The best part of working at the company was the opportunity to step into a high-impact role where I could take ownership across multiple operational areas, including production, logistics, and inventory. It allowed me to strengthen my leadership skills, improve processes, and bring structure to a fast-paced environment while supporting team performance and operational continuity

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involved managing multiple operational areas, including overseeing production flow, coordinating logistics and inventory, and supporting staffing needs. This included addressing real-time issues on the floor, ensuring processes were followed, communicating across departments, and continuously prioritizing tasks to keep operations running efficiently.

A typical day at work would be to go on a line and get product pushed towards you by forklifts. You and a few others pick up a pallet, stick it on the line, and stack the product a certain way, all day. No production work involved, this is more of a picker/stacker position. This company will literally work you like a dog. You're constantly moving for the entirety of you shift, the work is easy but it's extremely repetitive and hard on your body. The work is mindless, there's no challenge no thinking involved, it's one of those jobs you have to basically shut your mind down for the work day until you leave. Favoritism is extremely huge here and they only promote you if they like you. Even if you do get promoted to another position, the small pay raise is not worth the stress you have to deal with. The company has unrealistic goals and quotas set, that literally only robots could do. In the summer it is extremely hot, I'm talking close to 100 degrees or more, and in the winter extremely frigid. The work is somewhat unreliable, sometimes you'd have to come in for overtime, sometimes they'd call you off or make you leave early due to no work. The only good thing about this job is the schedule, usually mon-fri unless there's mandatory overtime.

What you do is extremely repetitive from day to day and the tasks are mind numbing and very boring. They expect you to work like a machine at the rate that a machine would work at. They say occasional weekends but there is mandatory overtime every weekend and if you do not show up they will give you a point. If it is a week before a holiday or a 3 day weekend they have mandatory 10 hour days and mandatory weekends even though the weekends are 8 hour days they work you like a dog and wonder why everybody  dislikes them. The temperature is constantly around 90 - 100 degrees in the summer time. They show favoritism and usually the lower workers are never listened to. Some of the line leaders are very rude and yell at you if you are not going as fast as a machine or even if you ask to be rotated. I liked alot of the people I worked that were also line staff they were very friendly and willing to help when they could. Most of the time the lines are understaffed and you are requested to do the job of 2 people at the rate of 2 people.

I have worked for QPI for many years. It is reassuring to go into work everyday and know working for QPI that Family comes first. The management team is friendly and truly cares about you as a person. I enjoy a fast paced work environment, it makes the days go by quickly. The work is NOT hard manual labor as the production equipment is built with ergonomics in mind. I hear appreciation for working overtime. They provide adequate breaks and a very nice smoking area. It is easy to make friends at QPI because we are all here for 1 reason, to work and make money to support our families. I will work at QPI until I retire. I can not imagine working anywhere else. Here at QPI the management knows my name and that might not seem like much but it means the world to me!

When hired in they tell you about all the great benefits and that you'll be 40hrs, M-F. Once you actually start you find out that they will text you at the end of your shift to not come in the next day. Several days a week, every week. Unless you're privileged enough to be part of the in crowd or you're related to someone in a higher position. Those are the only people who are guaranteed full time. The work is easy and hours are great, that's it. They don't have formal training so everyone just has to watch others and jump into a project and hope you're doing it right. They're only quick to tell you when you do something wrong, not actually show you how to do something before doing it. If you're ok working maybe 16-24hrs/week most of the time then it's a great job.

Quality Packaging Industries is a very past paced environment. If you're not physically fit, don't even apply for this job. I've seen so many people suffer bad health issues as a result of this job. It can get very dramatic, you're working on a production line for 8 hours so people talk to entertain themselves. Management is hit or miss. They're not there to be your friend, but they're also not very considerate either. Don't expect them to be sympathetic. Personally, the most enjoyable part of the job was the work itself. The job helps you lose a lot of weight and if you have a strong work ethic and massive determination, this job is perfect for you. Just don't let the drama get to your head and plan to have a better job to get out of there ASAP.

Typically places hire maintenance because they know what there doing I worked there back in 2020 coming into there previous technician leaving month or so in advance regardless the matter yes I had to jump in and just go but that’s the joy of being in a maintenance position fixing things that are broke and being the first line in defense of broken machinery the management was awesome and worked with employees to make sure they were happy and had the tools they needed to succeed and as I started so did a lot of other people in management one of the best jobs I had 

Terrible management. No accountability for employees actions. If you are lazy and like to gossip or are complete screw up you will go far in this company.  If you like to work hard and have a good head on your shoulders don't expect to get the credit you deserve.  If your not a favorite of the site supervisor you won't get anywhere. Hours are good for family and the pay isn't bad. Just do your best to stay out of the group's that don't care about anything but what everyone else is doing and do your job. I don't see this company keeping there contract long term if they don't get control of their employees.

Overall QPI Albany is a great place to work when the hours are steady, with 40+ a week. Hours can become VERY low only averaging -20hours a week. The Management there is very arrogant and self centered. There is a lot of favortism shown. They extended our breaks making us go to break later than normal. The floor lead has an really bad attitude. This company is more so of family and friend oriented. The training system is a bunch of bs. Poor training! No advancements. Temp workers that does not care about the job.

Absolutely horrible, they favorite certain people, they absolutely suck at calling back, they talk about you and downgrade you if your not fast enough or if you ask a question. Some nice line workers but that's cause they are also worked like slaves trying to aim for unrealistic quotas the company has. Oh, don't try going back cause the  favorite others. Pay wasnt too bad still not enough if your a single parent providing. Line leaders are unbelievably rude to their line workers. McDonalds would probably treat you and pay you better than this place.
