RUSSELL INVESTMENTS

Executive support services – Outlook calendar management, meeting planning and support, complex travel arrangements, itineraries and expense reports, telephone screening and routing, conference calls, coordination with executives both internal and external, and relationship management at all levels, creation and preparation of presentations and documents.
	Meeting Planning – complex meeting coordination and agendas, minutes, catering, conference rooms, and locations both inside company and outside venues.
	Project Management – managed timelines, team management, cross collaboration and outreach, strategic planning and support services, minutes and agendas, exercising sound judgment, anticipation of needs, diplomacy, answer questions, route inquiries as appropriate, process improvements and solutions.
	Compliance, Procedures and Guidelines – document review, creation and retention in adherence to company guidelines.
	Project Leadership – implementation and communication of objectives and goals, define timelines and duties, contact with stakeholders and executives, monitor and report on project progress, high level reporting, finalize outcome.
	Liaison – professionally represent executives, team’s business communications, manage timelines and deadlines, create and present presentations, run meetings, confidential information and planning meetings, key stakeholders for projects, all levels of business, US and Non US departments.
	Confidentiality – interviewing of personnel, maintenance of confidential documents, correspondence, and information, employee concerns, business planning and strategies, financial information.
	Industry research, reporting, documentation, tracking and analysis, review of data for accuracy.
	Prepared high level presentations, exhibits and documents, Requests for Proposals (RFP’s).
	General office duties include – telephone and calendar management, office supply ordering, copying, faxing, and filing.

When you join the Russell Investments team - whether as an intern or associate - you are expected to perform at a very high level. Your fellow coworkers assume you will know how to do your day-to-day operations efficiently and accurately, however, they are all more than willing to help if you need assistance. Any time I run into an issue and have to ask for help, associates are happy to help and teach. Coworkers are very friendly and very intelligent people which make for a wonderful combination. Overall, Russell is a great place to learn and grow your expertise on investment management. I absolutely love this company.

The company has undergone numerous ownership, structure and managerial changes in the years I was employed by Russell.  Relocation created additional commute stress to the already present stress associated with large scale project work.  Overall, the company is competitive in salary and benefits; however, the work-life balance is somewhat strained due to the amount of work increasing, while the tenured workforce decreases.  Many associates site the best part of work in any of the groups is the camaraderie and general willingness of team members pitching in to accomplish goals without hesitation.

I have worked for Russell Investments for many years. It is a great place to work, but I have seen many changes over the years. Change is inevitable, and George Russell always said, "Embrace change!" Though one of our core values is that our associates are important, I have seen instances where that does not always hold true as evidenced by little or lack of HR support and support from leadership. Our associates are the greatest, but our culture is slowly changing along with the changing of the guard.

Although my time at Russell was not as long as I would have liked, I was on a two month contract assisting with the deployment of new machines to the users, I can honestly say that it is one of the best places I have ever worked at.  As a contractor it is all too common to be treated as a second class worker by many companies, not so at Russell.  During my time there I was welcomed by the rest of the team and treated with respect.  If given the chance I would most definitely work for Russell again.

Poor management, big turnover rate, a lot of smart/bright people already left the company. New management is constantly restructuring all teams and isn't willing to invest into new technology. The workplace culture used to be great, but not anymore. You have to have connections to get a promotion, so it doesn't matter what you know..what really matters is who you know. The company was acquired by a private equity firm, so they're only interested in cutting expenses. Make sure you do your research before you apply for a job.

Recent management changes (corresponding with TA Associates appointing their new President) have lead to self dealing, cost control beyond belief, and shedding of talent. No bid contracts to family member firms, former companies getting contracts they're not capable of handling, no strategy or change in funds, etc.

The culture has all but disappeared. People here continue to hate their jobs but feel stuck.

The only thing keeping the place alive is that the equity markets have had a crazy run. When that stops & AUM drops - it's game over. 

Avoid this place.

A typical day would be spent collaborating with other departments gathering requirements and meeting with developers for a software project I was managing. I learned a lot about project management, web development, marketing and legal contracts. I worked with a great team that was very supportive. I enjoyed working with vendors and other departments. The hardest part of my job was keeping all involved with the project to meet deadlines.

I've been working at Russell Investments for the past 7.5 years and have really enjoyed working at Russell Investments. It's really true that it is the people you work with each day that make it fun and enjoyable place to work at. I cannot say enough about the culture at Russell and have worked with some really smart people and I have learned so much over the years. I will miss it!

What is courage? What defines a courageous act? It is said that the brave and cowardly person are both fearful. However, it is the brave one who faces his fear and does what needs to be done. We will be faced with many things that scare us throughout our lives. How can we become the kind of people that face our fear and do it anyway? Human growth takes place when we take small steps. Each time we face our fears we become more of the courageous person that we would like to be.
