When I interviewed with the owner and the DOO of this company I was told they had a new approach to pt care.  It was ALL about the pt and providing them with dignity and peace at the end of their life.  In actuality pts were neglected, switched from nurse to nurse and a different CNA every time they turned around. Pts were admitted to Hospice care when they were not appropriate because we were threatened if we did not admit them.  Pts were denied needed care to make them purposely decline in order to keep them in the program and to get more money from Medicare.  During team meetings we were badgered if our pts were not declining and our jobs threatened with remarks such as.."well you will be sorry that you can't chart any decline when I cut your hours or lay you off."  We were told that "I don't care what your pt wants, we are changing the nurse or CNA to save money"  Then a new high priced manager was hired that started replacing employee's with her friends.  When I first went to work there I was so happy and thought I had found a home and I loved my pts and their families.  Our Medical Director complimented us on the care we gave our pts and what a wonderful job we were doing caring for them.  I NEVER had any write ups or complaints from any of my pts. but I was "laid off" for voicing my concerns to my DOO and the new manager did not like it.  I was not the first employee this happened to and I'm sure I won't be the last.  I have since found out that Providence Care is known for replacing employee's on a whim.  If they decide they want someone different they will have them hired and waiting to start your job before you are even let go....I was soooo disappointed and saddened by the treatment I received at this company.  My pts were all upset and lied to about my leaving and have voiced the fact and were basically told if they didn't like it they could go elsewhere.  There was NOT one nurse or manager that was trustworthy or professional in that office.  I believe they would throw their own mother under the bus if it served themselves in some way.  So if you ever decide to go to work for this company BEWARE because one day you may have a job and the next you won't.  Trust NO ONE there.

Kind people work here in and out of the office.  The field staff are eager learners and care for their patients, their patient's families and each other.   Management/leaders do not manage or lead.  Everyone is nice but no one says what needs to be said to run a company. This is because the majority of mgmt/leaders are more concerned with not hurting the feelings of others.  This is the hardest part of the job due to the Law of The Lid as this is a company and not a social experiment. This culture, although friendly at face value, makes it difficult to move projects along and to change the dynamics when necessary.  There seems to be mismanagement of finances/billing/authorization as this seems to have lacked oversight for a long time, or the finance leader did not know the details of this type of billing/authorizations/contracts and should not have been in the role to begin with.  Many issues were raised without intervention for > 1 year.  The best part of the job is working with the field staff daily by helping answer their questions and learning about higher level company processes and procedures.

There is an astronomical amount of turnover here. In the less than 7 months there have been 7 people that have been fired or quit on the sales staff. There are only 8-10 sales staff from top to bottom in the company. In the past 2 years there has been at least 17. During the interview process they tell you about this amazing culture where they help you grow and overcome obstacles. Nothing can be further from the truth. They have this false sense of great company culture with nothing backing it up. When COVID-19 restricted how I was able to do my job they offered some help but when it became really dire I was met with try this and try that. There was never really in depth coaching to help out. Do not accept a job here. You will have no job security and will always be stressed if you’re needy on the chopping block. Senior leadership does not know how to effectively lead a business development team.

These last few years at Providence Care have been some of the best years of my career! I am excited and privileged to work for a company that promotes the growth of its own. We have an amazing workplace culture. Everyone is a delight to work with/for. We have an incredible all-inclusive one-stop shop model, where patients are able to receive the highest quality of care, through all stages of their disease progression. We have a House Calls/Palliative Care team, a Home Health team, and a Hospice team. All divisions work harmoniously together to provide an easy continuum of care for our patients/families. We have multiple locations throughout South Carolina, and are an ever-growing company. I could not recommend a company more than Providence Care! We are always looking to hire qualified professionals, so that we can continue to offer the excellent service and quality we promote here to our families and patients. Come join our team!

Last Wednesday 5/17/23 marked my one year anniversary with Providence Care! I would like to take a moment to express how happy and blessed I am to have worked with such an amazing group of individuals for the last year. It has been one of the most fulfilling in my career thus far. I have enjoyed learning all things new about palliative care and more about the geriatric population than I knew before. I am thankful to have the privilege to work alongside an amazing nurse practitioner who goes above and beyond and sees the “whole picture”. 

The company has gone through many changes recently but one thing has never changed, their passion for their patients and their employees.  They've updated their benefits this year and lowered costs which has been a life saver to my family.  They've recently increased their 401k match as well.  

Corporate and management do not care about their employees, they have fired and lost so many individuals within the past year(s) due to company structure and business ethics. Their policy’s and procedures are like what you would see at a start up company. You’re just a number to this company. Please look elsewhere because there is no respect or job security with this company. When you have to worry about their procedures regarding patient care you know it’s time to go elsewhere.

I would not recommend working for this company. I was encouraged to leave my previous job for this position, only to be given a separation notice shortly after starting. Communication was extremely poor, and I was left with little to no information regarding my employment status. The lack of professionalism and consideration for employees was very disappointing. Unfortunately, my experience created unnecessary financial hardship for me and my family. If your looking for a full time job keep looking

Everyday we have the unique opportunity to literally change the trajectory of another person's life. Through our Continuum of Care we are able to  meet people where they are and provide real help and much needed hope. I also love the fact that our CEO, CMO and COO sit at the same table with the rest of us and are only a phone call away.  

CEO was self appointed and is not trust worthy.  Many lay-offs have occurred over the past 3 months and the company is very unstable.  Bad reputation in the communities that they serve.  Bringing in talent that is not healthcare focused and terrible transparency within the company.  They try and increase star ratings by making leaders write positive reviews to help with recruiting.
