The company was ok to work for till I had a bad injury. I had worked at pinkerton for well over a year. I then was injured and need some time off to heal (2 days here, 2 days there) over a period of 2 month so I took a 10 sick days (not payed I might add).I know that’s a lot of time off in a short period, which the company acted like they understood why I was off so much. At which point the company tried to get the members of my team to write statements saying I was faking and planned to be of for some reason. A few members of my team called and told me that they were trying to fire me b/c I took to many sick days and I had to be faking it. Which I am unsure how they thought I was fake it, when they require a Doctor's note for EVERY sick day you take. Once I finally did my MRI I found out I was going to need surgery, and I would be down for long while. Ontop of that I would need a physical fitness test to come back to work, which my Dr had told me I would not be able to pass for some months. Between the company (when I say company I do mean the guy in charge of the local area) wanted me fired for taking 10 sick days over 2 months, plus I would not be able to work there for a while anyway, I put in a 2 week notice and quit. Now I am able to start working again and have applied to many companies to hear nothing back. So I called to see what pinkerton had about me in the file (ie rehire or no rehire) to find out that they are telling everyone that calls I was a bad employee who call out all the time and would never be hired back. Over the 16 months I had worked there I took 15 sick days. Most companies give you 10 sick days a year, then after that its 10 days of vacation time off, this company does nether. So if you're taking your family on vacation or at how with the flu, there is no time off. From what I have seen, and not just what happened to me, they want you there every day they get mad when you want vacation time and very mad when you want a sick day. If you don’t get sick and don’t plan on every getting injured, and don’t take vacation time this place is a GREAT company to work for.

I worked her for a while and I can honestly say the only thing good about the company is that they paid well and I met a lot of good people there.

I had a contract position and the client employees were awesome people and I enjoyed getting to know them and working for them. While some where hard to deal with, they were they client so I always understood the need to give them whatever they needed. I made a number of friends and they made coming to work a lot of fun.

When it came to the way PGS handled employees; they were well below basic standards of considerations, understanding and just plain decency. Employees do not feel a sense of job security and turnover rate is very high with this company. Some management has changed since I have left, but some remain and they have not changed their ways of operating unfortunately.

The salary, because it's contract, was very high. That drew people in, but often it was not enough to keep employees wanting to stay with the company. There wasn’t really much opportunity for advancement because the positions just weren’t available. Because of the way management operated, no one wanted to be in a supervisory position. Often being a supervisor meant your job was more in jeopardy than anyone else’s. Their discipline practices were very unfair. Often there was no investigation only allegations and punishment. Your side was never considered before they made a decision on disciplinary actions and often there was double standards in how they handled different employees.

It’s a typical 24-hr call center environment. You have to come to work regardless. Even situations out of your control causing you to be late or absent, counts against you. You’ll get a lot of conflicting information on policy and procedure and those things change very often; and has sometimes been changed to inflict discipline on an employee. High volume, high pressure and often unrealistic standards placed on Dispatchers. No rotating shifts, so people working weekends would have to take off or trade.

Anyone choosing to work here should do so with caution.

I work 3rd Shift, 0:00 hrs - 08:00 hrs, Tuesday through Saturday as a contractor at NetApp, Inc. A typical day for me at work consist of a combination of things. I use a variety of computer programs to perform my duties. My area of responsibility is Foreign Travel. I process pre- departure and post travel information for NetApp employees traveling internationally; insuring their travel information is well documented in assigned databases. 

Each day I learn different things related to my job as things change pretty frequently in regards to processing and handling of different information, projects and audits that myself and Team perform. 

My management staff is great, and take excellent care of us, and make us feel needed and appreciated on a daily basis.

 I enjoy working with my co-workers, who are very professional, have great work ethics and great attitudes. Good people to be around. Great Team players. Most of us are veterans of some branch of the military. I am prior Army. 

