After clocking in count the consumers personal money accounts to verify amount. According to the schedule one staff employee would go pick up a consumer from her work location and the other would stay back at the residence and supervise the consumer coming home from their day supports. this staff member would also prepare dinner at this time on the 2p -10 shift when all the consumers are home staff makes sure their individual goals are met for the day by supervising, monitoring,or shadowing the consumer. Also, staff would give medication as assigned for the evening, document all medications given. Staff also had daily reports to complete before the shift ended. Staff would encourage the consumers to take part in preparing dinner and clean up . Staff also encourages and helped the consumers prepare for the next day and evening activities were often played, or shopping  before the consumers took their baths and retired for the evening. At the end of shift the staff would complete the assigned consumers Therup. All documents required for that day and shift, count the consumers personal money and document. Inform staff arriving of the day and any issues.
The hardest part of the day was behavioral management of the consumers. But, also the rewarding part of the day because this is where training was experienced and learned on a first hand basis.
My co - workers were team players at times and back stabbers other times. Every one had their own agenda which made it a difficult work environment during these times. I learned a lot from this job dealing with behaviors from the consumers, coworkers, and my own. It was a challenging but rewarding experience.

No food for residents dirty homes. Had to bring my own cleaning products. Schedule was crazy. 35 hours and to get to 40 you have to do a 10 shift.  There was often inadequate staffing, which led to increased workloads and a higher risk of errors. Proper training and ongoing supervision were minimal, leaving many staff members feeling unprepared and unsupported. Communication between management and staff was inconsistent, and concerns raised by employees were frequently overlooked or not addressed in a timely manner.

Additionally, expectations were not always clearly defined, and policies seemed to be enforced inconsistently. This created confusion and, at times, an unfair work environment. Morale among staff was generally low, and there was a noticeable lack of recognition for the hard work and dedication required in this role.

Overall, while being a QMA can be a rewarding position in the right setting, my experience was negatively impacted by poor management practices and insufficient workplace structure. Improvements in staffing, communication, training, and leadership would be necessary to create a more supportive and effective work environment.

Residents are picked up from work by staff and brought home. Medication is distributed to the residents and filing out of medical records are completed. Staff take residents on outings such as a visit to a museum, or dinner at a restaurant. Staff maintains management of residents personal funds. Staff assists residents with up-keep of personal hygiene. Staff prepares meals for the residents.

I have learned many interesting things at QMA, but the most important lesson I have learned is to never take life for granted. Live everyday with purpose and a restlessness of never giving up.

Management at QMA is great, with good communication and the collaboration of management and staff makes QMA a great place to work.

Workplace culture is at a all time high at QMA because it's tone is set by the Residents. Who are wonderful and amazing people that refuse to allow their disabilities to determine their quality of life.

The hardest part of the job is having little control over behavior issues with Residents.

The most enjoyable part of my job is going to work everyday and seeing the smiles on my residents faces when I walk through the door.

A Good place to work, some of the staff members are good to work with, others Not! The owners were pretty Good to us, But everyone Not everyone was Treated Fair! There were Different Rules Applied to their Favorite Employees, Also I had different Supervisor directing me to perform different assignments, without communication with each others, leading to Lack of Communication. Also the Lack of the Administrators Procrastinating on some Job task which needed to be completed at a Deadline, and Waiting for the Last Minute to Complete and Causing Pressure on employees at the last minutes.  I did learn a lot from one of my Supervisors, and they treated everyone Very Well on the Holidays. 

The leaders have a tendency to contradict each others, such as one tells you to perform a job assignment, a certain way, and the other wants it done there way, lacking communication from each other and myself. Also the lack of help , your expected to lift hospital beds heavy yard bulk items by yourself causing danger to you back and health. Also they have different rules for certain employees apply. And for some reason they always wait to the last minute to react to a certain maintenance issue, then when it backfires, its a rush to complete the issue..Over all they do take care of their favorite employees and the CEO and owners, are such wonderful kind and caring individuals.

Upper management does not talk to the supervisors to see how they can improve as a whole.  Supervisors are on call 24/7 and work all shifts, even if they are able to staff the openings. The pay was only raised because of the number of people who quit within months. DSP workers do not receive raises. They blame staff and supervisors for everything that doesn't work out. even when they don't train you. The only time upper management is nice to you is if they want to add more to our work load. I quit within months.

The job wouldn’t be so bad except for the turnover rate. This alone makes a program manager job very difficult. I started with 8 staff in my house and within 3 months I was down to 3 staff, and if you don’t have coverage, guess who is on the hook to cover those shifts? And you don’t have the cushion of 8 hours mandatory between 16 hour shifts, and you will do 16 hour shifts. The residential supers will micromanage you to oblivion and the problems that exist will become your responsibility and your nightmare. Good luck. 

My typical day would consists of arriving ontime and waiting for clients to arrive to  the Day Program. Upon arrival some clients drink coffe or tea to start the day. Next there would be an activity such as coloring or playing a game where clients can interact with peers and staff. next would be lunch time and some clients need assistance with eating and drinking. Depending on the client but most get "thicket" in their beverages. This is when our daily notes are starting to be recorded and put into the data base. The end of the day consists of doing runs. taking clients home.

I worked here as a DSP and immediately after training, I received very little guidance from the house manager and other workers; they expected me to know what I was doing right on my first day and they treated me like I was an idiot.  They also judged my performance based on the color of my skin rather than the quality work I was doing; the manager was also good friends with everyone so when someone who wasn't her friend made a mistake they were fired and her friends got to the keep the job even if they were doing to the same action.  Very bias and racist.

My day starts with completing daily documentation, if there's no doctor appointments for my guys. I administer  afternoon medications, I offer a snack than start dinner. While dinner is being completed socialize with my guys asking them about their day. And assisting them with any dtr goals. We eat dinner together. My guys assist with cleaning up their mess and washing dishes. Majority of the time they start their showers and daily hygiene.Evening medications are administered. The guys retire than I completed all other paperwork.
