I really liked working for this company. The hours are super flexible and both the clients we worked for and my coworkers were super friendly. My trainer didn't leave me to do an account on my own till she thought I was ready and I felt comfortable with it. If I ever had a question about anything I could always ask my manager, trainer, or co-workers. Somethings weren't straight forward regarding the accual job but that is the nature of plants. The hardest part about this job was that most of the communication was over the phone or email but over all it is one of, if not the best company that I have ever worked for. I only left because I like outside horticulture better than indoor. I would totally go back in the future if I needed to.

Worked here for a summer as a member of the event team for weddings. The job was fairly simple but very laborious as many of the tasks were repetitive in nature (folding hundreds of napkins etc.). You were expected to work all day in the summer heat in a greenhouse up until the wedding started and then somehow then become dressed up and ready to attend a wedding? The manager was never happy with anything I did and always gave confused directions. The other event team member I worked with had a very hostile relationship with the manager which made for tense situations. It seemed as if everyone working there was only trying to not get yelled at by management.

Wish I would've known before I started work at this company that the ownership is divided, hard to please, doesn't communicate well and changes their minds frequently - leading to more stress and frustration for the employee.  Almost all of my co-workers spoke badly about them as soon as I arrived, but I was excited to work with plants.  Like the people I work with.  Don't like working in chaos.  Also, starting wage is terrible, they didn't bump my pay as promised.  Sounds like they don't review on time either.  Don't know who to go to discuss because my boss is the owner and difficult to deal with.

Planterra should be an amazing place to work,but sadly it is not. If you are positive, ambitious, and a team player, I would strongly suggest that you save your time and talent for a different opportunity. 
Planterra Conservatory is beautiful at first sight and I was really excited to work there, but quickly realized that it is extremely chaotic and mismanaged. I have witnessed a good deal of toxic behavior, which is very disappointing. That being said, they have some great employees. I was fortunate to be part of a wonderful team. It did not save me from the negative aspects of the company.  The problems start at the top, that is how you know it will not be fixed. 

Planterra is truly the best company I've ever worked for.  The management respected my independence.  The work is physical but I was able to work at my own pace, doing gardening which I love.  Before I was hired I did not know of a gardening company that offered full-time work, year-round and consistently provided the hours I needed.  It was the first time that a employer was able to offer me a full 40-hours without a seasonal layoff.  I would still be working there if I didn't need to move out-of-state.

I would strongly advise not to work for this company and if you choose to make sure you document everything you do. Document your travels with your own google map tracker and take photos each everytime you visit. Months ago I learned that you need to do that with this company because they will accuse you of not going to your accounts, outright lie to the clients and to your face. I have been collecting my proof 4 months and now I'm waiting to use it

This job has been awesome for me, I've really been given the opportunity to use my diverse skillset to the best of my ability and have full trust of my superiors to get my job done. Some coworkers have strong personalities which can be a little distracting and frustrating, but that's an easy thing for me to ignore because I don't report to them. The hardest part of the job is multitasking and clear communication but I have no problem being a bother so this job works well for me.

If you love plants and pretty things, you’ll love Planterra.  The work is consistent yet never boring.  They have huge base of fancy clients and the company appears to be growing.   It’s a family business but the management is young, the active owners are brothers in their 30s.  There has been a big improvement in the management of the company within the last year.   The employee holiday party in the greenhouse is a nice perk.

While the job itself can be very rewarding, there are serious communications issues within the company, resulting in unnecessary conflict and blaming, and a general sense that your hard work is not appreciated. Co-workers are great, and the job can be enjoyable, but expect to have your performance questioned often and, routinely, unfairly.

This is actually one of the best companies that I’ve worked for. The management are excellent and willing to answer any questions that you may have. They give you a job task with the freedom to get it done. They trust their employees enough to let them do their job. I respect this company and the people who work here very much.
