I worked for this company 10+ years. I was there when it all started and before it grew so big. The company grew very, very quickly. Then acquired Lakeside Medical Group. That was a disaster. We got double the work and no raise. Employees are not appreciated. You are only informed of what you are doing wrong, not ever praised for doing a good job. If you are a good worker and can handle your work load, you will get more. They always expect more from you. Your best is never good enough. The only thing that kept me going back were the patients I was helping and my coworkers. Management and up are not your friends. They are back stabbers and only care about themselves. My supervisor was always in her office with the door shut & a sign up saying in a meeting, do not disturb. You could never get a chance to ask a question or for help. And when the door was open, you could hear her on personal phone calls with her husband,mom,baby sitter. 

I see people saying they are flexible, well that was never the case when I was there. If you clocked in 4 minutes late, you were called into the office. When your annual review came up, they would tell you how many minutes you were late, add it all up and tell you you wasted x amount of work hours for being late. They would tell you you "stole company time" for all that time wasted. 

I managed to stay so long because I was a good employee, I did my work and I minded my own business. But when I saw all my co-workers scared to mess up or scared to get fired, I started to realize how much pressure they really were under. A co-worker of mine had a nervous breakdown at work in front of everyone because of the amount of stress she was under and how badly a medical director had treated her and humiliated her in front of everyone in a meeting. She is no longer with the company, but he is still there, treating people badly. But that is how the company operates. I didn't realize how bad it was until I left and found an amazing job where I am treated like a human being.

A Typical day at work: 
As  a Phone Receptionist / Urgent care Operator.

Answering a multitude of phone calls in a timely manner.

My typical day at work is to check the inpatient fax server for new hospital admits, check for the admits that are out of area and notify the sender to contact the health plan. Distribute the new inpatients to the U.R. nurses who are assigned designated areas. Attach all in coming review, orders, and discharge summaries. Send out emails to the medical directors, nurses, and management as new cases come in through out the day. Enter all cases into the system, verify elig and benefits. Do daily logs for inpatient and discharged patients, upon discharge, request H&P and discharged summaries. Do daily rounds with the medical directors and inpatient nurses. Set up and arrange ambulance transfers to and from hospitals or SNF', enter referrals for any home health or DME that may be needed upon discharge. Give stats at the end of the day of how many admits and discharges for (Head in bed count). When slow, I am asked to help out in the outpatient nurses queue and approve what can be or send on to the medical directors for further review if needed. 

I learned to work in a very fast paced environment and to work efficiently with little or no supervision.

Work with two other coordinators that have the same work ethics, we all get along well together.

Hardest part of the job is there are 3 coordinator's, when one is out, having to pick up there work load along with your own can be challenging. Some days are much busier than others.

I enjoy working with the whole inpatient team, from my co-workers, to the medical directors and inpatient nurses. Everyone works as a team and helps out where and when needed.

I was hired as an at-will employee but advised that the position could turn into a full-time position. Within the first hour of working at the Regal Medical Group, I realized that I could never work for this company (even if offered a full-time position). 

The new hire orientation process was a joke. Well , since it was only a hour long and included standing in a line of new employee hires for 45 minutes outside the Human Resource office. There were no training procedures or work instructions on performing the essential tasks of the position. I had to generate my own standard operation procedures by working with internal resources but most were either new employees with little experience or soon to be ex-employees. It made things a little challenging to piece the work processes together but at least I had a full functioning computer on the first day of work (two to four weeks for a working computer was the norm for new employees). So, basically, I had to learn everything on my own accord. 

Once I was up and running, I soon realized that this company had a major flaw with management. The Vice President of the division had an extremely heavy hand micromanaging all operations under his/her command chain. In turn, I worked for a lame duck Director with no power to influence our work environment. 

As for fellow employees, there was a lot of tension and negativity. Much of it was caused by management but there was also a lot of jockeying for position occurring between the direct team. In turn, it did not leave much room for building substantial relationships with fellow employees.

If you are considering working for Regal to improve patients’ lives, to advance your career or to achieve employment satisfaction, I highly recommend that you look somewhere else!

It was just okay to work here, very repetitive work with not enough direction given to your job duties - you either figure it out or you ask someone else who knows what to do. Felt like there was little to no opportunity for upward growth/promotion and you have to wait for a whole year before they let you apply for a different role within the company. Felt stifled by management refusing to allow cross-training in new skills despite supervisor offering to teach. 

Things I enjoyed: flexibility with work hours is great. Benefits package is decent. It's easy to request PTO and sick leave. Paid holidays and consistent M-F schedule. Great coworkers and team. 
Things I disliked: forced return to office despite vast majority of job able to be done at home. Office is a noisy call center environment with everyone constantly on the phone around you and no privacy. Forced/mandatory overtime. Pay is on the lower end of scale for role. Often felt unappreciated in my role. Little opportunity for growth. 

Overall: the job wasn't difficult, I didn't feel stressed by the work/metrics and I really enjoyed the M-F schedule and benefits package. Wish the pay was higher, it's not a bad place to work, but not the best either. 

