I worked at Preferred for several years and can easily say, it was one of the BEST places of employment I ever had. The standard working hours for office staff was 8:30am/9am- 5pm. Rarely, did any scheduler need to stay past 5pm as most schedulers worked as a team to ensure all visits were covered for the following day-which leads to a nice work/life balance if you have to pick up kids from aftercare, etc. 
The atmosphere is supportive and collaborative. Somebody is always willing to assist you if you need help. HR is consistently responsive with whatever you need and the pay/benefits are competitive. 
The clinicians are exceptional. Most clinicians (and office/managerial staff) have remained with the company for many years which shows you how loyal the employees are to this company.
I would recommend anyone looking to apply, to do so- as positions are not open often here! 






What is the best part of working at the company?
The benefits are pretty good and they do offer insurance and 401(k). If you work inside the office, the hours are great because you do not work on the weekends unless you volunteer. There are many staff members that are great, but management is not so great. Too much of an ego. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management. There are tooo many egos between the manager and his wife. Lots of whispers amd fighting in the office and big big egos.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nothing special. It’s like any other place. You work with who you work with and respect cultures and values.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and short staffed like any where else. I think sometimes patient care is not valued as much as it should be. It’s all about who has Medicare and what they are getting paid.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The schedule flexibility was the best part. Monday to Friday, you are responsible to call and schedule the visit time. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are no guaranteed visits (hours), even as a full-time employee. The company never fulfilled my 35 full-time visits. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone was friendly and respectful.  From the front desk to my supervisor

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You must call and schedule each visit the day prior; I would typically start my shift at 930am and finish by 230pm.

My experience at Preferred Care has been excellent.  Our top priority is to provide exceptional care to our patients.  It is fast paced and stressful at times, however everyone is friendly and supportive of one another.  Leadership is strong and positive...always looking for ways to improve the health of people in our community.  I feel trusted, supported, and that I am making a positive impact on my patients' lives.  Best job I've ever had.  So excited for the future and where this company is going.

Nothing. Toxic environment. Supervisors are bullies and leadership supports that

Unhelpful supervisory staff with unrealistic expectations

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, stressful, unsupported. High expectations, poor leadership

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Days are very long. High expectations to see many patients resulting in charting late into the evening

I was hired as a scheduling coordinator with only the experience as a CNA/HHA, no experience as a scheduler.  I was also immediately part of a TEAM that works together to get the job done, not only in the office that I am at, but along side our other office as well. 

I have watched as there has been changes in staff, but always for the better, and management never hesitates to step up when asked or needed.

Preferred Care is a busy, fast-paced agency. As a field RN, there was never a lack of work. The home health setting is challenging because much of your work is done independently, but the Clinical Managers in the office are supportive and willing to assist field staff. I would recommend Preferred Care to prospective job seekers, it's a solid company with some of the most experienced staff in the area.

I love home health and everything involved in it as far as field work and patient care goes. Unfortunately the management level of this company has zero desire to care for the employees they staff. Communications go unacknowledged, issues presented are ignored, and if you speak up regarding something you’re labeled a problem. Picture the mean girls from high school running an office and that’s what you’ll experience as an employee. 

I have worked at Preferred Care Home Health for four years and it has been an excellent experience. It is a very busy company and there are no shortage of work available. Working for a home health agency requires the ability to work independently and have excellent critical thinking skills. The CEO is very professional and approachable if there are issues that need to be addressed. Office staff is friendly, professional and easy to work with.

I worked at Preferred Care for a year as an RN. The supervisors and schedulers were great to work with and were supportive. I found my teammates to be professional and collegial.  The workload was intense and I charted late into the night often - this was the downside as I was salaried. Overall, it was a positive experience and I would go back to work for them again if I wanted to work in home health
