I learned a lot during my time here — especially in customer service, account openings, and basic banking operations. It’s a decent place to get your foot in the door if you’re new to the industry. Some coworkers were genuinely supportive, and the work environment could be friendly at times.

However, there’s a noticeable imbalance in how management handles performance and conflict. Concerns about unprofessional or even discriminatory behavior from certain employees were brushed aside, especially when those employees had seniority or threatened to retire. Meanwhile, younger or newer staff were expected to carry more of the workload without the same level of support or protection.

Opportunities for advancement are limited, and feedback isn’t always taken seriously unless it comes from someone in a favored position. If you’re someone who values accountability, fair workload distribution, and professional growth, this may not be the best long-term fit.

Based on my experience in my opinion this is the absolute worst place I have ever worked in my life. I came here from 2 years of being a supervisor at another bank with the promise of moving up after training. Management offered me a promotion with no pay raise and worse hours and I declined not wanting the additional stress so she tried to write me up for insubordination. Had a meeting with her and her manager who said she wasnt there so she would have to back up her management. Took this to HR who said she couldnt do anything and proceeded to call the manager I had with me standing there to gossip about it. They are bestfriends apparently. Branch management did not know any closing procedures and refused to work closing or weekends because she had set shopping and spa days so she would force one person to work and close by themselves as we were short staffed. I put in my two weeks and they sent me home same day telling me they didnt want my side of the story to raise questions amongst other employees. After leaving I had several people reach out to me with similar stories.

This bank is great to get a job at, but employees stay there forever so it is hard to advance. Expect to work there 10 years before getting a truly well paying position. Typical day: slow, not a lot of customer traffic, also not too demanding with cross-sells. What I learned: mostly tellering and personal bankering principles, some loan stuff but not enough is taught (feels more like they expect you to know it/learn it yourself). Management: Overall pretty chill, just provide good customer service and be punctual. Workplace culture: Very Christian overall, but not openly judgmental if you don't participate. Hardest part of the job: Just dealing with demanding customers, which would happen anywhere anyways. Most enjoyable part of job: Meeting lots of different business customers and networking with people I wouldn't otherwise meet.

Paid for 9-5, but worked from 8-6. Had to take an unpaid hour for lunch everyday. Was not allowed to work more than 40 hours a week. No overtime. Little work life balance. Once you left the bank by 6 and drive home through traffic, it was time to eat and go to bed to wake up at 7 or earlier the next day. Hiring and bonuses are very biased. Was guilted by several branches about opting out of 401k. After explaining that they only pay me enough for rent and gas with NO extra money left over, I was told I need to “budget better”. I got paid more as a host in a restaurant at 15 than I did at pinnacle bank handling thousands of dollars during each transaction. Manager and tellers were raciest and classist to customers 

The workplace culture in one word is friends.  A typical day we all come in on time, complete or opening responsibilities, and take care of our customers, helping and assisting each other whenever needed. One of the best things is we all work equally until the day is done.  There is no “it’s not my job” type attitude.  It’s a positive environment.  With continuous training, comes continuous leaning.  It’s nice to be able to say my job is fun, but I would have to say the biggest challenge is making right a disgruntled customer, but it’s awesome when they leave happy.

I greatly enjoyed working at Pinnacle. I learned a lot about finances and other things they should really teach you in high school. Because of working at Pinnacle, I know more about 401k's, savings and retirement plans, loans, etc. I enjoyed working one on one with customers in relation to their account needs. This was a temporary position because my degree is in the social services. However, I would still recommend this job because it was a great work environment and Pinnacle does a lot within it's own community and also in the Lincoln community.

Be careful as HR needs to reevaluate the pay scale. All new employees are being hired on at higher rates and not compensating those that have been there for years. Pay is the only downfall that I and other former employees have encountered. The workplace can be enjoyable, depending upon your manager and how involved with activities they like to be. For the most part, it is a "safe" place to work. You don't see a lot of employee turnover at Pinnacle, but let it be known that you have to fight for a decent raise. Raises can consist of anywhere between $.10 - .90 ANNUALLY. This does not even constitute the cost of living increase.

Can't think of anything that stresses me about the company. Dealing with the public can be stressful.

Wonderful and Amazing. Love that we can help our community and local businesses. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Like working with family, some days are better than others.

-excellent pay rate and increases after training is complete
-understanding management with paid time off and vacations
-multiple holidays off such as Veterans Day and Christmas
-enthusiastic coworkers who will help out with questions or concerns
Con
- no weekend staff so Mondays are very busy answering Saturday and Sunday customers’ questions
-software updates and changes are slow so a lot of questions arise from customers trying to navigate website or mobile apps

The job was both busy and fast paced which made the day pass by fast.
Banking rules change often and computers update often so it was often a learning experience.
The co-workers were wonderful to work with and fellowship with.
The hardest part of the job was when a transaction was out of balance by a penny. That can be very difficult.
The most enjoyable part of the job would be working on fund raisers
such as Relay For Life and March Of Dimes.
