I worked at Priority Courier Experts for 3 years, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive.

One of the biggest issues was the constant requirement for mandatory overtime. It wasn’t just an occasional expectation; it was a regular burden that disrupted work-life balance and led to significant burnout. Adding to the stress was the company’s problematic attitude toward time off. Employees were often shamed for taking any form of leave, which fostered a culture where taking necessary breaks felt like a personal failure rather than a right.

Micromanagement was another significant issue. The constant scrutiny over every small task stifled creativity and autonomy, making it difficult to feel trusted or valued for my work. Another particularly troubling practice was the public sharing of individual employee performance statistics. This not only invaded privacy but also created unnecessary competition and stress among colleagues. Additionally, employees were required to ask for permission to use the restroom, a practice that felt both disrespectful and infantilizing.

The lack of care from the leadership team was perhaps the most disheartening aspect of my experience. HR, the Vice President, and the President seemed to view employees as mere numbers rather than individuals. There was little to no support or empathy when issues were raised, and it felt as though leadership was more interested in maintaining control and boosting superficial metrics than genuinely addressing employee concerns or fostering a healthy work environment. 

While the company attempted to compensate for its poor treatment with perks like concert tickets, bonuses, and free lunches, these gestures felt superficial and failed to address the underlying issues within the work environment.

Overall, Priority Courier Experts had the potential to be a great workplace but fell short due to these serious issues. The perks, bonuses, and compensation offered were not enough to compensate for the pervasive negativity, lack of respect, and disconnection from leadership. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking a supportive and professional work environment.

It's definitely not a career, but it will give you some cash flow. Problem is that most of that cash goes right back into your operation. And if you get in far enough financially, it can be extremely difficult to get out.

You are responsible for EVERY cost. 1) car payment/lease (if applicable), 2) commerical insurance 3) daily fuel costs, 4) vehicle maintenance, 5) vehicle emergency repairs (car rental), 6) state and federal taxes, 7) holidays/vacation/PTO, 8) health insurance....and numerous other nickel and dime expenditures.

If you're not on the road driving, you're not only not making any money, but you're actually losing money. This goes for any sick days, vacations, and Federal Holidays. And even weekends for some.

If that isn't enough of an obstacle for success, Priority will constantly have their hands in your pockets. They charge you for having any type of relationship with them, which includes everything from buying their uniforms, to charging you for drafting their payroll.

You will constantly be budgeting and worrying about money, and trying to prepare for the many unknowns. You will never be guaranteed any consistent revenue, because it largely hinges on things you have no control over, like work flow, weather, and timing and geography on the courier map.

But you will have plenty of autonomy, and get to enjoy the days when the weather is nice. For some that's a fair trade off. Just not if you have a family, and/or are the main financial means of support of anyone aside from yourself.

I have been with this company for over 7 years now and I can't imagine ever working for anyone else I only wish I had discovered this company earlier in my career.  For the first time in my life I want to get up and come to work every day and the staff here is great!  In the past I've always come to work and go through the motions and can't wait for the day to end but here I enjoy coming to work, I enjoy the fast pace in which we work in because it makes the day goes by fast and by the time you go home you feel good about what you accomplished that day and I like the variety of things I do, I rarely do the exact same thing every single day.  The generosity of the owner is something that I've never seen anywhere else before, every Friday we have lunch brought in and paid for, throughout the year we have opportunities to see events that we might not get the chance to otherwise and puts on a first rate Christmas party for the whole fleet and staff and gives us all a chance to get together and have some fun at the end of the year and show his appreciation for all that everyone does all year long!

I have been a contractor here for several years. When I first started, I was happy to be working with priority. Over the years, new people have come, people have left. priority has turned from a placed I was happy to work for to a company that I do the bare minimum to get by. None of us contractors are appreciated, were just a number and someones paycheck. We are constantly hung up on, retaliated against, and left hanging.  Priority has hired dispatches that don't care about you as the contractor, they just want the work covered. Even if it costs the contractor to do. Your daily availability is constantly disregarded and if you don't do what the dispatcher wants they will retaliate against you. The owner takes and takes from the drivers to line his own pockets and buy real estate.  The owner is so blind to what's actually going on within the company that its actually funny. He sits in his office and has no idea how his staff treats the contractors. Priority isn't the place I signed up to work for many years ago. Its not a hostile, stressful, and negative workplace. I do not recommend. You are called a contractor but treated and threatened like an employee. 

