Qcells is known for overworking any employee until they burn out. If you don't put in extra hours, you'll be considered lazy and management will chew you out.

Pay & benefits
Pay was not great at Qcells. Especially when you consider the extra hours you're working for no extra pay on salary. Hourly workers at least got OT pay

Job security and advancement
Since everyone who is your senior will get burned out and leave, the job growth is technically endless if you can stomach the work. But they also promise title changes and advancement opportunities like Lead/Senior engineer and often don't follow through (or take their time). However,  I've seen technicians become engineers, so definitely growth opportunities are available.

Management
I have no idea what management did. This is my honest review. I honestly have no clue what management did to help the engineers of any group.

Culture
Some people definitely made the job worth it. However, the overall tone set by management was not friendly. Work is fast paced and you better not fail.

Overall
Qcells has no sense of management. 
Engineers are asked to be technician managers, work beyond their job description in too many ways, and paid nothing for the hours worked.
If you leave your job at 5:30 pm, you're considered lazy. Too much work is given to any single engineer. You're asked to do the impossible and when you fail, management will grill you. 
There is no mentorship or education involved. 
Life is so stressful working here since it's a 24/7 plant. You must know everything going on about the plant that may have any impact on your projects otherwise you're a failure. 
However, management doesn't aide enough for clear communication. The Korean only meetings are ridiculous as so much important information is not passed on. Either you're Korean and you're in, or you're an America and you're out of the communication chain. 
You better have a niche job skill set that they can't easily replace because they will just move on finding some whatever new candidates instead of selecting and nurturing the best. Everyone my senior has left the department. If not a single person is willing to stay there longer than a year, this should be enough proof that this isn't a long term stable work place for anyone.

I had the unfortunate experience of working at this company, and I can't stress enough how utterly dreadful it was. From the top down, this place was micromanaged to an absurd degree. Every task was scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb, leaving little room for any sense of autonomy or creativity.

Despite the so-called "open door policy," it felt like opening that door just put a target on your back. Whenever you dared to voice your opinions or concerns, they were promptly dismissed, and you were left feeling like a nuisance rather than a valued team member. The management simply didn't listen to any suggestions or feedback.

What's worse, the managers provided no real guidance. Instead of offering support or direction, they would routinely tell you to "go search for an answer" on your own. This lack of leadership led to confusion and frustration among the employees.

The minimal training provided was a joke. You were expected to jump into tasks with little to no preparation, and this only contributed to the unnecessary steps that seemed to prolong every single process. It was like they wanted to make even the simplest tasks needlessly complicated.

Furthermore, the condescending tone from management was a constant presence. They seemed to relish in belittling employees, which created a toxic atmosphere that permeated the entire workplace. Communication was lacking on every level, and the employees bore the brunt of it.

One of the most disturbing aspects of my time at this company was catching my manager in multiple lies. Trust and integrity were clearly not part of the company's values, and it left a sour taste in my mouth.

In summary, this workplace is a prime example of everything that can go wrong in an organization. Micromanagement, a complete disregard for employee input, minimal training, unnecessary processes, condescension, and a toxic atmosphere – it's all here. My advice? Run in the opposite direction and spare yourself the misery.

The corporate culture could be perceived as strongly capitalistic. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Poor leadership and a toxic work environment make it nearly impossible to be successful and satisfied here in the long term.

The company undergoes constant and chaotic reorganizations at very regular intervals (sometimes every month), leading to significant unrest and an atmosphere of insecurity and instability. The work atmosphere is heavily burdened by toxic management. Decisions are often made without regard for the employees.

The behavior of the supervisors is unprofessional and disrespectful. Critical feedback is ignored or even sanctioned. There is no clear communication, and often attempts are made to pit employees against each other. The management behavior is often not transparent and can be described as reactive. Decisions are frequently made and changed on short notice, significantly affecting planning reliability.

The corporate culture is strongly characterized by a conflict between different cultural approaches, leading to friction almost every day. The communication within the company is incredibly poor. Information is often not transparently shared, and there is a culture of silence. Important decisions are made without involving the affected employees.

At this company, more responsibility often means more risk of being blamed, while those who do less remain safe. Employees are often viewed merely as numbers and suffer greatly from the short-term strategies of management.

