Management ignores major issues brought to their attention. Workers get away with neglect, no one ever gets reprimanded and management knows it's happening. If you're a good worker, have fun carrying the weight of your newly certified paperweight of a coworker. If you can find them! I've seen people get washed up 7 hours into the shift for the FIRST TIME, and then they'll just use wet wipes. Sit on a phone for an hour and a half talking with FaceTime before informing you they're taking their lunch break. After returning an hour later, they'll plop down at a desk and continue their conversation! They'll put the phone down for 10 seconds so you can come help them with a transfer, then you'll hear them apologize to their friend for not being able to talk those 10 seconds before you're even out of the room. 

Dietary doesn't bring enough food up for meals. If a resident has a different choice picked out for a meal it's gonna be another 10 minutes for that tray to get made. If they're in the dining room they'll have fun watching everyone finish eating before getting their food. One wing of a floor might get their trays by the time the people in the dining room have had their soup, entree, and are just finishing their dessert. Then you can start feeding the residents unable to feed themselves lukewarm food, or pureed cold sandwiches in undivided plates next to/on top of mashed potatoes and soup.

The pay is good, if you have no work ethic definitely apply here. People will hate you but management never reviews you at that 90 day mark and says it's not a good fit. Maybe at that point you can switch to 12s and only be responsible for cleaning up 2 people in an entire half a shift. Leaving that person stupid enough to relieve you with 10 people and a shower to get done in the other 4 hours. Then they go check the people you "washed up" during last rounds and discover they're both complete bed changes. No worries though, you'll get away with it. I can only hope that your complete lack of empathy towards a living, breathing human being is payed back ten fold when that karma comes back around.

I worked 5+ years for this company.  Supervisors (all the way up to administration) are not professional.  They spend a lot of time fraternizing with staff they are in charge of.  They take care of the staff they spend time with despite poor performance.  If they do not like you they will go out of their way to give out difficult assignments and deny vacation requests.   If anyone is disciplined, everyone knows by the next day.  Agency is constantly covering.  They cannot hold on to staff due to poor unprofessional management.  Scheduling is strict and inflexible.  They make you work a fixed schedule.  It is very hard to get requests approved.  Corporate does all the scheduling and the scheduler has no pull
 Ratios are terrible especially at night.  The RN supervisor constantly has to manage an entire floor of 50+ patients and manage the building.  This is a big reason why I am no longer working there.  Way too much risk for how they treat you.  It was not always been this bad but has gone down hill in the last 3 years.  I strongly urge folks to steer clear.  Protect your license and certificate earned.  If you interested in this company, make sure you know what you are getting into.  This place has potential to be great but to do that they need a full overall of upper management staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents can make a nurse feel valuable and needed. Their need is felt in your heart. Many nurses and other workers stayed at the same facility during covid. Many more left then stayed. Most who left did it for the higher wages. We workers who stayed feel low down for having done so. No honorable feeling for our services. It's such a shame for such honorable workers after a pandemic.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant change in management. Hiring many without any experience. I am not sure if this is because they are non-profit. I felt they did not manage the company money properly and were constantly building new branches. They should have made what they had great.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There was a lot of tension and uneasy feeling in myself and my college's. We always felt like we were being sold or something bad was going to happen. They stopped having regular meetings with staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Punch in. Get a report on the days events. Make rounds. Pass medication, comfort, and do treatments. Document what happened on my shift. Report to the next nurse.

The plus is the organization offers a CNA program where you can get paid  to train and have a job immediately afterwards. However, once you leave the program, you won't matter. Why? Because very few employees stay after the class. My coworkers made the difference because the teamwork is good but everyone is overworked and getting paid low rates. Management won't effectively communicate and will throw you under the bus. Staffing will send you home or cause you to work harder because of their errors. One supervisor made work unbearable. I was called out by this supervisor over something that was extremely important and unsafe in front of co-workers and another family member. This "supervisor" was discussing the resident's personal issues in the hallway in front of other residents' rooms! After this happened I was finished. Consider your options, don't settle as a healthcare employee, we are in demand and should not have to stay in an unwelcoming environment. Otherwise, this facility keeps the appearance looking good and the residents are cared for.

