RTI brags that they are a ‘growing company’ w/ ‘leadership opportunities’ w/ ‘great pay’ w/ a ‘work life balance’ w/ a ‘teamwork culture’; this is not true from my experience. Employee concerns and feelings are not considered. I was spoken to as if I wasn’t a person and my thoughts were belittled. Direct supervisors are too busy to support employees because they are overtaxed with their excessive and incalculable workloads. The PTO plan sounds generous, but it’s frowned upon to use or it’s simply denied. There is no consistency or organization with high level management. Everyday requirements and expectations are unpredictable and erratically communicated. Leaders pass on information through aggressive, disrespectful and cold emails. And the emails are received at all hours. RTI’s high level employees model a divisive workplace culture and encourage spiteful behaviors across departments. The environment is non-collaborative, negative, snotty, not personable and back-stabbing. Turnover is evidently high for obvious reasons. I am so disappointed with this company; I had heard they were respectable, but my experience was far from decent. This organization requires an urgent leadership and ownership revamp if they genuinely are seeking cultural improvements

Residential Transitions, INC is a great company to work for! Not only does the company treat employees exceptionally well, allow a high level of autonomy, and offer an abundance of entry-level opportunities for recent graduates, they promote almost exclusively internally. The company is very new and continues to grow rapidly. All of the management team is approachable and does not engage in micromanaging, instead, they use a transformational leadership style.

Previously, I had no work experience in the mental health field and was uncertain about how I would find my niche in the industry. I feel that anyone with patience, a willingness to help others, and persistence can really thrive in working with people with disabilities. The trainings have continued to improve to better equip new hires for working with clients. In my experience, I have learned so much about how to better work with people and feel I can take these skills with me in all of my future roles.

They host monthly team happy hours, have a dog-friendly office, allow a casual dress code, and offer flexible schedules to work around your busy life. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to further their career in human services or if you are just looking to gain transferrable work experience.

orking as a Program Manager in RTI’s CRS program has honestly been a great experience. The whole vibe here is about caring for the residents and supporting each other. Leadership is involved, easy to talk to, and actually pays attention to what is going on, which makes a big difference. You really feel like people want you to succeed.

The teamwork is one of the best parts. Everyone helps each other out, people jump in when things get busy, and there is a real sense that we are all trying to do the right thing for the residents. It is not perfect, but people genuinely care and it shows.

What stands out most is how much the staff cares about the residents. People take their time with them and put thought into decisions. You can tell the culture is really focused on doing what is best for the clients.

If you want a job where the team has your back, leadership is supportive, and the residents are at the center of everything, the CRS program at RTI is a pretty great place to be.

I really wanted to love working here and had hoped this would be a great place to start my career in mental health but boy was I wrong. The clients are all great, a few definitely have their moments but it was awesome getting to know them and help them. That being said, training is very minimal, I didn’t know what was going on or what I was suppose to do/who to contact the majority of the time. Clients missed important appointments due to no communication. Upper management has ZERO personal accountability at all. It always seems to be someone else’s fault. Nobody feels supported at this job, even lower management. They’ll hire pretty much anyone which led to some really sketchy/lazy people being hired. People won’t show up for their shifts and you have to stay until someone else gets there. This is awful if you have kids or other commitments. Never reimbursed for mileage/expenses. Never received my PTO payout even though I put my notice in and fulfilled it. Didn’t receive holiday pay for thanksgiving, Christmas, or new years. You also can’t use pto until you’ve been with the company for 60 days. The offer same-day pay but it only worked for me my first week. 

I was super excited about this job when I first started. And it was so rewarding to work with clients and make a difference in their lives. But as time went by, I started to see all the flaws with upper management and how they treat their front line employees. Our supervisor at the site I worked at got fired unexpectedly and there was little to no support for several weeks from upper management. It fell on me to keep our site afloat. Even when I reached out and told them I was burning out, I was shrugged off. I didn't receive proper training or compensation for keeping things together at our site and all our clients taken care of. 
In general, we were always under staffed and being stretched thin. Clients would sometimes get abusive towards staff and little to no support was given for those situations despite client contracts stating that mistreatment of staff could end their services. 
The amount of pay you receive is not worth the amount of work you end up doing. It's incredibly discouraging. 
Being a support and getting to know clients is the best part of the job. You meet a lot of unique individuals and get to watch the progress they make while you work with them. 

RTI does not provide office space for community positions, so any paperwork/online training/daily documentation is to be done in community and you are responsible for finding the location. Expect to spend significant time driving during the day if you are community based. In my experience, I was not clearly informed that I would be 
working in a different position than the one I was hired on for. Direct management is mostly good with little interaction with upper management. The culture is relaxed with monthly breakfasts and other staff events, although it is difficult to get to know coworkers when you are based in the community. The amount of driving throughout the day ended up being more than what was advertised (in my personal experience, at least). My direct manager was very busy at all times but made sure to check in and respond to any questions I had. I enjoyed the variety of clients I was able to work with. The training sessions were helpful and informative.

Your day is spent typically driving clients around, assisting them with daily skills of living (like bringing them to grocery stores, or finding them resources), or whatever goals they have for themselves. Once every couple of months you'll assist them filling out paperwork. 
Relatively it's pretty easy work, especially once you get into the motion of things. My supervision was super easy to get ahold of when I needed some support. I liked that they didn't tell me what to do but collaborated with me when trying to find a solution.  You get reimbursed for the mileage you put in, even when driving to another clients house - super nice.
I'm an introverted person, so I got drained moving location to location and being out in public constantly  - which is a me problem, not the company. Overall, this job is good for building your experience in the field, I loved the fact that everyone was interested in the field so you didn't have to deal with workers who may stigmatize clients or say rude things (which I have experienced with other jobs like this).
