Not all managers are treated equally.  One manager can be disrespectful, sexist and at times even racist.  Has made many inappropriate comments and when asked to do something other than that manager wants to do out comes the snarky remarks and bad attitude.  And all that manager gets is "Well, that's just the way that manager is"  Yet, another manager does the same thing that manager gets written up and let go for it.  Favoritism much?  
It's that way with employees as well.  While one group in a certain section are often out of uniform, can be found on their cell phones in the managers office and show less than positive attitudes are left alone, other employees when out of uniform get talked to about it in front of other employees embarrassing them .  If found on their cell phone the manager is told to write them up.
The poor kitchen staff are under paid and work with poor equipment.  A steamer that constantly needs to be refilled because they won't run a water line to it.  A walk-in door that hasn't closed correctly in over a year causing so much condensation on the floor it actually leaves pools of water.  Shelves in the walk in are rusted and when State Health came in and put it on the report, the solution was to "repaint the shelves".  Slicer blade cover doesn't fit on the slicer correctly making it unsafe for the employees to use and causes food waste.  In the summer the kitchen has got up to 110 degrees F because they won't fix the air conditioning.  There is not a working hood fan in the Dish washing station.  These are not new problems.  These problems have been going on for at least a year if not longer.  
The previous DSM was making approximately 50,000 + a year.  After they removed that employee the top of the scale was advertised at 40,000.  
The company will not compensate employees for the increase in minimum wage increases so employees that have been there for years are making as much as new employees.

Most of the coworkers are nice and helpful. When I reported a coworker for doing a 2 person transfer by herself she didnt even get in trouble. She told me I was too slow but she refused to ever help me with call lights or help with "my rooms" even though administration told us we share the entire hallway. The med aids and most of the nurses are nice. I had a bit of a problem when an aid didnt show up for work so I had the full 23 person hallway to myself. I was told another aid would come in by 7pm but she didnt show up til 8pm. I couldn't get showers done. I basically did vitals and call lights while helping the one person transfers get up for dinner. A 2 person resident insisted on getting up and I was able to get another person to help me get this resident up. When it came time to get her to bed I had to wait for the other aid to come in and she was an hour late. The resident was mad and I kept apologizing. By the time the other aid had gotten there everyone was down for the night. The entire time administration was there and no one stepped in to help me. I also had to step to another hall for an hour or two going back and forth because a second aid on another hall didnt show up for work as well. They found someone else to help on that hall. Another night I was put down a hall I was not trained on and the other aid basically had to tell me what to do and when. We ran on our feet 8.5 hours straight not getting lunches or breaks because we were so behind. Occassionally the hall nurse helped but that was all. We both stayed 30 mins late to get charting done. All the while we had a staff meeting where admins told us CNAS we weren't spending enough time with the residents to make them feel at home... WHAT TIME? We were constantly running from room to room giving care and handing people their call lights. We dont have anymore time than that. Its complete joke when you are doing the best you can and then being told you arent doing enough or well enough but not one of them will step on the floor. It's a joke. They pay under $15 an hour.

as every job does, there are pros and cons. i wouldn't say this was the worst place i've ever worked at, but it's definitely not the best. the residents are some of the sweetest, most appreciative people you'll ever meet. as far as the work load goes, you have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off (ESPECIALLY if you are working a morning shift..) and are usually understaffed. a typical day consists of person a complaining to person b about person c. when you're not understaffed and people arent spending their time socializing, its not a bad place to work. 

as far as management goes, i never really worked with them, so i dont have a huge opinion. i definitely heard tons of gossip but most of the complaints did not apply to me (or i simply didnt care) 

the only real downside to working there is that there's almost no pay raises..ever. it doesn't really matter if you have experience, you're going to get paid the same as the person who's only been doing your position for a week or so. unless you are planning on making a career in the nursing field, there is little to no room for advancement. 

turnover rate is very very high, so expect to almost always be short (although its a real treat when you have a full staff) and expect to probably work long hours atleast once or twice a week so that other people can get the weekend off. 

my advice, LISTEN to your employees and their concerns. the constant turn over would most likely die down if management would listen to what their employees had to say AND properly compensate them for their hard work.

i have no bad feelings towards prestige, just was able to find a higher paying job with better hours.

I wish I would've read some of these reviews before accepting this job offer. The pay is not worth all the work you do as a PCA, 9.50/hr!!!! I've worked plenty of noc shifts alone with more than 80 residents to myself! Yes, most are sleeping, but what do you do if there's an emergency(more than 1 fall, fire, etc.)!!!!??? How is it even possible to save all these residents with just one caregiver? It's not! On the Expressions side the employees LIE to the residents with Dementia and tell them that their wife, daughter, family is there to visit them when in reality they are tricking them into taking their meds, shower, eating, going on a bus trip. I felt like that it was SO WRONG for these caregivers to be taking advantage that these residents who don't choose to have this disease. Another thing is that they are SO STINGY on overtime! In the last placed I worked appreciated you staying that extra .5 hour to help your coworkers. I was in the middle of helping another caregiver take a resident to the bathroom and my supervisor came in and told me I had to go home. Like really? Do you not see that I am trying to help her out so she and the resident don't end up hurt? This is another example of staffing issues in this place! They are so understaffed! I honestly hope that these hiring managers do a better job of really going over the exact details of what this job entails as a PCA to future employees because from what the job description was written and described to me, it does not even come close to the actual job you'll be doing.