This Company is a complete cluster. Management is one of two things. Completely lazy, unmotivated, and couldn't care less. The other is overbearing, micromanaging, and so machine like they can't care about the residents and a much more akin to a T-1000 from terminator. Please stay away from this place, I have been employed for 2 months and it is the worst decision of my life. The only reason I am still here is because I am in the process of getting my credentials to work security in some real facet. This place is not kind to any employee within it. I am forced to work a swing shift through the middle of the week because I was hired full time midnight for a position that didn't exist. They also have the audacity to offer $9.18 as competitive pay in the security field with a measly 2% raise yearly. If you are at the end of your rope this will work for about 6 months until you can find something better. This company is not good to it's employees or it's residents. I wouldn't even leave my grandmother's corpse here let alone check in a live resident, let alone spend nearly everyday working here.

I worked at Presbyterian Senior Care for 10 monthe as a private care giver.  In that time I met with all the requirements of the job. I have seven years experience as a a caregiver.  I knew the client's family and they were pleased with my work. I recieved one performance related report that was performance related that I responded to in a constructive and satifactory way, however, because my client's needs changed, I was fired from the job without any warning, even though I followed all careplans and directives from the company.The "performance" related problem that was cited was, in my opinion, a result of a change in the client's condition and response to the existing care plan and not negligence on my part. If anything, it shows that the management was looking for a scapegoat because they are incapable of providing for the comprehensive care of the client.

My job is enjoyable most days. It is very much the same day in and day out. I enjoy working with my employees and the management staff. I enjoy working with the elderly as well as people from other departments. I have made a lot of very good friends in and out of my department I am very pleased that I have the oppertunity to enrole in the programs for health insurance and other benifits. Some that I contribute to and others that are given to me. The hardest part of the job is that things are not always dealt with across the board here. There are favorites and they are given higher degrees of securities that are not given to others whom are as productive as the previous employees. I am not in favor of that and it hurts my heart sometimes to see these things happen and that they are above my reach as having to make a difference in these choices.

I have been working within the Presbyterian SeniorCare Network for a month and a half now, and this is by far the best employer that I have ever had. Not only are my hours extremely flexible to revolve around my personal life, but if I need to call off for a valid reason then they don't scold nor question me. The staff are so friendly, and the training is very hands-on and pertains to my particular role within my facility. The only downside is that, along with other healthcare facilities, we are regularly short staffed which can take a toll on those who are constantly signing on to extra shifts throughout the day/evening/night. It's not the network's fault, as it is getting much harder to find those who are willing to take on the assortment of positions that the network has to offer. Other than that, everything is great!

PSC does not live up to its mission and values statements. The company is Not grounded in Christ like values when Managers retaliate against employees for coming forward about issues. There is no engaging and meaningful work, when you are not permitted to collaborate. The atmosphere is more of a dictatorship. Be quiet and do as your told, or you have options. Very Hostile work environment. Employees can not address concerns through the chain of command, as it is  grid locked and you will loose your job for filing a complaint. Terrible Corporate Managers and They do not care about the residents. The place smells of urine and the residents have to wait an hour in the dining room to be fed. (hot dogs and tater tots, as well as other processed foods and canned vegetables.-nothing is fresh)

Severely understaffed, management will fire aides with YEARS of service for the most insignificant reasons. Most of the "higher ups" are on a power trip and will make your experience miserable. The ADON allowed me to be left alone on a floor even though I haven't taken the cna certification class which is highly illegal. They play favorites and will find any reason to dislike a worker, once that happens the worker is usually fired. It's like high school drama meets survivor.  Several of my co-workers who are black we're fired because of "bad attitudes" but my white co-workers who call off constantly (well past the 10 occurrence limit) are forgiven and kept on the schedule. Seems a bit racist to me. I've only worked here for two months and I'm already searching for a new job. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