The company provides competitive pay along with attractive bonuses and perks, but it has significant drawbacks. The medical, dental, and vision benefits are comprehensive yet costly. There are serious issues with nepotism, favoritism, and employees are pressured to leave positive company reviews on job boards and urged to support specific political candidates, with threats of benefits being at risk if they do not. The sick policy is unfair, and HR fails to protect employee confidentiality. The managers micromanage, and lack empathy. The organizational structure is chaotic, there is constant changes in management, and other departments. Forced overtime is expected. Employees experience zero work-life balance. Communication is frustrating, as requests to leave when busy are often ignored, but you are expected to respond to all emails sent by managers and if you don’t you face intense follow-up. This is a call center, and you are expected to meet certain metrics. You will need to ask to use the restroom which is unethical. 

I used to work for Priority until they screwed me over. I was nearly done paying off my vehicle until they demanded it back. FML!!!! If you wanted to pay off the vehicle then you must give a 90-day notice on paper notice before hand. At least they made the change of not charging us to pay for new uniforms every 2 years, but if you need extra then ofc you have to spend your own $ for more. Beware of some dispatchers, its mostly favoritism, if they like you then you'll receive more good runs & if they don't like you then you'll get the scraps that no1 wants. All they really care about is them getting majority of their cut! They don't really care about us contractors when we're out on the road risking our life sometimes on certain duties. Every courier business has their ups and downs, but I'd say Priority doesn't make it in the top 5 Couriers nowadays. 

Horrible company to work for.  As a driver you are essentially self employed.  Priority courier puts every single expense and every single liability into you and than takes the majority of the money you make.  If it isn’t in their unfairly high “cut” of the profits,  they nickel and dime you to death in every way possible.  You pay for vehicle insurance,  cargo insurance,  a cell phone,  insurance on the cell phone, vehicle lease payment,  all fuel expensed, apparel, etc...the list goes on and on.  After working there a few years I have bags and bags of the apparel they MAKE you buy every season every year!  Most of them are still in the wrapper.  They cost between $25 and $30 each usually.  They make money off of you like a cost center!  It should be illegal for couriers to run like this,  but it’s not.  Just beware.  They will take advantage of you in every way possible.  Don’t even start the never ending money pit of priority courier.  How do you think they pay for all of their fancy radio ads and marketing?  It’s from you the drivers!!!

When I started with the company i thought it would be just a job until i found another job, but after ten years i'm still here and its become a career. From day one I had medical & dental insurance and 401k benefits.  I'm up to four weeks vacation plus paid major holidays. each year on my anniversary date I get a check for $500 and a custom made cake for the office to share from Keys cafe, in fact, every co-worker gets the same as I do and my lady friends get nine weeks of paid maternity leave after they have their baby, and i'm counting about 20 since I've been here. I'm not an IT person but they make all our jobs better because everything we do it on the phone or the computer. It can be hard at times because we're so busy all the time but my co-workers make it fun. lot's of company spiffs like concerts, dinners, movies and a catered lunch for the whole office of 85 people every Friday. lucky to be here, lucky to have a job i like.

This review is for office staff, not a driver: Great place in terms of pay. Very nice building, well maintained and very clean. VERY busy most of the time, you don't get bored here. If you like being busy, this is a good place for you. Generous owner, Does giveaways for tickets and gift cards from time to time and usually does a top notch Christmas party.

Bad part is that beyond the generosity of the owner, the rest of the management staff lacks the ability to manage people fairly and evenly & staff and schedule consistently. There are a lot of people that work there that are related to the owner and it is obvious within the first few days they are treated MUCH differently that the rest of the employees. Constant job/responsibilities/desk/hours changes with little or no notice.

Stressful, fast paced & well paid work, you will never be bored!

Working here there is never a dull moment. its very fast paced and need to catch on pretty quickly to be able to stick around. Like any job it has its good days and bad, but I can honestly say that I love my job. The owner is very generous. On our work anniversaries he has a dessert delivered to the office for everyone to share and has soup available in the lunchroom through the winters. He also does some concert ticket giveaways every once in a while. I do whish that employee's were better managed. I feel like certain staff members are not trained well enough to manage or just talk down and belittle employees. my coworkers are great and I really enjoy working with them everyday but management, not so much.
