Very demanding job, with little or no recognition, not compensated well for our immense work load. No set hours. There is no such thing at 8 to 5 here. They see patients until 7 pm and 6 pm every day except Thursday and Friday. The majority of the time you leave late. You don't work a full 40 hours, it's 38.75, so you will not receive overtime for staying late to treat patients. An plan on coming in during inclement weather, no matter how bad it is and not being allowed to leave even if the weather is dangerous. 
Great training given, and continued training offered. My co-workers were talented, and outstanding at what they do. The hardest part of the job was keeping a good patient flow to keep patients on time to see the doctors. You will have a very heavy work load on top of patient care. It made it very difficult to complete all the administrate work. 
Very stressful environment. Management is very critical, mainly because they have so much pressure on them to meet company numbers monthly. (number of patients seen) You will rarely if ever be praised by them or feel that you are valued for your hard work and skills. Patient satisfaction is the companies priority, so there is a lot of pressure on you to make their experience good. Which was very hard some days because their patient load is so high, I felt rushed to room the patients. And as a Medical Assistant you are the face of the company.
The best part of the job was caring for the patients. The satisfaction of seeing their health improve over time, especially high risk patients. If I could make them smile and put them at ease it made my day. The fast paced environment made the day go by quickly.

My day currently starts from making reminder calls to patients via phone calls or the patient portal messages. Following that I send out the no show and cancellation letters, check referral approvals and follow through with the necessary steps for the patient. While doing all of this, I am checking patients in and checking them out. During the check out process, I am scheduling the patient their follow up appointments, as well as calling other department within the company and outside of the company to schedule any orders/procedures they require. I have learned many things within this company such as being able to verify a patients insurance within the websites. Management is amazing within the office and within the company. They are always guiding us to better ourselves and the company. My co-workers are some of the best group of people I've ever worked with. We are a team, and always doing what we can do better a process if it doesn't seem to be working efficiently- We all understand that we work hand in hand to make the experience here for our patients an experience they want to come back and be part of. I enjoy my job because I am helping people in so many different ways. Patients come here because they are sick or something is not right, and if I can put a smile on their face while checking out, then I know that I made a difference for them.

Plantation Street office is outdated and disgusting. Coworkers sit around during down time and make inappropriate jokes instead of cleaning and caring for equipment. Cannot work as a team due to lack of trust with coworkers always running to management with every mistake a trainee makes. No room for advancement. Was sold a dream and was delivered a nightmare. Manager swore on a daily basis, at coworkers and in conversations. Not sure how someone like her could of ever made it into management. 

Coworkers were ok too. We never had any breaks in our department, could only walk away from work stations at lunch. No cell phone use what so ever. Employees were not treated fairly. Some workers would get written up for the same thing others got away with. Policies do not make sense. They did care very much about how patients were treated though. But they did not care about how employees were treated.

Benefits are great, pay, not so much.  Since the covid crisis, the demand is overwhelming.  There are not enough employees, and the expectation to keep up with your job is impossible.  You can't voice your opinion, it falls on deaf ears.  The company cares mostly about the patient's feed back and one negative review is all it takes to ruin your career.  The way the company runs is old and not up to date.  You are doing more work than you were hired to do, including things that are out of your realm, and should be done by other departments.  If you can't keep up with the work becuase you're doing things that you should not be doing, you get spoken to.  Your ideas fall on deaf ears, and the upper management is all they care about.  They don't care about the employees that do the "grunt" work.  Do not consider working here.

collecting samples of blood and other fluids from patients. Prior to 

collection, it is my responsibility to assure that all 

collection instruments and environments are sterile and of first use.

After sample collection, it will include 

correctly labeling the collection container with pertinent patient 

information for identification, and subsequently must complete and 

file companion paperwork to trace the route of the sample from 

collection through lab work through final analysis and diagnosis and 

finally to proper disposal of the fluids. Any error in the job of a 

phlebotomist can have consequences that range from misdiagnosis 

to fatal contamination. In addition, phlebotomists on a hospital staff 

will also be required to train other phlebotomists in sample collection 

and follow up.

This place (at least the Department I was working in) was truly unprofessional and unhealthy to work in. Training needs to be given to management. Staff members come from all backgrounds and management needs to truly understand how to talk to staff member. In this Department the disrespect from management is so blunt and in your face. It a do as I say and not as I do attitude. The fact that RMG has a culture of if someone have a title behind their name they are  more important than someone else. It an underlying culture that truly needs to change. Everyone that is hired is important not just the ones who are Managers, Supervisors, Leads, or any other titles behind your name. This company in my opinion is not the best company to work for. If I knew the culture than I would of never chosen this company. In order to keep good working staff you must treat them with respect and show that they are humans beings not just a person in a cubicle.

Reliant is a great place to work if you have a strong work ethic and want to be part of a team.  Most departments are high volume so there is no sitting around - the days pass quickly so you need to be ready to work hard all day.  There are many departments that are still working short staffed but upper management are working to correct this....so we are told. 
I believe wages are fair but every company, including Reliant,  could do better to improve wages for patient facing staff. 
You will find many departments are close knit families and participate in many celebrations - birthdays, retirements, holidays, weddings and births which helps with staff satisfaction and employee retention.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It used to be a wonderful organization before the giant evil optum conglomerate gobbled them up and started financially harming staff. This is a company that desperately needs to unionized 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The merger was rough. Lost a lot of great people and benefits.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was wonderful before Optum and the burn them/ churn them max 2% raise environment from this 500 Billion Dollar org that controls clinics, hospital and the insurance side under United Healthcare. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stress and limiting contact between patients and doctors are their game now. Used to not be that way.

The people you work with makes a huge difference here, and will either make or break your experience at Reliant. Some departments and locations are warmer and more diverse and welcoming than others. Work-life balance is awful, and the entire company seems perpetually understaffed, but upper level management doesn't often seem to care. Immediate supervisors are supportive. Overall, workers here are overworked, underpaid, slightly underappreciated and nevertheless somehow some of the kindest folks you'll ever work with.

Reliant wasn't that bad to work for. i loved my manager and supervisor was more like a friend then a supervisor but that can be both good and bad. very fasted based the doctors i worked for were amazing if you ever needed any help they were there to help you that also all depends where you work as well they have a lot of different locations. reason why i left was because i hate call center jobs and we went from being secretaries, patient face to face contact to being a call center and more. i felt like no-one stuck up for us and everyone elses work was dumbed on us witch is sad because i would of loved to stay there.
