What is the best part of working at the company?
When I had my old boss, the new boss that came on he's trying to make make a name for herself and regret when the day she took over I should have retired

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When my new boss took over everything got stressful for everybody in the whole office and Warehouse and she does not have a clue how to run an office or a warehouse

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Before the new boss took over it was a great working environment we all got our work done we're all we're happy we all didn't have to watch our backs like we did now.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was a great day when a male boss was there we could come in get started make our out calls and take orders from clients being able to do a lot more for clients and not have to worry about what the boss is going to think or do to you if you messed up

As an outside sales rep.  Was required by the manager at the time to drive 72 miles each way to work with the inside sales reps to help answer phones and takes orders for the last 3 months.  Not able to be reimbursed for my gas because there was a stipulation that in order to be reimbursed you had to visit an account after leaving your house as your first call, so if you went to the office and back home, there was no reimbursement.  So I was loosing money on gas and not able to be in the field as I wanted to in order to gain more sales.

New Branch Manager Josh Retish has zero distribution background, zero plastics knowledge plays favorites and deos not fairly allocate profit sharing to the productive members of the branch.
Also fired people using "At Will Employer" to hire less/zero experienced people for less pay.
He has turned a great place to work, and the top profitable branch in CA into a grindhouse and will overcharge customers any time he can.

Port Plastics seems like the best place to set yourself up for the future. But in reality, you get little to no training and they will force you to work in roles that have in stake in accomplishing the daily tasks set forth in the job description. 

You will be forced to other roles because they do not want to expend the extra effort in finding new employees for certain roles.

The managers and bosses never say thank you appreciate any of the hard work that's put in the warehouse and the saw cutting jobs in the orders that are pulled and shipped and received. It's just nice to hear good job from your boss once in awhile

A typical day at work ranged from quoting to selling. I learned how to quote, close the deal, and manage myself. Workplace culture was fine. The hardest part of the job was not knowing what the customer wanted and the most enjoyable part of the job was finally giving what the customer ordered and knowing that you were able to do so.

Learned a lot about plastics and the management team is great.
   Good holiday vacation periods and catered lunches sometimes.

The positives are it's easy to request PTO and there are a lot of company outings.  The negatives are lack of training and a micromanaging boss.  Overall a decent experience 

Food people good working environment. Reality check numbers are everything. As long as you do your job you should be ok and no questions asked. Good luck!
