In theory the clinic operates like a commercial dialysis clinic. There are a few excellent employees but many that spend more time avoiding work or being bullies. Management doesn't address issues with problem employees so the problem continues (repeated lengthy breaks and time off the treatment floor, late starts or no shows, overall poor work ethic). If you buddy up to management, you can have an easy ride. If you're a hard worker, you'll be taken advantage of by lazy coworkers and management because somebody has to take care of the patients. Caring for inmates isn't the issue with this job. It's dealing with the other employees.  Most inmates are respectful and thankful for the care provided.  Equipment is older, refurbished and the company doesn't want to put additional $$ into updating it. 

This company does not care about their employees. You are always watching over your shoulder. There is no job security as you have the Department of Corrections and CharDonnay Managers that can walk you out for no prominent reason. There is ZERO support by upper management. The staff you work with are lazy, hide from work or stab you in the back. There are very few good coworkers. The good coworkers are taken advantage of and not appreciated by other staff, management or company. Poor/unfair wage compensation bonuses, they are based on hours worked or your managers poor job evaluation. Expected to work with minimal staff so that a manager can get a bonus for low hours or no overtime.

The pay is good with yearly raises 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Inexperienced nurses that are not able to meet monthly adequacy’s. Techs that are there for the money, not for the patients. The techs run the unit

Slackers, inexperienced staff with a regional manager that has no clinical experience 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get the floor set up to start while techs complain about the job and how to get through the day as fast as possible so they can go home

Having the ability to work from home twice per week and the flexibility to take care of family and self without reprimand has improved my work/life balance tremendously. I have been with the company for almost 3 years and within that time I was promoted to management and have been given the opportunity to lead a team for our growing company. Our office culture is fun, positive and I truly enjoy how well our team works together.

This is the first company I can honestly say I enjoy working with, they care about their employees, great leadership and flexibility hours. I have nothing bad to say about this company, I enjoy very day coming to work. I have never said this about any company, but Chardonnay is different, they really care. 

I work with great people who work together and help each other.  We have fun and help each other.  My boss is great and nurse manager is supportive and gives good feedback so that I can grow as a nurse to give the best patient care possible to the inmates.

CDI is a patient first employer, which is rare in the healthcare landscape these days. Employees feel valued and are empowered through education to grow.  Nursing, CCHT and Biomed staff work very closely together and have fun while doing it, and this is felt by the patients. Management supports the team personally and professionally. CDI feels like a team and a family. 

I love working for Chardonnay at Woodland Correctional Facility. Just like any job you have your ups and downs with all the different personalities, but overall it is a nice place to work. The nurses and PCT’s are very helpful and willing to step in the help with anything. 

Worked there 3 years and had 4 different managers.  Management was terrible at communication. Officers were the best.  Nurses that they brought in had no idea what they were doing.  Other techs drawing up medications for nurse who had no idea what dose they were on.  Treat inmates like garbage.  

CDI Health is a great place to grow your career and this company is growing fast. All of the employees in the Austin office have a great team spirit and are truly kind and supportive of one another. The energy in the office is relaxed yet productive. The most enjoyable part of the job? All the catered lunches!