There really isn't a "hardest" part of my job. Instructions are given, clarification provided if needed. If questions aren't asked when something isn't understood, then that's what makes a job hard.The main issue that I have with my present job is  the lack of benefits. As a contractor  we have no paid holidays, no sick days, and building vacation time is some what difficult.

 My job is enjoyable because I am comfortable with what I'm doing. I enjoy working with computers and different programs. I am very organized due to my military experience, and paying attention to detail is what I'm use too. I also enjoy Team work.

-A typical day at work consisted of me heading into the office at least one hour prior to my immediate supervisor (to get a jump start and stay ahead). Then it consisted of me reviewing my calendar and the calendars I managed. Checking e-mails/messages, than adding any new information accordingly. Routine clerical and administrative work for the first hour or two. Then, depending on the day, I would either have a morning meeting, or be scheduled to work on one of the many spreadsheets I managed. The rest of the day definitely changed from day to day but I was diligent in managing my schedule.
- Having previous administration experience, I gained an abundance of HR knowledge as well as a greater depth of office etiquette. I advanced exceedingly in tracking company leaves, benefits, training schedules, etc.
- The management at PGS was wonderful. My direct supervisor was very understanding, she made it possible for me to have a voice and give input in creative projects that were not apart of my department. The area vice president was a very upbeat individual that always made sure to acknowledge everyone in the office as being part of a TEAM.
-My co-workers were pretty great .
-The hardest part of my job was probably when there were team projects that needed various tasks/information from team members that were at locations/sites with little to no computer access.
-The most enjoyable part of my previous job would be the challenges.

The setting and work day for this employer depend completely on which location you are contracted to. The bulk of the locations are with government contracting companies, ULA, Raytheon, Ball, etc... Which can make life very interesting.
For my particular location, we were front desk personnel who also happened to run the facilities health and safety enforcement. On a typical day, myself and my partner would take turns on health and safety patrols, and watch the security cameras. In between said patrols, we would also take deliveries, check in visitors, answer facilities based telephone calls, and respond to any form of emergency.
The most difficult part of the job was, your bad days flew by and your good days crawled by. What I mean is, your bad days tended to involve the police, fire department, or medical emergency services and could include things ranging from a drug addict in the parking garage to treating a medical emergency until the paramedics arrived. While your good days involved nothing at all; you simply watched the cameras and went on periodic patrols.
What I enjoyed most about the job was the ability to get up and move around. Sitting, doing nothing, is not an activity I enjoy. So the periodic patrols, especially the exterior patrols during the spring, were rather enjoyable. Plus, when you're security for a professional work place, you are treated with quite a bit of respect and professional courtesy.

Generally, there is very little to do, but, when things start to liven up, it's not a place for someone who thinks and moves slow. One must always be aware of his/her surroundings and respond in a manner as to protect the client's lives and property while at the same time preserving your health an well-being as well. It does no one any good should anything happen to the security officer on patrol. Pinkerton Management usually was pretty good, but, had a tendency to believe the reports of the client rather than the security officer. Those one worked with varied. Most were there because they couldn't find work anywhere else. They were there in body, but, not in spirit. Others took their jobs seriously and went on to more lucrative jobs. Support was always rotating. The hardest part of the job, if your replacement didn't show up, the hours could be long. Sometimes as long as 48 hours. The good part of the job, one learns to be aware of his/her surroundings not only for the good of the client, but, also for the well-being of self. I encountered on six occasions people with guns, several with knives, and a couple with clubs. There were irate protesters, clients of the client, and even the clients as well. There were those who would attempt to steal from the client or attempt to destroy the client's property. Even things like floods or fires would keep one busy to ensure the problem was handled quickly and efficiently. Occasionally, the dreaded bomb threat would rear it's ugly head. But, all in all, I enjoyed my ten years of being a Pinkerton Security Officer as one who thrives on the unexpected.

