There was no pressure, no fear of losing my job—just pure understanding and compassion. That kind of support is rare in any workplace, let alone one as fast-paced as pharmacy.

The work environment here is beyond anything I could have hoped for. Unlike other pharmacies, where stress and burnout are common, Ready Meds prioritizes balance and fairness. We work reasonable hours, with no late nights or grueling weekends. Our days are structured to include two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, which might seem like a small thing, but in this industry, it’s practically unheard of.

And it’s not just about the work—it’s about the culture. We have so much fun together, from themed dress-up days and festive potlucks to our incredible company parties. These aren’t just obligatory gatherings—they’re celebrations, complete with amazing food, drinks, and genuine camaraderie. Whether it’s a Halloween costume contest or a holiday feast, these events remind us how much Ready Meds values building a sense of community.

The leadership team here sets the tone. Our managers aren’t just leaders—they’re mentors who care about each of us as individuals. They listen, they guide, and they advocate for us. Annual raises and performance reviews are a given, but it goes so much deeper than that. They look out for our career growth, offering opportunities to learn, advance, and feel truly valued.

I’ve worked in other pharmacies where breaks were nonexistent, stress was overwhelming, and toxic environments made every day a struggle. At Ready Meds, it’s the complete opposite. We don’t have angry customers yelling about copays or impossible expectations to meet. Instead, we work together as a team, supporting each other and making sure everyone succeeds.

If you’re considering joining Ready Meds Pharmacy, I can say without hesitation that this is a company that will not only value you but also lift you up. It’s a place where hard work is recognized, where your mental health matters, and where you can thrive both personally and professionally. I feel so grateful every day to be part of a company that truly feels like home.

Consider what you want in a job. 

Work life balance? Not here. They will expect you to do overtime every single day, not approve your PTO, and pretty much just work your life away for the company. 

Fair compensation? Not here. Some techs complain that new hires get paid more while they’ve been there for years. Rph salaries are trending down but they’re not afraid to low ball you. 

Competent management? Not here. This is the worst part. The people in charge have no idea how to solve problems. They don’t even know how hard you’re working on something. Also very unprofessional in how they treat their employees. No point in telling them any of your concerns cause they’ll just brush it off. 

Positive culture? Not here. If you know anyone who works here, they’re miserable. Either that or they’ve reached a point where they just tolerate their life and go to work like a zombie. There’s no appreciation of your work. You just get yelled at all the time by caregivers and management allows it to happen. 

Professional growth? Not here. They actually want you to stay where you are and do the same thing everyday and never learn cause if you do, they’re scared you’ll leave. 

If you’re the type to just want to work all the time, yes this could be a place for you. If you just want experience, yes you could use this as a stepping stone. But honestly there are way better companies out there. Find a place that will value you as an employee. That’s important in life. 

The staff are friendly and personable & there's a good variety of backgrounds/many spoken languages. Bonus is that there are a lot of pharmacists, so there's no need to worry about missing breaks/lunches due to lack of staffing. 

BUT poor benefits, with only 2 weeks of vacation (including sick days). However, unpaid time off is an option if needed. 

Management shows favoritism, and there’s pay differences among pharmacists with similar experiences and roles.  Employees are expected to do more than their job description without any increase in pay, and management often tries to downplay their contributions. There’s also a lack of communication between management staff, leading to unclear directions and mixed messages. Management sometimes oversteps boundaries and gets too personal. There has also been several incidences of staff being yelled at (and belittled) or let go immediately when putting in 2 week resignations. 



P.S. management has been known to ask employees to write favorable reviews for the job/pharmacy. 

They let you know right away that you will be working minimally 50 hours per week. This is great as you get 10+ hours a week in overtime.  However, the way they set your work shifts makes it very difficult to do anything other than work. Most employees work 6 days a week, 10 hours shifts (except Saturdays & Sundays which are 8 hours shifts). The shifts are usually from 10 or 11 am until 8 or 9 pm. With commute, you'll feel like you live there. 

The pay is decent especially with the overtime. Medical & dental shortly after starting there and it's Group Health. 

On the down side, there are too many "bosses", too many people trying to tell you how to do something.  Training isn't quite as streamlined as I would have liked.  I trained with at least 6 people, each with a different idea of how to do something, or what importance is on what they were showing me.

First off, overtime is basically MANDATORY at ready meds pharmacy. If you work 40 hrs a week, your considered part time. Most "normal" companies OT is optional but here, it is not. You will be forced to work 55+ hours a week. If you have a family, it is EXTREMELY hard to balance both family and work. Also, management is very unprofessional and they dont lead by example at all. Managers are leaders, right? At ready meds, they are one sided, they're close minded, and they are never open to new ideas or employee feedback. At ready meds, you will notice EXTREME favoritism and the males are highly taken care of over females, they are treated differently. Someone who does the bare minimum, will maybe get .25 to .50 cent raise a year and another could work 6 to 7 days week from open to close and they will be compensated the same, that is unless your a guy!

 Typical day was was what you expect from a position that has mandatory overtime.  Nice benefit, and being flexible, not bad if you have kids. Learned quite a lot working and originally liked my manager.

This is where it gets to have too many cons (in my opinion):
1) Favoritism is very much alive and well at company
2) Management does not care about the law or taking accountability if it concerns a favorite employee
3) Seniority/length of time working there doesn't matter
4) They would rather force you out or threaten your job instead of fire you

This job is hard enough, the above listed doesn't need to be added on. There were many more things, but I believe the above list is plenty.

Great place to work, people are all hard workers,  Management has just been reorganized and it is working well.   Long hours and Customer Service is top priority.  Long Term Care and Retail Pharmacy in same building but in different areas. They work hard to make it feel like a family while working there  ie: bowling night for employees, etc.   Your clientele is the Adult Family Home industry at this time and the caregivers can be difficult and demanding.  Many do not speak english well.

There was no best part, it was never a good experience 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working over 10 hours a day with terrible pay. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s stressful, the staff is so rude to new employees, and the management is no where to be found. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You have to stand for 10 hours. Also, You aren’t allowed to talk to other people. They have a paper printed near the time clock warning is to not have outside conversations while working.

If you are at any of the computer based positions they will expect you to also answer and triage all phone calls while getting your deadlines done. Upper management watches everyone on cameras to make sure your working at all points in time. All technicians must work five 10 hour shifts a week, you do get overtime pay and you can come in as often as you want on your days off for more overtime. Be prepared to stand all day with no accommodations if your not lucky enough to get a data entry or processor role.

Th work environment at Ready Meds Pharmacy is really great! I worked retail pharmacy for (too many!) years and I am so much happier working in long term care!  My work-life balance is so much better, and I feel like I am helping make a difference for our patients and caregivers.  The team of pharmacists, technicians and assistants works well together to create a fun and productive atmosphere.  Everyone really cares about each other, the company and our customers.
