For the few months that I've been here, I can honestly say that this agency does great work and I'm proud to say I am a team member. I've heard horror stories about other agencies, the caregivers were had little options so they stayed and received sub-par care. Until they discovered our agency. Preferred Touch level of commitment to their patients is impeccable with 24/7 access to the agency, back-up system for nurses in case of emergency that a nurse cannot fulfill a shift (another competent nurse will take their shift so patient will not be without proper care), and a dedicated team to be patient's advocate. Being a part of this company is good to for heart too! Hearing all these heart-warming stories, the appreciation from the patients/caregivers, it is life-changing to know that I was able to make a positive difference by being part of this agency. Every day I got in the office and started my day by answering phone calls, I also would review outstanding notes from nurses. I would call the nurses to get their notes in for billing purposes, and then I will start review doctors orders that needed to be signed. I learned a lot with this company, but home health is very stressful will nurses o do their notes. My manager was the best, she started teaching me things about HR filing and running back ground checks. My co workers all had different things to do so everyone was in their own office. I really enjoyed this job and everyone there. The hardest part probably was when doctors took to long to sign documents, because with out a signature our company wouldn't get paid for it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They are very respectful when addressing employees. None hostile environment. The scheduler the office employees, payroll in 33511 area superb to deal with, just professionalism. I stay where I'm happy.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing what the family is like or if thede are animals in the home, so before taking a position I take advantage of the meet and greets. Its good for the family to know who they are getting to work with their child as well. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nonhostile for the most. You work independently.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Calm, fun interactions with the babies.

Each nurse is assigned a home health case, sometimes more than one case. A schedule is made for 8, 12, or 16 hr shifts. Work setting is home environment, could also be a group home and also care for pediatric patients at school.
Specialty cases include pediatric pt with g-tubes, tracheotomy, and even care for hospice patients.
Each family is different and may have different cultures and expectations.
Enjoyable parts of the job include getting to know an individual patient and their parent's as you spend time in their home.
The hardest part of the job include cultural differences of some families and being the only caregiver present on the case.

Got tired of the hospital setting, the idea of one on one care is very interesting to me.  I've talked to a few company before giving this one a shot.  Many of the home health concept is new but make sense, and this company has the experience and knowledge to make me feel at ease with my new journey into something not as intense the PICU.  The pay make sense for what it is, and I'm in a position in my life to be grateful for the level of intensity for the 1 on 1 care.  I've heard horror stories of home health agencies, this is not one of them.

The professional and friendly employees.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I believe as a seasoned RN they just are limited to the amount of pay per hour they can give, They would pay more if they had the ability to do so. They truly want to retain their employees.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very accepting and multicultural 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work your assigned schedule. They always have after hour assistance. They provide empathy and concern with their employees.

There were lots of opportunities to grow but a lot of it was trial by fire.  the parents I worked with provided more training than the staff/company.  I did receive a trach care class prior to taking care of a trach patient.  Other than that I feel like the management dealt with issues in  a reactionary, putting out fires/warning others not to make the same mistake, instead of being proactive and providing more mentorship, instruction, and written guidelines.

Pay is $20.00 per hour. Nothing extra for holidays or weekends. No night differential. No benefits. God help you you have another job because they will just tell you they have no work available and they will not provide you any work. Plan on paying for any exams that they request. They will also withhold pay for weeks. 

They will give you the worse possible case first and then determine it they want to keep you. The case I had numerous other nurse refused to handle the case.

I am so so happy that I was fortunate enough to find preferred touch home care, they are so very kind to me and always communicate every little detail. There is always lots of work in the event i want more or just simply overtime. This company is just simply amazing with all the wonderful staff. I couldn't be happier! thank you thank you thank you!!!

This job works around my schedule really well. I’m always well informed of what’s going on (like my schedule and available new cases). My patients are so incredible and adorable. They really make being a nurse feel so much more rewarding than when I used to work at a hospital. Also since I’ve started, they now offer benefits plus I can work overtime.