Many people seem to talk down on qcells without even being people that have worked there. ive worked here for a year and had to leave to pursue my actual career but i’ve met amazing people here. everyone is sweet. Job is easy , there are days where it’s too much only because of how BORING it is. imagine complaining because your job is boring?? better than being too much. The worst things are probably just the 15 minute breaks but the pay is amazing. I had a great support group. my supervisor was awesome as well and understanding. the coworkers are cool both days and nights. Its just all people trying to keep themselves alive. I once had someone tell me qcells is a bad job because you get glass all over you? Seems like the person didn’t know how to do their own job. Qcells is stressful YES! but so is every job. It takes a certain person to be able to stay here long, you got to be strong mentally. I can say it is tough starting out because there isn’t any other job like this in dalton so you’re learning new stuff as well but its nothing impossible. People need to know that you WILL have good support around you. My favorite thing about qcells was the people, all hilarious.

Qcells is a quickly growing company that is helping the planet with its solar cells, which is a big pro. However, my experience working there was mixed, with some cons that need to be addressed.
One of the biggest issues was the cliquey atmosphere. If you didn’t fit in with the social group, it was difficult to connect with coworkers and feel like you belonged. It felt like there was a clear divide between the in-group and out-group which wasn’t best for morale.
Another problem was with the Human Resources department. They lacked skills and willingness to handle HR issues and often looked the other way when people in authority acted inappropriately. It didn’t feel like there was much support for employees when it came to HR concerns.
The biggest issue was the safety of the work environment. It was not safe, especially when it came to working with solar cells. There were no safe lockout procedures for the machines, which could start up or move unexpectedly. This was a serious issue. As a result, many people have gotten injured or lost digits. This issue needs to be addressed immediately.

My time with the company was terrible I was indirectly called a theif by leadership and Human Resources with our research. Instead of researching that a fuel charge was an authorization, at a truck stop they asked why I hade a 350 fuel charge plus a diesel charge of 93 dollars. Between management and human resource, no one knows what really needs to happen, resources are bottle neck upon project management which makes everything that needs to be done on site limited until  upper
Management is satisfied of the projects requests for payment on what the project needs. Rotations and PTO can be denied if management wants to, they don’t respect contracts between employees or 3rd contractors. Nepotism, favoritism, no trust amongst the field team,  no true quality, it’s a past the buck situation company, no accountability!

Work life balance is absent. You will literally eat take out dinner with your team multiple times a month. Some of my coworkers would work well into the next morning. If you have anything at home that needs attending to during the workday, it's going to have to wait until the weekend.

Speaking Korean is a must as the majority of management has rudimentary English skills. Complex ideas will be difficult to pass down unless someone can translate for you. 

I have been asked to work weekends and during my vacation, and with mediocre pay and long hours, I calculated that I was making less per hour than a recent high school grad working on the floor. Ultimately, the only benefit to be had is if you are a Korean expat needing a green card; otherwise, skip this place.

Times are changing in the energy field. Somehow I was lucky enough to be at the right time and place to get on with an industry leader in solar technology.
I’ve been treated as an asset and they spent a great deal of time and expense training our core team. 
The Korean people are the most courteous people in the world I know of or that I’ve met.
The site came to my town and offers hundreds of jobs and opportunities to grow. We needed a different product too. The flooring industry has served us well but this opens the door to many other options for our community.

Management is clueless. All decisions are made by Korean management. No raises since they have opened 2.5 years. Very difficult to get vacation approved in certain departments. You must work all holidays if your shift is scheduled to work. Training here is nonexistent. You are on your own to learn. No clear directions about company goals. Main priority is production. Safety is nonexistent here. Quality is not of importance the goal is to produce as many panels as possible within a shift. No matter the quality of the product. Certain managers do not speak to employees. Koreans are disrespectful to American employees. I do not recommend working here. 

As a supervisor you get Great pay and benefits, but the expectations for reporting, quota, and quality are horribly unbalanced.
You are expected to keep the line running at all cost regardless of quality and personnel and then constantly update reports via text and Excell spread sheet while your modules are coming out like garbage. Then because you have so much rework and repairs you are expected to push a already short crew to impossible goals because management refuses to stop and address issue properly 
Saftey is only important on paper, they would rather damage you before the equipment or production numbers
