I first started working here in March 2019 in food Service I got fired in July 2020 for my attendance I was able to get rehired back in Food Service October 2023 and I just quit this August I loved this job, I loved the patient's, I had all the pleasant nurses on my floors I worked the Rout department which is with the new moms and babies I enjoyed my co-workers in my department I cared about my performance my quality of food I was serving patients and my attendance this time around the work days are 2x 12 hour shifts, 1x 6 hour shift on every Wednesday a week and you work every other weekend which the hours and shifts was not an issue for me I loved it but the management now in the Food Service Department at Regional One is terrible they don’t care how they treat their employees they don’t care about their employee's complaints they want to overwork their employees for example, the elevator that I usually take to serve my patients breakfast, lunch and dinner is always broken down so in order to get my patients to serve them their meals I have to take two elevators and walk around the whole hospital which is not my biggest issue. it’s the issue that I was never able to get any help with running extra trays for new patients doing floor stock which is stocking the refrigerators of the floors you deliver trays to which I had four different floors to I was responsible for the management don’t care if you’re going through a tragedy they have know compassion for any of that they will never have your back on any situation management will never not go against the unfair treatment of their employees or unruly nurses or patients us the employees are always wrong even when proven to be right on something they will never approve your PTO request I started back working here in October from October to August I put only 2 PTO request in both request got denied and I was a good employee I came to work every day I had good attendance but I couldn’t get approved for time off to use my 2 weeks of PTO that do not rollover to the next year with you that was crazy to me the one manager that we had that had our backs looked out for us as her employees and that would help the employees out they fired the director is terrible at managing HR did talk to the employees they and did say that changes where coming when I quit but I just couldn’t take it anymore with the managers but I did love the job 

You dont get paiid time in a half when for recall when you are on call for recall. new surgery  director that has been there 2 yrs plus and an educator she brought from up north last December of 2017 that she made surgery manager for Trauma Surgery. They have turned that once lovely place, upside down. TN has that law saying they can fire you without reason so they honor it. The former employees fired in trauma surgery have been there 5, 10, 30 + yrs for no reason and they all were of color. She has hired many but non of color. The management in chandler and truma surgery is too top heavy and have been fired from M Hospitals.They do not fight for their employees. Management micromanages, retaliates if you disagree with them or speak up, toys with your schedule/time-off/vacation/medical leave/bonuses, does not treat everyone fairly, and they do no follow policy when it comes to employee rights so they are always being reported constantly. However, the reports are addressed but swept under the rug.Last thing told to the surgery medical/nursing staff department was to "wash the walls" on their down time. that is what their environmental cleaning dept is for. Working holidays and weekends gets old when you are mistreated. The managers lie lie lie!!! They keep firing blacks in this dept. Beware!

Typical day at work was to check trucks make sure you have the proper equipment for the day. Once a 9-1-1 call came out or a doctor appointment patient needed to be picked up, my partner and I would get in the ambulance and do the assignment. We had to do paper work on a tough book (computer) for every patient that we came in contact with. 

I learned a lot from working at regional one. I learned how to do my first 12 lead. How to get supplies ready for a paramedic. 

Management at regional one was not that helpful. Some of the supervisors were not leaders. Most of the supervisors would take part in gossip and was more interested in the gossip than helping a fellow employee.

The hardest part about my job was going to a complete strangers house and telling the family member that their loved one has passed away from a heart attack and that we as EMS providers have done everything we possibly could to save them.

The most enjoyable part of my job was to help people who needed the help. I felt very accomplished when I got a patient to the hospital and they say thank you. I live for those moments.

Beware of the Outpatient Admitting Dept (Patient Service Clerk, Patient Account Rep, and etc). They should clean house of a particular manager for the entire revenue department. Please stay away! Working under this leadership maybe be a whole new world for you as it was for me. Ex: Only one person can be off at a time. Request time- off one month in advance. Make your doctor's appts after 2:30 only. If it snows you must come in or receive an occurrence without pay. It's not the entire hospital policy only management for Outpatient Admitting/Revenue Cycle. No drinking at your desk (even in a spill proof cup). I get thirsty! Tests every few weeks...I mean really. I'm not in school! I know companies have rules, but a few of managements rules seem a bit excessive. The turnover rate is horrible. They will never keep new hires. These are just a few dissappointments you will have by accepting employment in these depts. I would have loved to have stayed with Regional One Health just not under this leadership. It's a thriving hospital with great potential, but the management must get better.

