Most of the time we worked understaffed, however there were many who were team players and the work got done and the patients received good care. A typical work day was giving showers, helping assist with meals, repositioning and providing private care to patients. Getting patients dressed and using mechanical equipment to get them in their chairs. I helped with wound dressings and learned a great deal about high acuity care. I worked with ventilator and tracheotomy patients and learned a great deal about life sustaining support. Management could get more involved on the floor, instead of during State Surveys. I think they would learn a bit more about their staff and be able to see for their own eyes where the building falls short. If they spent more time on the floor, the aides would be more inclined to smile a bit more and feel apprecitate dor all they do. Yes, they have free lunches and fun things but they need to be with their staff on the floor. Get to know the patients when things are good instead of just when there are concerns. For the better part the workplace is that of family and closeness. The most enjoyable aspect is the people I get to care for and getting to know their families and watch their progress back to good health. The hardest part is death. Its always comforting to know that they no longer suffer, yet death is hard.

My time at Plaza has been exceptional!  The environment is that of a small business, which allows management and staff to get acquainted with one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of ideas and helpfulness, that promotes respect and resonates pride in the care that is delivered.  The atmosphere:  Resident/patient AND staff focused.  The team members are happy and willing to assist in many ways, helping to make your job easier.  Management regularly provides free meals, drinks (YAY) and fun activities to encourage staff participation and inclusiveness. The care provided in this field is challenging, however, all efforts are made to assist the employee to not feel overwhelmed or burdensome while maintaining compliance. The hiring process was professional, with immediate responses from the recruiter. Expectations were perfectly communicated, leaving no questions unanswered. Onboarding and Orientation were streamlined and efficient.  HR is readily, and happily available to assist in benefits, eliminating that change of job stress many people face.  I'm excited looking forward to making a full career here at Plaza Healthcare for many years to come.  I could not have picked a better place to work!

I have worked for Plaza going on 7 months and could not be more happy to be here and a part of the Plaza Family. They truly care and lead with heart, compassion and example. Our leadership are always looking for ways to improve not only the company but to guide us in personal growth and to make sure that not only the residents are taken care of but that us as employees are as well. When Covid - 19 hit the US Plaza stepped up right away to make sure we felt safe and our concerns were heard. The safety and precautions put into place for our residents and staff are the best I have seen anywhere. Plaza has genuine love for each of us as employees and love for the residents. We are blessed with some of the best leaders and staff I have ever had the chance to work with. Our leadership also is very big on employee appreciation. From snack carts to BBQs. They let us know that we are important and not just numbers. If you are looking for a place to grow your knowledge and work in a family like atmosphere this is the place for you. If you are looking for some of the most caring staff to truly love your family member like their own this is the place for your loved one. We care. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me here at Plaza.

I have worked at Plaza for six years as a nurse.  At Plaza the staff is made to feel appreciated. They have provided staff appreciation meals monthly on every shift, Amazing Christmas parties including gifts for every staff member. Post survey parties with money booths and giveaways that include large flat screen televisions and more.  I love that when you work here family comes first.  Management really cares about your work home life balance. They care about your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your family.  Even to the point of providing payroll advances that can be pay back over time in times of emergencies. They have had several fund raisers for staff that had unforeseen tragedies in their families. At Plaza we are given holidays for Easter and Mothers day. I have never had those days anywhere I have worked before.  

Yes, we work hard. Providing quality care is expected. Our quality care has made us a five star facility and we plan to stay there.

Plaza Healthcare was an amazing place for me to work. I learned more about how to communicate with all types of people; patients, co-workers, nurses, doctors, cna's, other therapy staff, and maintenance and housekeeping. I truly cared for the needs of not only the patient, but their loved ones who visited as well. I absolutely LOVED this job and would be there still if it weren't for the fact that my child needed a surgery across the country. The people I worked for, and with, brightened my day, every shift, every day. I learned so much from co-workers. I learned what kind of therapist I wanted to be, as well as what not to become. The team I worked with was incredible and we were friends, not merely co-workers. Management was involved and always had an open door policy. The hardest part of this job would be when we lost a patient. I loved this job and will always be grateful for my experience there.

A typical day at Plaza Healthcare is rewarding. Employees are kind and always eager to help when asked. This act of kindness makes one feel included in a team on the same mission. From the front receptionist to the housekeepers and all staff members in between, it is apparent that the staff cares and puts their heart into helping the patients. The care is genuine and timely, with an effort to exceed the resident's expectations. Management takes the time to know their employees and makes them feel welcome. They invest in their employees with free lunches, raffles, rewards, and honors, making us feel valued. The workplace culture is one of collaboration, which spills over to creative problem-solving. The hardest part of the job is understanding some of the non-verbal residents. The most enjoyable part of the job is taking the time to listen to the residents and determine their needs.

I have worked at Plaza Healthcare for almost 16 years. I have worked in different roles in our entity and I Love to work here. I enjoy my daily environment with all of my co-workers and management. Our CEO is the best and Nobody can have him, he truly cares about his employees and goes above and beyond to assist us individually. My work day is clearly busy but I enjoy my responsibilities since I can interact with so many different characters in my day as much as try to help them.As for  our management team I enjoy that we works together to bring positive changes and future enhancements to our team. I think the hardest part of my job is to fairly approve PTO request around the same dates to keep everyone happy. My most enjoyable part of my job is helping staff in so many different situations around their work and home life with schedules, shift changes and etcetera. 

PHC is a very high acuity SNF that is unlike others you will find in the Valley. With that comes challenges, but also opportunities to learn and grow as a nurse/CNA. The staff development dept is always providing training, the nursing management is supportive and communicates well with staff, and the administration team strives to show their thanks to their employees. Plaza has multiple nursing departments within, including, a IV team, a wound care team, a lab team and a Dialysis team. There is also full time Respiratory therapy dept that manage the airway patients. Because of the high acuity, this can be a difficult building to work in, but they provide you the resources needed to be successful and give high quality Patient care. I have worked in a lot of SNF in multiple states and have found that none are perfect, but Plaza is by far the best I have work at.

A typical day at work starts with happy good mornings from the executive director to the housekeepers and all in between. On any given day there is something to be learned or taught,from each other, as coworkers we all have different backgrounds but one common goal that is to give are all to our residents. The hardest part of my job is having to let go of a patient who has been a part of your life whether a week or years it does not get easier, on the other hand watching a patient work hard and go home knowing you played a part priceless. We have great leadership in our managers Plaza is a great company to work for

Plaza Healthcare is a great facility to work for. The resident's admitted to Plaza are high in acuity which is great for employees to hone in on their critical caring skills, both nursing and CNAS. 
All staff, from housekeeping to management, work together to ensure that residents are taken care of. It truly does take teamwork to ensure the best outcome for the resident. 
Staff retention committee is good at providing treats for staff and rewards staff for their hard work. Activities will come around with music and provide treats for staff as well. 
The hardest part of the job are the acuity of the residents but if you have a great work partner, it makes the shift go smoother.
