There are a bunch of call centers to work at this one is not any different. You are just another number at a desk to clock in and are expected to do better then the last day. Throughout the time of me working there which was around almost 1year there were several extreme company policy changes that disregarded almost everything that was tought during training. Managment played favorites in which if u did not accept overtime, when you needed help certain supervisors would disregard you and rather look for others to ask for overtime then help you with an actual issue. Fellow co workers were fired left and right due to what they called ( FOR THE BETTER OF THE COMPANY) we have to let you go. And boy what they would fore you for. Well to name a few for not making enough payments per hr ,for your tone of voice even with irate customers(even if they review call all customer has to do is call corporate ) you will be promptly let go after. There no raises at all throughout the time of me working there, no sign of improvement or movement in company the best thing I could look forward to was a wheel spin where the best thing you could achieve on this wheel was $100 which was taxed and was applied to your bi weekly pay check. which in itself was a joke because you can only spin the wheel if you achieve a certain amount of payments secured in one day. An idea of what is expected of you from this company is you are a payment rep for comcast expected to call customers who did not pay their bill as well as customers who no longer have the services to pay a bill, as well as customers who have already paid their bill to annoy them and tell them thank you for paying your bill after they just paid but your sole job is to get payments so I always wondered why waste a payment reps time by calling calling customers who do not need the companies service. For lack of a better word this company is trash. Its only beneficial to the owner and everyone who is not a CSR because their jobs are secure. And yes that means even the receptionist. Dont work here if u do still want to be apart of this team and actually stay past their training process just pay attention to how big your class is and see how many people are left within the first month. Its laughable to see a class of 16 new individuals drop to just 3 before 1 month and already have another class of 12 or 9 already be in the process of training if you catch my drift. Bottom line is I left because I believe if your excellent at your job and you do everything above average but you are offered no recognition nor real incentives or opportunity to move up in the company amd at the first sign of anything they are looking to replace you doesnt seem to me like  a place I would want to work at.

RUI is a great place to start off if you're trying to get into an industry that consists on ongoing calls, fast pace. As stated though, it's great place to start off, but that not how it ends. In other words, you want to have other options just in case. You start good pay-plus the incentives. The environment may seem ok, friendly co-workers, a Starbucks machine, awesome. However down the line you are going realize that you're going to take alot of nonsense that makes your want to rethink the position. From the calls, to the management, and the culture of the company. First, your job is competitive, they express that as they show your results of EVERY Q.A, how many calls you've made, whether or not you've hit your incentive, all on a sheet of paper as the rest of the other reps, on a sheet of paper that is passed around. It might even be flagged on the T.V screen that's on the floor area.So basically no privacy, everyone knows if you're good at your job or not. Its difficult for you to get help. The calls tend to get difficult sometimes.Customers can get real nasty just over some cable and you have no choice but to take it. I have been challenged by my intelligence, racially discriminated, and cursed at. There's only three supervisors on the floor, and believe me, you may find some completely useless than others. The rate for assistance for the company is a all time low. One-on-one's are later than others. The managers have a tenancy to put some agents on the back burner. They play favorites. Where there's favoritism, that means lack of growth within the company for those that actually are do their job. At the same time they want over achievers, which is not bad, but the end there's no good result. You can do the most for the company and would be in the same position you've started when you first started, you can see that in your pay. This job is great if your trying to accomplish certain goals such as a new car, paying off some debt, moving into a new apartment. Things such as that, but not long-term.

This company is extremely micromanaged, and the management style often feels condescending and unprofessional. There is very little room for growth or improvement, and the information provided during training about compensation and commission was misleading.

Nesting is where things really break down. You are expected to perform like a fully trained employee from day one, with minimal support. Policies and “rules” are introduced during this stage, and employees are then penalized for not already knowing them. Instead of receiving guidance, you’re met with criticism and write-ups.

There also appears to be a culture where speaking up or raising concerns results in disciplinary action, including write-ups or termination, which creates a discouraging environment where employees feel they cannot advocate for themselves.

