ReconMR is for the right kind of person. It's a layover until you find your next job destination. It's a stepping stone to tide you over financially until you find something better. Unless you hustle and are in the top top performers, you won't get full time hours. When work slows they cut hours starting with lower performers, and then that extends to cutting positions. Job security and weekly income security are steady and awesome sometimes. And horrible and stressful at other times. 

A day may look like coming in and not having to speak to any management all day. You sit in a cubicle with a headset and either dial numbers or receive already connected out bound calls through a "dialer." The people you talk to will hate that you're calling on a dialer!--well, sometimes anyway. You are conducting surveys; maybe for Walmart, news stations, or about a state legislature item for North Dakota--basically anything. And that part is interesting and will spur good conversations on the smoke deck or in the break room. 

Here's the rub. You will get called some crude, horrible names by respondents, eventually. You will see the hateful side of humanity. For me it wasn't often because I used good tone, energy, and sincere care (even for the jerks) which tends to diffuse situations well. Here's some hard news: you will get this more often if you "sound" like a person of color, or even sound like a woman, or young, or whatever ticks that person off. Let. Those. Calls. Roll. Off. Your. Back. In the workplace, you will be expected to move fast (call to call), be on time from breaks, be on time to work, don't leave early, don't take 20 minute restroom breaks before your break and before work ends, and--perform. Get. Surveys. My advice: listen to the advice of management, especially the floor support, on how to improve. The advice sounds stupid a lot of the times, but it's a mind game with yourself. Constantly readjust your attitude about how you approach surveys and respondents, even if it's cheesy, believe it. Example: every person you get on the phone with *wants* to do your survey. Responding to them with authentic confusion when they say no throws them off balance. Then you can explain why you're confused aka why everyone else wants to take this survey. It's called a rebuttal, you'll get there, don't worry. Hardest of all is stay on script. There's *some* flub room on scripting, but don't play with it until you've been there a while and know where you can do it. Script. Apply your personality INTO the stupid wording on the screen. 

Hardest thing: the job is full of people screwing off. Taking the excessive breaks, never coming into work, jacking around in their cubicle--with friends nearby, on cell phones, or just doing nothing. Look, you may not see the heck they get from management, but they get it. You will too, even if they don't see you for a while. Play by the rules and you can be here, at $10/hr for as long as you want. You'll be valued by management for not being a screw off. 

PS. A specific manager can rub people the wrong way. Be patient with them and notice the circus they manage on a daily basis. Their evil looking glares are literally just how their face looks. They are *not* that upset. You will know when it's gone from small corrections to LOOK, we have a problem with you. 

Have fun. :) It is low stress. You dial and read from a screen. It can be boring as anything or engaging 'cause you wanna kick butt and get promoted (which is decently easy to do). Do it if it sounds like it'll work for you. And do it even if it sounds like you'll only be there a month, because it's still a month with a paycheck while you look for something else.

When working at this company you're basically doing surveys on phone in order to provide research for not only ReconMR but other companies too. It's gets boring and tiring just sitting on a chair calling all day and it doesn't challenge you and plus, management wants you to call every second and if you're not constantly dialing they will get upset. They want you to be engaged to the person on the phone to stay as long as they can in order to finish the survey, but at the same time don't want you to laugh at their jokes or even make small talk with them, management just wants you to talk like a robot and not to put your personality when engaging to make sure those people finish the survey. Workload is pretty unrealistic because they require you to do at least one survey every two hours, even though 95% of the time you'll get no answers and voicemails when dialing; there is no free bathroom breaks, if you need to use the bathroom you have to use your only break (which is like 15 minutes) and that's it. Not only that, the training is pretty ridiculous because every time you have to do a new survey, the training is usually 5 hours and then it leaves you more questions than answers and you're on your own so management really needs to focus more on training when it comes to new hires and newer surveys. I personally don't want to ask personal questions when it comes to surveys but I do understand why they need it for research purposes. Communication towards management is nonexistent, I mean there is a few supervisors that do manage to communicate with you, but for the rest, mangement doesn't answer you as often when you need it. They REALLY push you to do rebuttals and reading EXACTLY,(word for word), the survey says both questions and answers when you're working and they really push you tto the point of them calling you in the middle of you working or messaging you 2 or 3 times a day for "feeback" and it gets annoying. Not only that, you aren't guaranteed to work a full shift and just end up losing hours or they really push you to put in more hours to the point of where I just felt like not wanting to work anymore and just so many technical difficulties on their part. Overall I just don't recommend working for this company unless you're really desperate for a job or you really need a part time job to make extra income.


