I was hired as a Graphic Designer, however my daily duties followed
- Answering phones
- Client consults
- Collecting Job information from customers
- Planning technical installs of signage
- Technical drawings and specifications of exactly how the sign must be built as well as every piece of material it will be built with
- You are responsible for finding the build materials, this sometimes involves searching yourself online to find a certain part. 
- All jobs must be spec'd to perfection on paper or they will be rejected and must be corrected, creating many extra hours of work for small details that are ultimately ignored or modified at time of production. 
- Answering phones and emails constantly 
- email chains can get pretty intensive with up to 20 people going back and forth so make sure you have the time to read a book everyday as well.
- Processes are taxing and ever changing. One week the process will be one thing the next it changes and this creates many frustrations throughout the company.
- You sometimes do graphic design but I would say that actual "Graphic Design" is about 10% of the job with the bulk really being technical design and blueprinting installs and dealing with internal processes, emails, and meetings.
- You are also dealing with big name clients and doing big name work, which is nice, however the headaches, assumed responsibility and pay rate make it very undesirable. Being thrown into certain situations at times with little to no details and the expectation that you will perform in an allotted time by someone who does not work in your field is a bit frustrating. 

All and all a great place to work if you like to do meticulous work, are very detail oriented to almost and OCD level, and aren't very opinionated or vocal. But if you are the creative type that is a bit ambitious, or searching for a company that appreciates new ideas and embraces upward growth, I would find somewhere else to work.  You could be here for a very long time before you get anywhere in the company.

 The most unfortunate downfall is the blame game, someone is always responsible or at fault regardless of the many processes and people put in place to prevent such things.  This company could use a bit more concentration on employee and customer rather than intricate processes that only eat up time and make things move very slowly. That in which reflects upon you. Can't say I didn't like working here but I feel they really don't like insight from the people they employ. While there are many inefficiencies, there are the people there who push through and make it work even against so much pressure and time consuming processes. Not much upward growth in the company however, using different measures and review processes they will keep you in a perpetual loop, and if you never ask you will not get a raise and even if you take on more responsibility or are doing a job well beyond the pay grade. Not the worst place i've worked but definitely the place that made me feel like I was not getting paid enough for the level of work that was expected.



Happy to be at this company. learn new things every day and able to grow skills an learn with online courses, crosstraining, and collaborative constructive work environment. Poyant’s are wonderful people to work for and will listen to you and help you find solution to problems, despite how busy they can seem to get sometimes. thankful and proud to work here, give it a chance if you have the opportunity to do so. Trust me.

as far as metal fab jobs go its hard to find a place as well put together as Poyant!  Shop is well kept by its employees & there is frequent team meetings to keep everyone informed, giving a great sense of team unity rather than workplace conflict/drama.    work however dose get slow & when it dose they may let you go

A great company to work for! Everybody there is extremely helpful and wants to see you succeed. Plenty of work for you on a daily basis. Management is great and are very supportive. All coworkers are extremely friendly. The work can be stressful but it’s a company that always has your back and if you make a mistake it’s a team effort to figure out how to correct it. I miss working here 

Dont work here.... I worked here when i was fresh out of high school. I cut  production times in half..... started off getting payed very little and barely got any raises. I left went to school got more experience as a welder and tried them out again. I should have known better.... same story..... really regret giving them a second shot.... dont work here....

Each day starts with a scheduling meeting for customer calls, whether for sign installation or sign repairs.  

High impact workload. Fast paced atmosphere work environment.

Hardest part is keeping track of the service calls due to location, service need, and severity.

I love working here i feel challenged in my position and appreciated as well. Most of my coworkers are great and often willing to help out whenever possible. I hope to be here for a long time!

Bad place to work for.no respect.          Work is always rushed. I was new to the company and being asked how things where going to be built on a “custom job”. You could give em the world they will ask for more and give you nothing.