HR does not feel supportive or effective in advocating for employees. Write-ups and terminations often feel inconsistent and arbitrary. There is also a noticeable lack of professionalism from management, including speaking negatively about agents behind their backs.

My own termination experience was especially disappointing. I was removed from the meeting before I could ask questions, after already being threatened with termination the day before. The explanation given did not reflect the effort I made to resolve ongoing equipment issues, including following proper channels to request replacements.

Overall, this was a frustrating and disheartening experience. I would strongly recommend others consider different opportunities before working here.

Employees face a toxic work culture where managers routinely dismiss concerns with phrases like, "Clear your cache and cookies," or, "We had to do it, so you have to do it too." This condescending and dismissive attitude sets the tone for an environment that prioritizes fear and compliance over support and collaboration.

The workplace operates on a sink-or-swim mentality, with strict rules and little room for flexibility. Breaks are limited to 2 minutes, with any overage resulting in disciplinary action. Employees must remain on camera for their entire shift, while supervisors and leads consistently leave their cameras off, creating a glaring double standard. Placing customers on hold for over 1 minute or failing to respond to a manager's message within 2 minutes also results in write-ups, further fostering a fear-based environment designed to push sales at any cost.

Supervisors and leads frequently speak down to employees, using unprofessional tones and condescending language that erodes morale and respect. Many managers have only been with the company for 90 days and lack the experience to effectively guide the team. Meanwhile, employees are expected to navigate six different software systems with minimal support.

To make matters worse, promises made during interviews and training about the role and its opportunities were completely misrepresented, leaving employees feeling deceived and undervalued. The result is a workplace where employees are overworked, unsupported, and constantly under pressure to meet unreasonable demands.

So the stuff people complain about is blown out of proportion.
I have worked here for a while and I obey the rules and have no problems. I do hate you cant eat or drink at the desk but it does sound terrible to chew in someone ear and as far as eating I understand that too. This lady spilled soup all over the carpet and left a huge stain I'm sure it cost a lot to replace that carpet. No set breaks which I hate but if you need to go they don't bother you as long as your not on break every half hour. Like I said I still work there and these people are probably bitter they got fired for being immature and not acting like adults and following the rules. They tell you in training not to eat drink or use your cellphone on the floor so in my opinion that's your chance to walk out if you don't like it! Why would it be ok to use your cellphone dealing with people personal information? The management is tough but fair as long as you act like an adult and do your job you have nothing to worry about. You do have a goal but that's what life is about achieving your goals isn't it? Cry me a river and go flip a burger somewhere you people are pathetic and disgusting. No 401k which I hate but hey I make great money here and work is super easy. Unless you start your own business there will always be something you don't like about your job but that's life! Moral of the story, be on time don't eat or drink at your desk, don't use your phone on the floor and have a good attitude and BINGO you have a steady job!

I have worked at RUI for a couple of years now. This is a great place to work because the management team goes above and beyond for us. They work as a team and try to make sure you are helped immediately and constantly are retraining based on the policies. They will review calls, go over weekly scores and try to help you reach your individual and team goals. Like every job there are rules, there are goals you need to hit and I have been successful in reaching my goals. You are dealing with sensitive information so they lay out  the rules and expectations Day 1. No cafeteria in the building currently, but the boss brought in microwaves, refrigerators and vending machines. Contests are done often. Overtime offered every weekend. If you can show up on time, be professional on and off the phone and you can take re-education as exactly that, you can and will succeed here. I had no prior experience over the phone. I did customer service face to face. This company has changed a lot since I have worked here but always for the better. They now offer 401k, health, dental and vision insurance. From what I’ve seen in my time here is they promote within. They want knowledgeable people training us and try to pass along how to continue their success. People who are on here saying that this isn’t a good job, will more than likely say that about any job that doesn’t allow them to come and go as they please.