Typical day at Recon Mr is different every day. Each day your supervisor messages you what your "project" will be for the day. Recon Mr is a market research company based in Texas. Making myself a market research agent. What that intels on a daily basis is dialing/calling several hundred numbers per shift in 1 of  U.S. states & having the respondent take a survey. Survey could be political,medical, educational whatever the project you have been selected for the day may be. Sounds easy rt? Nope! You have to have great communication skills as well as be able to think on your feet so to speak,(quick thinker). Their are guidleines you are given for each project & you have to be able to use those techniques & guidelines given to get respondent to participate in the survey. If they refuse that falls back on you as far as what they call your "production" YOU have to have good production or you will be asked to clock out before your shift is scheduled to end. So that is the challenge! It is beyond difficult to convince another human being to take a survey if they don't want to. But somehow with the training giving to you by them & skills you yourself possess, you get this done. I enjoy the job extremely, I just don't like that I cannot better myself in skills. Because it's not up to me if I have a completed survey or not it's up to the respondent that you happen to reach. And unfortunately, you do reach some not so nice respondents ,putting it lightly. So, that as well makes it challenging receiving bad treatment on a daily from respondents. You get some bad apples but the good make up for it. But you move on to the next call & hope that is the one that will complete a survey for you. It is not impossible, but extremely difficult to do. Management is always there to help you or provide you with advice on how to navigate your calls if you need it. I cannot not brag enough about their management they are amazing. They are always there to provide help or provide your with further training if you feel you need it. Overall a great place to work,especially from home. You can't beat an income from home it's the best hands down!

I would like to clear up a few things that have been said here. First I would like to say that I am sorry your experience here at ReconMR was not a pleasant one. Lunch breaks can be taken by the employee when the shift is 8 hours or longer and the employee simply has to alert a support staff member as long as it isn't in the last hour of the shift. Additionally, paid breaks are issued to the employee during their shift if it is shorter than 8 hours as you have mentioned. As far as the schedule is concerned, you commit to a set schedule and are only obligated to those hours you have chosen for your schedule. Recently we have been going through many changes in the company as we are expanding and taking on more work which has translated to some confusion on new policies and procedures which is temporary as we transition. For the monitoring performed by the support staff, it is their job to alert you to the steps needed to be taken to maintain quality standards. This is done by providing constructive criticism which should then be implemented by the interviewer on subsequent interviews. Once again I am sorry that your experience here at ReconMR was unpleasant as the work is very rewarding; we provide incentives and bonuses to top producers who display a strong work ethic and provide the company with quality data. If what is being said here is the truth then there is some serious issues in Bryan. We are made to clock out for a break (7 hr. shift). There is no training, I have worked in call centers for over 9 years doing various jobs (cust. service, billing, tech support, quality, S.M.E., H.R. and as a supervisor, in all this time I have never seen anything like what i see and hear at this call center. There is no help and trying to get a question answered so you can do a good job is way under par. There is more I could comment on but it would take a while to write this. Management is under par. I do not see any advancement here and maybe I am over qualified.

I worked for ReconMR twice, for a total of roughly a year. The first time I worked there for about 4 months before having to resign due to moving across the United States due to circumstances beyond my control. A year later I was able to move back & return but had to resign after a while because my disabilities progressing & pregnancy left me unable to work the required hours & I did not want to disrespect my supervisors and coworkers time by calling in regularly.

The first time I worked there everything was awesome. I loved all my supervisors and thought it was awesome we could wear almost anything as long as we weren’t super revealing. I enjoyed the quiet beginnings of my shifts, casual conversation with coworkers while the phone rung, how happy some people were to have someone to talk to even if it was just for a survey, and how comfortable the break room was. The relaxed but structured environment made me feel safe, secure, and confident in my work environment.

The second time I worked there was after COVID had caused all the college students to move home & ReconMR was understaffed so the pressure to preform was a little higher & one of the managers was definitely struggling to handle the pressure but all of the statements I previously made remained true. As my health got worse, supervisors were incredibly understanding when I called in or asked to go home because I was feeling ill. When pregnancy started making me feel even worse and effecting my bladder the support was still unwavering & I never felt pressured to hold my bladder until my break, only for the remainder of my current call which is completely reasonable. If medical care & treatment improves my disabilities to the point where I could work there again I would gladly return.

So all the things they advertise and try to say about the job to make them seem great are false, I was supposed to work full-time but somehow I only managed to work a total of 9 hours in the two weeks that I was employed there. The management is awful it's a bunch of rude kids who apparently don't have much knowledge about the job and can't even answer simple questions. I don't understand the two weeks of training if literally, everything you're saying is scripted as long as you know how to read I think you should be fine. The hours are sporadic and stupid you get sent home early or you don't come to work at all because "there aren't any surveys". This is NOT A STABLE OR RELIABLE JOB I do not recommend this job to ANYONE unless you're super desperate to work but this job might just make you quit. Accepting this job was definitely a huge waste of time and a mistake, I turned down a job opportunity for this bogus job because they made it sound so promising. Also, if you're calling people to conduct a survey they stand behind you or listen in which is weird like people don't know what they're doing or something. Then they want you to "fight for your survey" and "use rebuttals" but am I really supposed to do all that just to get yelled/cussed at and absolutely degraded because someone already told me that they don't want to participate in the survey? Also, I was the only one who got clocked out early one night after the girl came around and said that she was clocking out everyone one by one, I was LITERALLY the only one who she clocked out. Everyone else got to stay until their shift ended and lastly, the surveys are TOO LONG that's why there's hardly any completes because it's hard to get someone to stay on the phone for 20 minutes especially if you had to beg/plead for them to not hang up within the first couple of seconds. (P.S. IT STINKS IN THE CUBICLES!!!)

