Before I start with the negatives of this job, I'd like to praise the company for its values and culture most of the time. Meeting the CEO and VP is a pretty cool thing, and this jobs benefits were pretty darn good too. 401K system is pretty good too; they match up to 3%. Profit sharing every 6 months, $2k retention bonus and referral bonus, both after 6 months of employment, as well as the referred, free life insurance, cheap dental and vison insurance, and Blue Cross for medical offering 2 solid plans. Now for the massive downsides: pay, management, and, worst of all, advancement. Starting pay is at $21, not too bad, but it's not enough after learning more jobs and not getting anything after a few. The raise system is atrocious; after learning 7 or 8 specific jobs, excluding key jobs, which offer a $.50 raise but are locked down by other associates who don't learn anything else due to knowing said key position, you get a $.35 raise, but they will always have some excuse like "oh we think you need longer" or "that job doesn't count towards that" or "you need 'on-the-line experience', then refuse to pull the usual associate off to allow you to gain said experience. Also, there is no yearly raise! You get $.50 every FIVE YEARS! This was a fairly recent change too; talk about insulting. Management wasn't good either. They refuse to discipline the associates at key positions who are either, A, clearly slower and less efficient than another associate, or B, constantly making mistakes but never disciplined for it. They will, however, go out of their way to discipline and call out others who hardly make mistakes for a small, easy-to-fix issue. And if you see a clear safety issue that is also involved with quality, you will be blamed for that issue, not the decades old equipment that consistently has issues. Now, lastly, the worst advancement system I have ever seen in my life; oh wait, there is NO ADVANCEMENT! I've seen  guys there for 25 years, and they barely make more than me, and even have the same title as me. The main supervisors have their positions locked down due to being there so long, and that's pretty much the only way to move up; work there for years, yet, they're constantly saying they want you to make this a career, then offer you $.50 an hour additional after 5 freaking years! Amazon offers that every 6 months!!! If you need a quick job, sure, go for it, but do NOT look here for a career; otherwise, your dreams will die.

The typical day doesn't exist in the sales role - One day you may be on the road working with customers, and then the next in the office following up on emails and spending time working with the team in person or via MS Teams on the computer.  Lots of freedom to get the job done the way that works best for the customer and you.  This is a productive company with great personalities in different positions and many career opportunities. For instance I started as an Engineer in Training over 20 years ago, was promoted after being encouraged to sit for my exams and obtaining my Professional Engineering license. I even switched gears and decided to move into technical sales and have really appreciated that role and how it fits my personality.    I've respected  the leadership and my managers over the years, each has taught me certain skills that have improved my abilities.  There have been a few heated moments in my career here, but the company believes in quick resolution and being fair.  Co-workers are good people that treat each other with respect and over time you make a lot of friends. RedBuilt is upfront and very transparent on financials and focuses on continuous improvement.  It's a great place to make a career.  There is a reason a lot of people stay here and retire here, not too many companies left that can be that consistent.

Typical day in sales varies--consists of meeting customers, negotiating, working with specifiers, creating proposals, visiting job sites, helping manage projects through the system. 

Management expects you to have a healthy work/life balance, but also expects you to perform and get your work done.  This is very much the case for the sales department. 

Management is overall very honest and open.  There are plenty of opportunities to advance especially if you work hard and produce.  You just have to be vocal and let your manager know what you want out of your time at the company and where you see your career going.  This isn't just the case for sales, but for manufacturing and engineering also.  People are given the opportunity to learn other parts of the business on a routine basis. 

Culture is very relaxed, but fun and fast paced.  It's almost too nice sometimes though.  Everyone has a job to do, but more accountability for all departments would be an improvement. 

Most enjoyable part of the job is signing new work, helping customers and meeting with them, working with great coworkers and getting paid. 

Lately there have been a lot of improvements technologically that have help the company move forward.

RedBuilt is full of great people. Headquarters has fun events and lunches all the time, and every one is very friendly. On the sales team a majority of us work remote (even pre-pandemic), which has it's pros & cons. Pro's being the typical work-from-home pros, and cons being you're a little more on your own and don't interact with co-workers in person very often. In my experience advancement wasn't very straight-forward, and I had to be pretty flexible with my location. There are lots of incredibly knowledgeable people here, and many of my co-workers have been at RedBuilt 15+ years. Overall I really enjoy my position here and my team, so I don't have any plans to leave - and I would (and have) recommend RedBuilt to any one interested. 

I was recruited by the VP of Sales for my ability to build teams and work with other people. I was never given a chance to do those thing. My experience at Redbuilt was not a good one. Management decided I lacked load development skills to preform my job. I disagree, my skills are adequate and even more advanced than other successful representatives. I truly believe they did not think I fit their mold and used that as an excuse for termination. My work ethic is exceptional and was not a consideration. I took direction and did everything I was told without complaint. I accomplished 100% of the tasks I was given. The hardest part of working at Redbuilt is that management did not allow me to utilize my strengths.

The work environment is productive, always work to be done. Safety is number one priority here over production which is nice. Biggest downside is pay, as a skilled trade worker I believe I'm being underpaid. To be doing structural steel welding, and maintenance/fabrication for other departments here and getting paid under $25 is just mind boggling to me. They definitely don't put enough focus and funding into the steel department, they focus their time/money into the walls and trusses departments. We are usually just seen as a "support group" which leads to a lot of missed opportunities for more profit with structural steel jobs. Which leads to underpaying us because they don't see the full potential of the steel fabrication department.

I'm grateful to be a part of the team at RedBuilt. As one of the outside sales reps working remotely, I recognize the teamwork it takes to serve our customers and contribute to their project's success. I can't speak highly enough about my project manager, regional manager, and co-workers. There are so many people in sales and engineering that have contributed to my learning and the success I've had in my career so far. (not to mention our manufacturing associates that make it all possible!) I really enjoy my position here, as well as the relationships that I get to build and maintain with co-workers and customers. It's easy to see why many folks choose to stay with RedBuilt for decades! 

It is at the end of the day an orders per day job, but you’re supported however you need. The culture is fantastic, safety is the priority and it shows from start to finish you will find that people are looking out for you. On the floor management is good, the higher ups don’t always understand the process fully. You do need to be physically fit, moving 25-50 lbs on your own. But everyone feels like a family and at least at Delaware the associates do a fair amount out of work together. 

Working in the design centers of RedBuilt you get to work on a large variety of projects, from large schools to fast food restaurants to residences keeping the job interesting. There always seems to be something new to learn or discover. RedBuilt is a customer driven company and it shows, customer driven deadlines are highly important and can create pressure. With that said, management does a decent job at showing appreciation regularly with lunches, coffee, or company activities such as baseball games or bowling. 

I appreciate RedBuilt for its cultural values (employee well being, customer success and product quality).  This makes it easy to connect with our daily work.  The leadership is very capable, open and approachable.  We're relatively small, but the management team works hard to see that we're given opportunities to challenge ourselves and grow, both personally and professionally.  Overall I strongly recommend it as a great place to work.
