation lab and free gym for their employees but that’s as far as the good goes. We were consistently understaffed, some of the doctors talk down to you on a regular basis, the insurance only covers things at Phoebe ( if you have kids in college away from Albany then they will not be covered), some of the management seems like they are inexperienced and undertrained which puts everyone under them in a tight space most of the time. And with the conditions we work under it makes it next to impossible to work there. On specific floors they dump patients that don’t belong there and the nurses are not really trained to handle them which puts them in a bad predicament. Finally they throw new nurses into situations where experienced nurses should be but due to the lack of capable staff, they have to. This is not safe for the staff or the patients. Overall if they made some changes it would be a half decent place to work but right now it’s where people go when they can’t go anywhere else and it shows in the staff’s attitudes a lot of times. Hopefully they can work on these things and make the environment safer and more habitable for the staff and the patients. 

A typical work day in-tells triage of: 20 to 40 patients per day with lab draws, culture posting, medical record retrieval, patient education, wound clean, dressing, physician, updates prior to him/her seeing the patient, stocking and many other tasks associated with patient care.

On any given day there are countless thing learned because medicine is an ever changing field. Our management team is very involved and hands on however not so much that we are not allowed to carry out  out given duties with out being micromanaged.  The hardest part of my job is not being able to help one on my patients with healing or reaching a desired result. The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the results of good care and commitment to the well being of a patient end in healing.

My job was many, as Outreach Programs Coordinator, I organized "Cancer Talks", Health Fairs and Screenings, I also audited patients Radiation Therapy treatment charts, for errors/missed charges, etc. Attended daily morning meetings which addressed  new and follow-up patients, checked for needed dictations and audited scanned dictations.  I was also responsible for entering results from screenings, printing address labels and mailing the results to health fair participants, which were 300+. Also educated 1000s of students in Dougherty County on the "Dangers of Tobacco" use.
I've worked with some of my co-workers over 20 years, we did not have a high turn over rate.  We all enjoyed our jobs and coming to work.
I enjoyed the health fairs and helping the community, in coding I enjoyed finding ways to increase revenue/productivity.
The hardest part of my job was being let go after 28 years of dedication.
