Taken over by Reliant Care in 2009, facility specializes in both geriactric care as well as mild behavior and mental health residents. The job is what you make it.Typical days are busy and that helps the time pass. The most importatnt thing to do with co-workers is keep the channel of communication open. Nursing home jobs seem to come with high turnover and sadly Westview has that issue so there is always a chance that you will have to stay over and help cover a shift.  The hardest part of the job, thankfully, doesn't happen that often. All staff was (as of my leaving) required to learn CALM as part of the job which includes, as the last form of non-compliance, safely physically restraining a resident. Which is the worst part of the job.
It can be a rewarding job helping people deal with their everyday lives and for others making their last days as comfortable as possible.
I personaly learned a lot from working with the staff and residents at Westview and consider them my second family.

In my time there I had many different day plans, but as an aide, you come in, check your residents and your halls, get report, and after that you get in there and help people. You do your work as a team with the other employees, and then if you are done for a moment, you clean. 

As a CMT, you come in and count and accept the cart while getting report. After that you start your med pass, keeping the MAR completed as you go. After med pass, you do your necessary treatments. You then are to begin your next pass. After your med pass is done, you check to make sure that your inventory and cart are stocked and all is clean for the next tech to take your place.

As a Medical Records Assistant, my days varied, but I was usually maintaining files, either in the file room or in the charts on the units themselves. This was honestly my favorite position of all while working there.

The culture currently being created by the Management Team is to ensure all employees understand that they are disposable. The turnover rate for Department Heads alone is something I've never seen. The Management Team believes that verbally abusing and demoralizing their employees is how you get them to be more productive. Whether you are hourly or salary, expect to work and be available 24/7. If you are hourly, you aren't getting paid for all the work you are expected to do at home at night or on the weekends. They will tell you one thing when trying to hire you but then expect something completely different once they have you in the door.  They tell you not to believe the reviews because "it's just disgruntled employees." Believe what you read. They sell you a lie very convincingly like a conman, and they are good at it. There are great people working there because they believe in what they are doing but they quickly exit once they realize they will be treated like trash.

When I started it was okay pay is good decent benefits and all that, but soon you realize it is horrifically disorganized from the inside out, they don't communicate with each other in the office at all, schedules tend to change constantly without warning, training is a joke they will put you with someone who's been there maybe a month to train you and then make it your fault when you don't do something right. 
One person will say to do one thing then suddenly someone else is calling you to tell you that is incorrect. 
On top of that a lot of the field staff has family in the office so trying to complain is not going to get you anywhere except making your job harder.
They do not care about you or your problems or your health. If your having a medical emergency you will have to wait until they find someone to cover you(good luck on that) or you'll could get charged with willful abandonment 

I loved working with "most" of my co-workers, and loved working with the residents. As far as the company its one of the biggest jokes I have ever seen. There were way to many cheifs and not enough indians as the old saying goes. Never knew who i was   sopost to be listening to. Communication between departments is pretty much non existent. And in this field of work communication between everybody is very important to give the residents the best care possible. And a couple of the "nurses" that are still employed there would do anything to make your job and life even harder. Low pay, no raises, and the rather embarrassing insurance that are offered is why they have such a big turn over. I would NOT advise any body that wants a good career to to apply.

High stress environment with multiple tasks expected from you. Very little time to take any breaks basically have to eat on the run. Most staff are treated or talked to like they are stupid or have like they are a bother. Run out of supplies for the patients frequently. Do not care what is going on in personal life and will make you feel like a bad person for calling in even if it is due to an emergency. Poor management. In a years time there was 3 administartors, 3 ADONs, 2 DONs, and several other management positions with multiple people quitting. Very short staffed.. Many wonderful nurses and RCCs. The patients are amazing but one must have patience with this job. This is due to behaviors that many patients will have. This facility has rehab, alzheimers, geriatric, assisted, and TBI units.  

Four seasons living center has a fantastic pay scale. That being said however, covid changed them tremendously. I loved my position there pre covid. Then staffing became an issue, what staff was there was overworked and underappreciated. If you didn’t want to work extra because you were exhausted, you were made to feel guilty, causing people to overwork and become burned out. Management within the building changes so frequently that consistency among administrators/DONs is almost impossible. Hard workers are taken advantage of and those that do the bare minimum are not held to the same standards as their co-workers. ‘Better to have somebody than nobody’ is the common excuse for keeping sup-par employees. The ones who care about their jobs practically kill them selves to keep up until they are drowning and forced to leave for their own mental/physical well-being.

Not working there any longer,!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Every single part was extremely stressful! Even when the work didn’t need to be stressful they had a way to ensure it was

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile environment at all times! The majority of employees are thieves. Or they are stealing actual cash, stealing time, stealing supplies, or stealing the confidence of those they manage. They are all still. Culture is very quick and too many affairs staff not enough being put towards the resident.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
 a typical day at the company would be comparable to typical day in pergatory.  No laughter, no happiness, just sad Staff and sad residents. The normal day would consist of me stating to myself over and over again “ I can’t believe people really live like this”

This place needs a lot of help but you find yourself met with leadership who are stuck in their ways. Their administrator is good but is overpowered by the DON. They have a narcotic issue there and continue to let the nurse work there because they can’t afford to lose her and no one wants to work night shift. They keep incompetent staff around because they’re already working with a skeleton crew. I do NOT recommend the RCCposition. It looks glorious but the DON wants you there from 7-4 or 5. Plus you’re on call every other weekend and you’re expected to work the floor because they don’t have enough floor nurses. Their expectations are unreasonable and the training is poor. You can’t change or help a place that doesn’t want better for themselves.

A typical night in a skilled nursing facility consisted of helping residents with their medical needs as well as their mental needs. Worked in a home setting environment with some units under close supervision. As a Charge Nurse I took care of their making sure their medications, treatments and other nightly needs were well cared for. Sometimes it consisted of keeping the residents up to date as for as their medical diagnosis. Learned to key in on major elements to long term and head trauma care. The management kept me up to date on educational needs. The co-workers worked as a team to care for the needs of the residents. The hardest part of the job was saying good bye to a group of people who needed me the most. The most enjoyable part was seeing a smile on their face knowing that I had done a good job.