I worked as a Retention Specialist at RUI and it was honestly one of the worst work environments I’ve experienced. The trainers and nesting support were very unprofessional and often came across as rude instead of helpful. When you’re learning a new role, you expect support and guidance, but instead it felt like they were constantly criticizing without recognizing the good work you actually do.

Another issue is how strict and uncomfortable the work environment is. You are on camera 24/7, which already feels excessive for a remote job, but on top of that you have to ask permission just to use part of your 10-minute bathroom break. Breaks are also very rigid, with two 30-minute breaks at very specific times, which doesn’t leave much flexibility at all.

Overall, the environment felt very micromanaged and unsupportive. Instead of encouraging employees or helping them succeed, it felt like they focused more on watching and policing people. I would not recommend working here if you’re looking for a professional or supportive workplace.

Pays decent, but HORRIBLE management. No room for growth, 2-3 people are fired every week. They didn't have an attendance policy, so if you were late by even a minute twice: terminated. Women can wear extremely revealing clothing, but men can only wear collared shirts and dress pants. Management is all corrupt male figures that don't care to help the employee succeed. They tell you to go above and beyond, tell you to act like a leader, without explaining how to do so. I attempted supporting my coworkers with personally learned tricks for speed and accuracy, and the manager heard through the grapevine I was overstepping my boundries and gave me a final. For helping others. They don't want you to question the system, they don't want you to do anything in between calls, just sit there and take payments. Customer can't/won't pay? Transfer to Billing Department. Customer upset? Transfer to billing. Extreme favoritism in the office, if you get the job, becomes apparent within 3 weeks who is favored and who isn't. Not based off tenure, not even associate stats. Favoritism. I wouldn't work for this company again even if it paid double! Comcast or RUI should send representatives to this location to evaluate their management to see if this location should continue business.

From my experience working here for 9 months ,they will hire just about anyone but they most definitely will not KEEP everyone, they will hold you back in the 2 week training and even give you one on one help, but if you cant get it then you got to go! Its pretty much straight forward im giving you a "talk off" telling you exactly what to say and what not to say , either say it correctly or again you got to go. Basically they are contracted to say certain things and only those thing so dont say too much or too little or you have to go. They are pretty good with the pay and incentives work environment was nice they give free coffee and water - no creamer tho just coffee and sugar. Also no drinking that coffee at your desk - break room ONLY. also no microwave in either building so hope you didnt plan on bringing lunch to heat up. The people complaining in the reviews probably weren't saying the talk off or repeatedly coming in late, which i saw a lot of and i've  seen a lot of people go including myself for basically not following pretty basic office / job rules. Show up on time do exactly what we are contracted to do , if you sign up for overtime which is unlimited and optional then you better show up for that shift , dress appropriately and communicate with your hire ups and you will do just fine at RUI.

I was with RUI for about 2 years and decided to come back because I didn’t have good luck searching in the job pool and needed some cash (Job is ONLY good for pay). The metrics are based on luck, systems are slow(either hacked or needing maintenance but they’ll blame your ISP), no flexible schedules , management sucks, no matter your tenure or hard work you’ll get talked down to during huddles then they’ll tell you have a nice day and kill it! I don’t even know why I had high hopes that things changed when I came back…I knew the company was failing when I started seeing agents that literally got on the floor 3 weeks up to 2 months ago become managers as tenured agents bailed out by the day lol . They’ll advertise flyers for fiber 200- fiber 500 but want you to convince customers even the older ones to go with a higher plan, if they refuse (even if there’s good reason) that counts against your metrics . Customers will tell you everyday “ this job can’t be worth the troubles” it took me a while to see this job wasn’t worth it but the money is great enough to suck you in when in need. Management doesn’t even care about you .. I had lost my dad and asked to use my PTO, they said “ I’m sorry to hear that, your can use a extra lunch today because we could really use you today “ I never hung up so fast . I’m getting angry all over again just thinking about this job…. Just keep scrolling and don’t even apply