Basically all of the supervisors I have met in each department lack management skills. People move up not based on education, skill or competency but on who you know and how long you have stayed with the company. 
The distribution of cases is unbalanced. There are some employees that work and others who don't. The ones who don't basically get away with it. 
The whole company is so awfully unorganized their main priority of saving money is not really happening. 
Let's put it this way, if a member has the opportunity to switch health plans, 95% of the time they do. Nothing ever gets authorized, it takes so long to get something authorized and if someone does not know what to do, it gets transferred to every department. DO NOT EVER pick Regal as your health plan!!! Everybody and their mother will start calling you if you end up in the hospital!!!! 
Lastly, I hate to say this because I love all cultures but if you are not Filipino, expect to work in an environment where 80% of their employees are Filipino.  Learn how to speak their language because you never know if they are speaking about you. 

Only work for Regal if this is your last resort! There is always someone quitting on a weekly basis. Unless you know someone in management then work here. Expect to be micromanaged. It's not a friendly environment, alot of people lack socialization skills but I think it is a culture thing. Alot of very stuck up people work here. Unless you have thick skin, work here. Alot of times management and HR are telling you false promises. I've only been here for 6 months and I am already looking for another job.

A typical day is to confirm which tickets are priority in the morning. Which employees need assistance the most to make sure they're computers are in working order for them to proceed with they're daily tasks. Examples are a monitor issue that needs to be reconfigured, a printer that is not working properly and needs to be troubleshooted or an IP phone that is not working properly and needs to be configured, or replaced. Another priority would be the new hires and the deployment of they're hardware. Making sure all they're IT hardware and network connections are functioning and ready for use.  Re-imaging, installation of software and hardware in the computers soon to be deployed. Troubleshooting all devices as was needed and contacting the manufacturer for onsite technical assistance in case the product is still under warranty.  Implementing Lansweeper and TrackIt in order to account for the companies inventory and employees assigned assets. On occasion there would be a need to configure a live video conference room's projector, phone, or laptop.  I also participated in a couple migrations that included up to 50 computers.  Time management is essential in this field.  There usually are no small things, everything needs to be set in order for the end user to be able to complete their job.  The most enjoyable thing is seeing the client appreciate the end result and all they're tools in place for them to get the work done. You work as a team, communication is crucial on both sides and everything will run more smoothly. I had the pleasure to work with courteous, and professional people who were focused and took pride in they're work.

I've worked for this company for nearly 2 years and when I interviewed i was told my pay would be matched to what I was making at the time but when I was hired and came in to sign the papers they slipped in that i would actually be making less than what they originally stated but that i would get a raise once my probation period was over. I signed the paperwork anyhow because my previous work place was going through a downsize and i didn't want to be left without a job. I never got a raise as they promised after my probation period, I never got a review even after countless reminders to my boss. I finally switched departments and found it to be the same. When I finally did get a review, regardless that my scores were high, I got the minimum 1.5%. I took on an exorbitant amount of extra responsibility and was told that would factor into my review...it did not. After 10 months, i decided to transfer to a less stressful position.  HR confirmed that I would be making between 13.50$ and 14.00$ hourly, i interviewed with the other department and was offered the job....at my current rate. When I reminded the HR rep that she had told me it would be more pay she made an excuse.  
I would never recommend this place to anyone seeking employment, they absolutely lie about how much they pay and they will give you the runaround whenever possible. If you know anyone in upper management, however,  you will be treated overly fair and receive the maximum amount of pay for minimal work and production...you can also expect 3+% raises annually.

RMG pays very competitive wages so you will be well compensated, however, you will have no personal life working 3 weekends/month. RMG used to be a good place to work, now, Management is horrible, unsupportive, very cliquey, inexperienced, and unprofessional. The admin team creates a hostile work environment by yelling or screaming at others in front of you or during meetings. They will also call employees and berate them over the phone, belittle them, and use foul language. They are also very manipulative, they will tell you that you are doing a good job then turn around and tell your manager that you are doing poorly and to write you up. The company work culture is that of everyone for themselves. There is no room for growth unless you know the right people. The people advanced have no leadership experience and often set up for failure. Very, very high turn over, more than any other Medical Group that I have ever worked for.  The most enjoyable part of this job is working from home, that is the only plus and the only reason that most employees continue working at RMG. High pay and working from home are the only Pros, but again, working basically every single weekend (regular schedule, not optional), if you have a family, that is stressful on the work/life balance. This is the only Pro, otherwise the work is miserable, the schedule is ridiculous, and management is horrendous to say the least.

This place controls your every move, the more you do, the more they expect you to do. They monitor your attendance to the "T" if you are late one minute it counts against you. They email you showing you how many minutes you were late for a month at a time to show you how much time you are taking away from doing your work. The prior authorizations have a 5 turn around time and for some 13 days. The managers are constantly emailing you through out the day telling you they want you on day 2 and if you don't  meet those expectations be prepared to be in the principals office like a child. The benefits are not all that great either, each day something changes and each day they want you to email them a spread sheet and say what day you are on with your work and the reason why there's pending auths in your queue. If you are looking for a long term job this isn't the place, a lot of people quit. I am currently looking for another job. You only get 30 min lunch and if you are late 1 minute they are on your back.