PLEASE DO NOT WORK AT FOR THIS COMPANY!!!! This company is a huge joke before the virus hit the company was okay and very really organized but sense the virus hit the company became horrible the only supervisors that actually do there job is YUNIZAR AND Johnathan that it the rest are a complete joke the "boss" Caroline is no help and i mean none they dont train you for anything they only give you five minutes to do a test batch when the survey are indepth an need more time to read and understand and give to the interviewers they only train you on the Daily  CENSUS that is nothing us the products that they use for WORK FROM HOME NEVER WORK the dialer is ALWAYS GOING OUT and after a few times it goes out they cut you they dont send you pay stubs you literally have to beg them to get in touch with payroll to get your pay stubs i had been work for them for 3 months an have yet to get a pay stub every week like we are supposed like it was said in training the survey are not 5 mins long they are 15 or more an your mostly dialing number until someone answers and then after 3 hours if you dint get a call they will cut they will cut you for reason that arent  in your control but will cut you anyway  they expect you to go through a test back in 5 mins an the test batch its self isnt even 5 min i will be doing further reporting because the whole job is basically a scam you have a quota but dotn know it you they always say that your on probation but ther are several employees that are in the red just a horrible company to work for so please dont apply i worked for them 3 month and started having crazy issue that ive never had with a call center that ive worked at before they communications with employees is horrible you are stuck at 8.25 regardless on how many survey you get not work it

I highly advise to not apply here unless you are looking for a little extra cash. I've only been here for a few months now and it already feels like a dead-end job. Unless you don't mind your hours almost constantly being messed with (as in being cut due to projects either not working/ending early as well as being sent home on certain days if you do not complete a survey with two and a half hours), a specific staff member that acts like a supervisor/manager (he is not) that polices interviewers on the call floor that makes it extremely uncomfortable to work and speaks to you with a passive aggressive and rude tone every time (he will talk down to you, not sure why), and lastly if you don't care about rude people on the phone. I only applied here because I needed a little extra cash while I was paying a debt off and plan on quitting within the next 1-2 months, as it is now paid off. The main thing that led to me disliking this job was the staff member that I mentioned earlier policing individuals and his constant standing right behind you making you not want to do anything at all (it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable). I am an adult and do not need someone watching me like a child when his job is to give us feedback on calls we've previously had, not to make interviewers feel uncomfortable. You can submit a complaint to HR, but I'm not even sure they do anything due to him still basically harassing employees. Otherwise, if you can handle everything I've explained then working here will be a breeze, but I would highly advise finding somewhere else if possible because working here is not worth it at all.

This job is last resort/out of desperation kind of work. It’s tedious and repetitive. You can have no personality while you work (I.e. exchanging pleasantries with people on the phone, being friendly, etc.) You are expected to act like a cold unfeeling machine. 

The staff is unprofessional and rude when asking questions or asking for help, but that’s only if they even bother to reply to any email you send. And the time you have to wait on them to reply? Expect that time to be deducted from your hours/pay. Because they consider it your fault if you don’t bombard them with emails to get their attention. They will put you on projects you’ve never trained for and YOU have to ask for the training material to be sent to you. They randomly force evening shifters to work beyond the hours they are scheduled and you have to have a “compelling reason” not to. 

If you are a college student who needs a “flexible” schedule or stay at home parent with extra time that just wants some extra pocket change, this may work for you. Although, they are extremely unfair with break time, so if you’re a stay at home parent with little ones who need more attention, keep that in mind.

I should add, WFH applicants please keep in mind you are not eligible for any kind of raises, but they will expect you to train on many more projects than in office employees do for less pay. 

The hiring process was pretty simple , they do a virtual call interview on Microsoft meetings to ask you some questions and tell you more about the job . This is my first job as a interview/ call center position . Was happy about the flexibility in the hours , the time change with Texas is kind of confusing sometimes . But I haven’t received my pay check yet but this entire time I feel like my job is simply just a job , no purpose , no passion . They try and make it fun but managers are not existent and sometimes supervisors because they are extremely understaffed. Idk if I’m still in the process of training or not but the whole interview protocol just seems so in humane , like how are we going to get people to talk to us and complete and interview without making small talk or engaging with them . Easy job but I don’t really see myself learning a lot except people don’t like taking surveys on the phone . Be prepared to get hung up on , called a scam , no answer and voicemails calls . Would only do this if you’re really desperate for a work from home job . I’m really trying to stay and see if it’s gets better but so far I’m not impressed. Also a lot of issues with the system they use , a lot of glitching and shut downs . Needs an update . Be prepared to read from the script only when interviewing