Started off as security field supervisor, moved to scheduler, personnel & payroll manager, office manager and operation manager. Responsible for scheduling and Payroll for over 300 security officers, office staff and over 180 clients. Posting Security Officers to the accounts, handling call off with problems and other issues on daily basis. Supported management and staff and assisted with major projects. Handling on daily basis clients and security officer’s issues and resolving. Dealing with daily post commanders’, account managers, field supervisors, and clients. Performed Interviewing, process guard card procedure, hiring process, clerical functions: phones, typing, filing, and maintaining the office records. A staff and Client meeting, visit clients on weekly or monthly basis. Accounts payable and payroll time sheets. Maintain yearly vacations for security officers and staffs. Achieving profit and overhead goals. Controlling overtime and other overhead cost to increase profit. Trained payroll PAR’S System to several Pinkerton Inc offices in the United State. Managed over 180 clients such as Lockheed Aircraft, Hughes Aircraft, Bank of America, City Bank, Washington Mutual, Awards, Kauffman Board, Saugus Oil Refineries, May Co, Broadway, Nordstrom, Manufacturing Industries, HOA’s Associations, Construction companies and many more well knew clients. Also managed Oscars Awards, Amy Awards for 5 years, International Business Award and Creative Awards. Worked with LAPD officers for Awards.

This company is by far the worst security company in the business. They promote incompetent management who do not know how to handle situations or a team. The regional Vice President of the Dallas area is deceptive in his hiring practices as he leads employees to believe there is a future in the company only for the new hire to find that there are no full time positions in the Dallas portfolio. Not just are there none available, there are none period. Then they can't even uphold their end of their job offers. They do not believe in managing from a positive standpoint and they constantly lie and cover up the actions of their management team. They even go as far as to falsify complaints and evidence against employees as retaliation for employees filing a formal complaint with the human resources department in a successful attempt to terminate the complaining employee. Furthermore, this company is a subsidiary of Securitas and this explains why this company is so bad. The turnover for both of these companies is extremely high and the support, ethics, professionalism, and courtesy is by far the worst I have been associated with in my 20 plus years in the law enforcement and security industry. I would highly recommend seeking employment elsewhere.

Worked in a regional office with other Managers so most of us were on the same level.  A great spirit of cooperation to help and support each other was evident.  I worked with the customers, employees in the field and office personnel to make sure payroll was uploaded.  Worked daily with the customers and receivables to keep them as current as possible by correcting billing errors or personally resolving problems. I thoroughly enjoyed getting the A/R caught up and collecting some past due that was written off previously. I taught payroll classes to the site leads and was available daily for questions or remedial training. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was that I was allowed a flexible schedule to come in early and leave early so that I could avoid wasting time in traffic. I was allowed a computer to work from home and upload payroll as needed.  Enjoyed the personnel in the office and the support of the Vice President, who was my supervisor.  He was a hands off supervisor that allowed you to work independently.  I enjoyed the job satisfaction of feeling that I could help others to do their job better and that any could come to me with questions and I was happy to assist. 
The hardest part of the job was rarely being able to take Fridays off since that was the day payroll was uploaded.   

When I first started being a Security Officer I was in Arizona working with another company and got transfered to Virginia with the same company and a few years later Pinkerton took over the contract. This company was by far the most strictest company I ever worked for but easy to advace in with some dedication and direction. Management was excellent and always concerned with individual issues. I first stated doing security for a five star hotel, Hampton University, NNSY Navy Vessels, Navy Dorms, The Ship Yard gates, parking lots, parking Garage's, and finally ended up inside of the Ship Yard doing Operator's and 911 Dispatching. With this company the more post you worked the better you were getting alot of hours. I hardly worked with any co-workers but mostly delt with the general public checking to see if they had the proper ID's and permits to be in the area. The hardest part of this job was details and ID's but very easy once you got the hang of how things were ran. The most enjoyable part of the job was the difficult multi-tasking environment you had to face every day and it reall keept you busy.