When I came for my interview, the girls interviewing me asked me 3 questions, all the while paying more attention to their phones then my answers, then said cool, when can you start?
My first day training I noticed that this facility is very dirty. I never felt like the bathrooms were fully clean, let alone door handles/railings, the walls and/or residents rooms. 
This facility has a great group of residents that were very interesting to get to know. I often felt sad because a lot of these residents never leave their apartments, or are even offered an escort to activities. Few activities are scheduled, and very few attend. 
Most of your day as a PCA will be spent taking/delivering room tray orders, and answering call lights, that will more than likely just be a med request or something of that nature. I was never really assigned a section, and the building was supposed to be shared by the two PCA’s scheduled, but it always ended up being one or the other doing the most work. There is no structure to the day or routine to follow. Many residents never get their showers/laundry done because no one is ever given the responsibility to do it, or held accountable. 
Most of the people working here if you ask around, have all worked there less than a year, if that doesn’t tell you something. They had gone through 3 or 4 nurses in the length of time I worked there, which wasn’t long.

Speaking for the Puyallup facility-
management has no concept of what it is like to have 18-22 patients on the floor, nurses get blamed for the fact that the medications are not there, the admissions coordinator has NO medical background and admits patients who are not appropriate for the facility (I once was sent a trach patient when we had no suction or trach supplies, let alone emergency supplies). Management allows patients to treat this like a hotel rather than a care facility (ie the patient is always right even when they’re not the most acute). Patient assignments DO NOT take into consideration level of care/needs/acuity - you will have 8 totally dependent care patients and/or dressing changes out of your 20 assigned patients and then have management down your back about not bringing someone applesauce or a pillow fast enough. Day shift milks the clock, leaving tasks for evening shift but they take an hour to get report in the morning from night shift and then will “chart” for 1.5 hours AFTER their shift on the clock, but again - didn’t have time to complete their tasks on their shift. The building is disgusting and management is seedy, asking nurses to change their charting to make the facility look better. Also - they accept known elopement patients who need memory care even though the building is not equipped, nor staffed, for those needs.

This place is very hectic, stressful, and under staffed. I worked as an CNA for a short while. (1 month) it was very unprofessional. They never used gait belts when transferring residents, they are horrible with hand hygiene, they violate HIPPA laws constantly. Being that I was a new person I was never trained properly. The other CNAs ignored I was there. They ignored call lights if it wasn't their residents. You get assigned around 7 residents, and 6 of them are full assist. No one will help you with them so you are stuck doing it alone.  I witnessed a CNA using a hoyer on a resident by herself when you have to use it with 2 people at all time. You don't get your breaks. CNA gossip all day about the residents. This place is a complete mess. The residents are so rude and seem to think you are their personal slave. Then on top of everything you have 30 min of charting to get done at the end of each shift. This place needs to be shut down. I don't see how they have a CNA training program and their CNAs don't follow protocol. They act as if they were never trained and run it as if it was an ALF. It's a total mess. On top of it all they did not give me my hours from when I would stay 30 to 40 mins after my shift charting or waiting for my relief to get there. There were days I didn't take my lunch and they didn't pay me for it.  The building is old and very dirty. The CNAs are very lazy.

I used to work as a PCA @ the West Hills facility in Corvallis. I was a loyal employee to them for nearly 2 years, went above and beyond, picked up my coworkers slack, and often got screwed over by the management team. Management lacked compassion and understanding. I was always denied PTO and was ridiculed for my weak immune system on multiple occasions, some resulting in unnecessary write ups and being told I didn't take my position seriously. I was threatened to be let go on multiple occasions as well. When my grandfather passed away i was given a minimum of 2 DAYS of grieving, without pay. At least 2 days a week I would be scheduled to work a whole 8 hour shift that consisted of taking care of 53+ residents all on my own because they were clearly incompetent when it came to hiring dependable caregivers. Finally gave up hope in March and left, after 8 months of recurring stress dreams and physical illness due to extreme exhaustion and mental turmoil. Because of something they couldn't manage, I ended my shifts most night crying uncontrollably thinking that I was the one who was letting my residents down. Don't waste your time. Leaving this company was the best decision I've made in a long while.

If you're looking for your first job as a CNA, nurse, CMA, etc. Prestige and their many buildings will gladly hire you. Benefits are subpar, health insurance is terrible, 401K is lack luster and well below what other companies offer for their matching, and PTO/sick leave are accrued and used as the same. Long-time employees get nothing in terms of award for tenure (10 years+) but a little pin and most often nothing else. Simply put, Prestige is ran like a business without much regard to their patients and the floor staffing.

Specifically I worked at Glisan Care Center for a year. 75% of the nursing staff are a pleasure to work with despite the many shortcomings that Glisan Care Center has. Consistently short-staffed with nursing assistants on all shifts, the absolute worst example I have seen in my career in nursing thus far. Nurses are consistently left to manage a building of 60+ patients on night shifts. Most of the nurses are competent at their duties, however there are few who could use a major attitude adjustment and as such make it difficult to work at the facility. Overall, much of the staff is burnout and there is a large turnover ratio, DNS included. Work here if you need that first initial experience, but don't stay too long.

You just need to fire the Dishwasher work wife and The Dining director who has no common knowledge about American food. He smokes his Electric hooka with his work wife the Dishwasher in the prep area and they don't wash their hands after smoking and from coming outside after smoking. Dining Director has a  Bad temper and cussing throughout kitchen which makes it uncomfortable and strain. Management is all about trying to make him happy so he doesn't come after them since he cooks their food. Dishwasher work wife is out of control.  She walks off the job and gets her job back after threatening a new fellow employee to stab him and threatening him that she will make sure he loses his job. Executive Director attitude is Don't Rock The Boat. No competitive wages and over work employees. They make sure your a part time employee so you don't get benefits but they make you work full time hours so there are no strings attached. This is all true. I Always felt bad for the resident's because some staff treat them bad. All they want is to have younger kids and adults to understand and listen to their life story.