Management awful, Try to recruit you into personal cliques. Respect and kindness are assumed as weakness.  Try not to smile or appear happy too much. Stay in patients rooms as much as possible.  They will swear a patient called them out of their names and tell you “I’m not going back in there, can you take them?”  The travel nurses will leave floor together at the same time, but only one will let you know they’re leaving. The Doctors and residents respond immediately, some will just come to the floor.  They’re extremely helpful, initially I was in awe. Most would call back and Thank you for making them aware of their patient discharge, especially if you print dc instructions in patient own language. I really enjoyed the interaction and their pain management protocol.

I was so excited to work at a level one trauma center and LEARN. This will NOT happen at this hospital. RT’s are not respected, there is no protocol therapy and you can’t even turn down the FiO2 without having to call a resident or attending to ask for permission. When a shock trauma is in, you plug in the vent, you connect the patient and that’s it.  You’re a glorified button pusher and transporter for vent patients. 

  If you enjoy Q3 vent checks and anywhere between 20-30 treatments on 2-3 different floors, code blues, shock traumas, ER time, doing 3-6 bedside bronch assists a day,  AND lack of equipment (not kidding, that is a work load for ONE therapist) this place is for you. If you enjoy seeing patients with poor trach and oral care because RT’s either don’t have the time or don’t care, this place is for you. If you don’t value teamwork, enjoy a hostile work environment and not being respected as a RT, then this place is for you. 

If you don’t agree with any of the working conditions mentioned above, STAY AWAY. 



PFS Director & Management will paint you roses but all you get is weeds. the work environment is negative, disrespectful on either side of the AR teams. Training is VERY disorganized. No room for advancement unless that person leaves that job title. When you express your worries to Human Resources, they actually go behind your back and let the Direct & Management know what you said about them which makes the situation even worse. They measure every little metric but don't give you the tools you need to succeed. They are so focused on personal opinions of what others say and feel about you as a person. This company is very messy! Management will target you, talk bad about every employee. Honestly it is too long to name everything!. Don't waste your time applying for this job EVERYONE that works there is unhappy with there job because of how the Director & Management treats their employees unless you ate their buddies

I/ve gottened a lot of experience working at REGIONAL One. A typical day consist of a huddle when you clock in telling you what happened on the shift the  night before and what needs to be done on each patients, then you get all of your morning vital signs after that you feed a person if they need to be feed then you start on your baths for the day and change the linens if they need to be changed then you document your baths and vital signs on the EMR which i believe we were using Epiq  on the EMR system which is very user friendly. Throughout the day for the most you are on your feet. We were short staffed on most days,Management was great they do care about you and your needs. My overall experience working there was exciting just to know i worked in the trauma unit therefore it was always some excitement going on. Taking care of the critically ill patients taught me a lot. If i could go back i would because i learned new skills everyday.

When I first started at ROH, I loved it! To be apart of the only level one hospital in the area was an honor. I quickly learned that I had made the wrong decision. We are short staffed EVERY shift (&thats the way they staffed us). We were chastised for not being able to monitor 8-12 ventilators every 3 hrs, while completing 25-30 treatments in several (mostly 5) different areas, while having to bronch our patients, respond to Code Bs, do STAT treatments in the ER, and respond to the OR if they need you. I believe the culture needs an overhaul. I worked there for over 5 yrs and left due to the lack of support from management and HR. The HR department is TERRIBLE! They are not there to help you but to find a way to fire you. I loved my supervisor but hated management in the big building. It’s a great place to test your abilities but not a place for long term goals. RESPIRATORY IS NOT RESPECTED THERE!!!! 

I will never work at Regional one again. We recieved a new manager and she reorganized the entire office to where it ran inefficiently and chaotic. Patients were complaining but she blamed it on the employees. We were short staffed. If an employee tried fixing something we would get in trouble for not "staying in our lane" or "following chain of command." It felt like jail! On top of that, they told my department we would be relocating 20 mins away and on the other side of town. We were only given 2 months and when we asked I'd we couldn't make it to that location, we were given a look of oh well and a shoulder shrug. ROH does not sincerely care about their employees. The corporate leaders are even disorganized and have no moral standards. They wanted us to refer patients to them even though Cardiology appts were 4 months out but could get them in with another office within 2 weeks!  ROH only cares about money, NOT patient care!
