Overall this was a very positive and encouraging agency to work. As a new employee I was given plenty of assistance and my questions were always welcomed. I had a wonderful supervisor who answered any questions promptly and thoroughly. Upon arrival into the agency I was welcomed and felt like I was joining a "family" environment. 

As the months passed I continued to build a strong working relationships with my clinical supervisor/ coworkers, worked closely with other programs within the agency, and worked openly with other community agencies. I never experienced a problem collaborating with another agency because Reliance House has a strong rapport within the community. The teamwork within the SSAP program was impeccable.

There were many ways to be involved at Reliance House. There were the options of attending "Leadership Academy", attending a committee, or leading a training. I was impressed with the college reimbursement option available while being employed.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The clients.  The support and education the company  provides. Did I mention the clients? You'll meet some of the people you would have never met, if you hadn't taken the job. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If I had to miss a day. LOVED WORKING THERE.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Collaboration, Supportiveness, Guidance, Responsibilities all in order to  help the clients be the best that they want to be. It's about Client Focus on helping people find their happiness.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The days flew by... there was always more I wanted to do. But the clock would run out. My days were assisting, planning, executing plans.  Much more. Being creative, enjoying the people I served in their needs or goals.

On a typical day I watch over the members keeping them safe. Also I work of life skills, which are things that are used to try to intergrade the members back into society. I've learned that people with disabilities need some attention but are in most cases self reliant. The management is very understanding and helpful when help is required. My co-workers are some of the most helpful people I met. They are reliable and trustworthy. The hardest part of the job is watching the members go through what they go through because you cant do anything to help them. The most enjoyable part of working at reliance house is when see the members excitement when they accomplish something on they own and are successful on there own.

Great agency to work for.  Everyone here shares the same love for all people and desires to help those with mental health issues. A typical day is arriving for your shift and doing shift change with the shift that you're replacing. You may have to count controlled substance medication, account for any money/petty cash on premise. Account for program cellphone, program keys, program gas card and or credit card. Be informed about any issues that the prior shift may have encountered. Sign off on the shift change accountabilities, then check your agency email. Depending on the day, you may have to bring the members shopping or to any scheduled appointments. Some programs require you to cook the meals. 

A typical day at work would start by receiving report from my superiors or other staff on duty. I would count control medications and money at the beginning of the shift and close of shift. Appointments would be met; example a eye appt with a member and you bring them to their appt. and return them back home afterward. Asissting with healthy eating; helping a member prepare a well balanced meal. Taking members to the grocery store; helping them balance their budgets. Laundry skills. Being available to diffuse a potiential crisis. Helping members use exercise as a relief to daily stress.

I worked in the Young Adults Residential Program. My day to day duties varied and consisted of planning activities, implementing activities, providing support, and crisis intervention, teaching life skills and working on progress notes either by documentation in daily log or monthly on the electronic file. I learned many new techniques on how to approach different issues that may arise, I loved working with each and every co-worker and built great relationships. The job was not without challenges as it can sometimes be difficult to motivate individuals but often the results were well worth the efforts.

They care about their employees and treat them fairly. It’s like working for a family.

Sometimes having to deal with incompetent coworkers.

Fairness and relaxed environment. Family culture 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arriving to shift chatting with staff. Completing duties. Working with members, counseling, prompting, med cueing, documentation, handling crisis situations when necessary, outings ect

Benefits  ok. The time off is great & guilt free (most don’t abuse it). Meeting the state requirements is frustrating and RH makes it  more complicated & show little  support so the work can end up feeling meaningless. Value statement well intentioned, but applied inconsistently. Known staff/mgmt issues ignored. Raising pay not a priority. Short staffed since COVID and we’re all burnt out, but upper levels seem unaware just how much. 

I was hired as the sole domestic and international business travel auditor of Electric Boat. My job was to transition a system of submitting paper expense vouchers with immediate payment and a year long backlog of auditing vouchers to an online system with a one week turn around on audit, approval and payment of expense vouchers.
Once that system was fully functional the purpose of my employment ended. I graduated college at same time and looked forward to pursuing employment within the legal community

I loved the people that I worked with at Reliance Health. They became my very best friends and a part of my family. I miss working with my co-workers. However, the program that I worked for was very stressful. My supervisors knew the program was not like any others and did help with stress management and self care. The Management was positive and was extremely helpful. The environment at Reliance Health was positive and very friendly. The hourly pay is low, however, the bonus used to make up for the difference to help families be able to afford daily life.
