My opinion about Plymouth rock assurance is that the company overall tries to create a good work environment. The people that I work with their or genuinely good-hearted fun nature people. Great diversity from older to younger with varying ethnic backgrounds. Direct management tries to be helpful and supportive as you going through the learning curve of understanding what it means to be an insurance sales rep on the phone. But one of my major issues, as I reflect on my experience there, is that the training was severely lacking in that as a lay person coming into the home and auto insurance business I felt that idea that you can just watch a couple of slide presentations and do a couple of quizzes was considered training. In my previous experience working in other corporations, training was hands-on in that you were giving real-life scenarios doing your training sessions that would better prepare you for what it's really like to be on the phone answering questions and servicing customer needs. And sadly this was not the case and for the most part, you were left on your older try to figure it out on your own. If your brand new into the insurance business selling home and auto insurance I would recommend that you try one of the larger companies in your area because of Plymouth best works for those who have previous industry experience. At the end of the day, this is a sales job in their sales numbers that you have to perform and produce and the learning curve would be a great hindrance to anyone who's trying to come into this industry and be on top of former if they didn't have any previous work experience.

Did not work here very long, just a few months. As a result, my opinion will largely focus on the training portion for Customer Service Reps(CSR). 

The training is roughly one month long, the trainer is very nice and will answer any questions you may have, always in a pleasant manner. The training program itself, however, is fairly hectic and uninformative. You are ultimately trained by many of the supervisors and team leads. Almost all of which have been with the company for at least a decade. This leads to some ineffective approaches a teaching concepts and many are wrong on details critical to the position. 

They also put the billing portion of training toward the very end, and do a poor job of explaining how to work the varied, outdated, databases that are need to handle billing questions, which account for roughly 90% of the job. I think they need to rework the training schedule, and hire a second trainer, as their current one has to go between multiple training classes and really only trains you around 60% of the time anyway. 

Overall, many of the people you speak to are oddly enthusiastic about working in an insurance call center, calling it the "best job they've ever had," while regularly adding that they aren't told to say that. The people are nice but it just seems fake. 

If you really need a job quick, id say apply. But if you don't like the idea of working weekends, or answering calls, one after another, for 8 hours straight, i'd recommend waiting for another opportunity.

The people that you meet and work with are truly wonderful people, unfortunately, the same cannot be said about upper management. There is a severe disconnect between the field staff and the field management. The turnover rate is very high, since December 2022 several managers and adjusters have left the company, either going back to their previous carrier or becoming an IA. 
The claims system is ancient and despite multiple conversations from the adjusters who are forced to use it daily there has been no indication that they plan on upgrading to a more current and fluid claim system.
There are 5 separate programs you are required to use daily for each claim, the property field adjusters are receiving 10-12 claims a week, and setting up a new claim takes an hour. When you receive 10 new assignments on a Monday, it is impossible to properly set up the claim files per company guidelines and perform a timely inspection. 
If you take time off the company does not turn you off claims. You will receive claims up until the day you leave and the moment you return. If you have a family, this is not the company for you. 

Overall, this wasn’t a bad gig. The people you worked with directly were wonderful. I can’t name a person I wasn’t fond of. The people in your office really embody the “culture” there. They’re big on their culture. However, the higher up you go, the less you seem to give a heck about what the people on the bottom tiers are experiencing. Claims is hard work. So it was very much a revolving door, and if you stayed, you were rewarded with everyone else’s work. The time off leaves much to be desired. The sick day policy was abysmal, not sure how it was handled after COVID. You get 3 “occurrences” in a rolling year. Each time you call out is 1 occurrence (if you call out multiple days in a row, that’s only 1). If you have kids, 3 adds up pretty quickly. 
They give you a raise every year, but it’s always 1% of your salary. They justify it by saying that if the company has a bad year, they can still afford to give you a raise. However, the company grows exponentially every single year and they’re really not giving people a fair raise considering. 
Over all though, the work was busy but mostly straightforward. Health benefits were decent. Salary was ok. Not the worst place to be.

They recognized your effort.
When they get great feedback from customers surveys. You could get gift cards or other rewards as a result of that.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The amount of tasks you have to work could be a lot when you get a small window of downtime between calls to get them done.  But it will become manageable with experience.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Wow! They have a fun culture of rewards for your efforts.  You get bonus at the beginning of next year.  There are free snacks provided every day, with free drinks of coffee tea and hot chocolate.  Often they provide free lunch to everyone. Many holidays are celebrated with decorations of the whole floor.  There both virtual games like Jeopardy. There is a great outing event once a year to say thank you to your hard work. It is fun to work there. Almost like Google. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy with a lot of calls and tasks to accomplish when off the phone.

Extremely busy and no time to breathe. They are understaffed and we are overworked. Yet, the higher ups don't care, but instead, implement even more rules and regulations making the job 10x harder than it already is. It is always changing with more rules we have to follow which usually leads to more work and then more stress. There is an enormous amount of calls daily and then on top of that, you have to use your "work break" to do any follow ups, so you pretty much only have your lunch time to take a breather. Definitely feel like just a number to them and not actually valued as a human being. If you value your peace of mind and sanity, then it is strongly recommended that you do not work here.

The benefits. The company has great health benefits and retirement benefits which are generally uncommon

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Promotions and development are more based upon simple seniority than they are based upon actual skills and abilities.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment in the service center is quite relaxed and generally the company works to keep the environment open and agreeable. Multiple supervisors have said, "I won't fire someone for being bad at their job, I will just train them better... "

The upside of this is that it's a comfortable place to work and a secure one. The downside is that incompetence abounds! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
In the service center you are on the phone's pretty much 100% of your day, except for lunch, break, and following up on phone calls. All of your time is measured closely.

There's not a claims job out there that doesn't involve a huge workload.   This company tries to keep it manageable, but in exchange they want things to be perfect. The have the highest standards.  As most of the people I worked with were on anti-anxiety meds, I'd have to say that the workload and expectations were out of balance.  I put in extra hours to keep the quality up. Management does have an open door. They will listen. They are very decent about personal things like doctor's visits and the occasional child care issues. Their pay is among the best in their sphere.  Management has regular meetings to update us on the company's performance and goals. I would not have left (mostly due to salary and accrued vacation) had I not moved out of the area.

The option for remote or hybrid work arrangements has been completely eliminated.

There's minimal support or collaboration from current team members.

Work-life balance is severely impacted due to strict and often unrealistic delivery timelines.

There appears to be a noticeable bias in favor of full-time employees (FTEs).

Opportunities to transition from contract to full-time status are very limited.

Compensation for contract roles is below industry standards.

The technology stack is outdated, offering minimal room for skill development or personal growth.

Contract employees face numerous restrictions, with limited access to opportunities for both personal and professional development.

Additionally, there have been frequent layoffs affecting only contract staff. A reliable internal source has indicated that approximately 10% of IT personnel may be impacted in the current quarter.
