Management was just plain awful! No communication, sarcastic and no follow through at all. This was mostly on my Regional and location level not upper level management. Strangely enough it was better the higher up you go but they still didn't address issues as diligently as they should. There was always a lot of drama, management talking about others and peers talking about others with no real concern to stop that. Hours were longer than I was told when I started. 

Pay was good, benefits were great but came with a big price tag. Overall I left due to health issues but I wouldn't have lasted long under the current conditions with management. Ironically after leaving I learned our manager was let go. Patients were always first but yet behind the scenes there was joking and chatter about them, lacking completely in professionalism. 


There were many attempts to configure the front desk to make it easier for the patients but all in all they opted for making it more complicated for patients and easier for staff. This was about whiny co workers who simply wouldn't operate as a team, it still put more work on us because the patients didn't understand well or paperwork was too lengthy so we had to complete for them anyway. 

No decision was well thought through. It was just put in play so we were always being reactive instead of proactive.


I won't say a terrible place to work but definitely became a place I didn't want to be over a two year time frame. Extremely high turn over and completely devalues employees.

Resurgens is a fairly typical mid-sized company. They look after their bread and butter - the physicians and medical staff - and just try to keep everyone else placated enough to stick around. If you are medical staff, I highly recommend this company.

For others (scheduling, front desk, etc), your pay will be below industry standards. Health benefits used to be pretty good but recently they've opted for only high-deductible plans and the cost to add a spouse/family is priced above your level (it seems to be intended for the physicians primarily). If you are a single person, it is unlikely you will be able to afford a one-bedroom apartment at your pay level, depending on your office's location.

The atmosphere is generally congenial and there are lots of little office perks that do make a difference in the day-to-day enjoyment of  your job - things like break rooms with vending machines and coffee machines; occasional bagels/pizza/etc; monthly birthday/anniversary celebrations complete with desserts... The company is genuinely interested in customer/patient care and it feels good to be able to look after the patients' best interest. These things and the friendly and dedicated manner of coworkers make the place a pleasant place to work.

Management at Resurgens is absolutely horrible. There is poor communication and favoritism galore. It is very clear that the upper level management has no clue how bad things are at our location and there is clearly no intention of passing that along. Employees are rude and are always looking out to gain a leg up by putting someone else down or reporting you. It’s a drag walking in here daily. Some employees get constantly chastised for mistakes while others barely get a slap on the wrist for the same things. If you aren’t a favorite you will NEVER be in the clear. every little thing you do will be scrutinized and every human mistake that is made will be grounds for a meeting. The atmosphere is miserable, you can’t even breathe or so what’s best for the patient without knowing you’ll be getting a call no matter how small. The employees clearly come last. for the last TWO incidents of inclement weather we have either stayed open completely or waited until the VERY last minute to close because patient money comes before employee safety.

A typical work day of appointment scheduling is answering over 100 calls a day.  We answer phones in a timely manner, never over 3 rings.  We take all insurance information, demographic information, emergency contacts, determine if referral is needed from PCP, access patients injuries and determine which type of physician they need.  Online requests are sent in and those calls are returned to make appointments.  Management is always available for customer service that cannot be resolved by schedulers.  Alot of times the patients voice thier concerns to the schedulers and we determine who in management is needed to resolve the issue.  The hardest part of the position is dealing with patients who are upset and angry.  The most enjoyable part of the job is finding resolution for those who are upset, angry and in pain. Having patients ask you your name, and say "Bless you for helping me"!

Working at Resurgens Orthopaedics was a rewarding experience allowing me to learn and prosper as an employee.  Of course, it was stressful, but rewarding.  I furthered my knowledge of customer service, and proper coding of orthopaedic procedures.  I also had the opportunity to learn what I call "the other side" of the medical field.  For the most part, the co-workers were great and were always willing to help in any situation.  The hardest part of my positions, I can't really say since I thrived to be the best patient care personnel I could possibly be.  If I had to pick the most enjoyable part of my job, it would be the Charge Posting.  This was a very rewarding and challenging position, and I am always up for a challenge.  As far as management, I feel Resurgens could definitely use a "re-vamp" of management personnel.  Definitely need managers that care about their long term employees and are willing to step in and assist an employee when short staffed or work load is very heavy and managerial assistance is required.  

When I started at Resurgens it was a family type environment. Everyone got along and did their fair share of work. Almost a year into my time there, management changed and it all went downhill from there. The new manager and leadership are very cliquish and if they don't like you, you will know. Managers chastise staff for providing assistance to employees they do not show favor to however will stick their necks out for employees they favor..... Did I mention favortismmmmmm!!??? I spent numerous hours at work neglecting my family to only be dumped on and told I did not utilize my time correctly, however I was placed in different clinics when I should have had time to do my clerical duties. They set you up for failure and lie on you to protect their own. Nothing was worth the stress I endured here, I left for lesser pay and could not be happier! Learn to treat people like human beings! They hire friends from the outside and place them into lead roles with little to NO experience when staff there has been in the medical field 20 plus years. 

My tenure was short lived. Training was horrible!! The worst training in my life ! No tour , nothing !! Cliquish environment. Lots of gossip from staff as well as management. As a new employee i didn’t feel welcomed , nor a part of the team. I was afraid to ask questions because the responses were met with condescending or just rude responses. Doctor difficult to work with. In training or so called training if you made a mistake they would report it to management in stead of showing you the correct way.  Management needs management training!! No teamwork   I filed a HR grievance in less than a month of my hire because of these things and more !!! Kennesaw clinic is the worst. Good news is I found a great job with better pay and I’m stress free. 

You can get the same pay or a little more, elsewhere (70-100/year depending on experience level). Clinic managers are making the same amount of money, or a little less, as some of the PTs. They’re more than happy to take advantage of their employees. Management is an absolute disaster. If you’re lucky and you get a good clinic manager, it makes day-to-day a lot easier. However, regional directors and the rehab director are useless. Therapy is the red headed stepchild of the company…. Not bringing in enough cash flow for them to care. Strongly encouraged to overwork yourself with zero incentives to do so. No advancement opportunities besides clinic manager (not even close to being worth the minimal increase in pay for the position). 

Roles are set, although expect to do more than what you sign up for. Unrealistic expectations with no incentive. New policies are implemented without review and then rescinded after outpours of backlash. Example: A new policy with PTO reduction and retention was imposed and sent out to the company months before its effective date. Basically, use it or lose it. The catch: your request is denied because the majority of the company would be on vacation at once. Once rescinded and brought up at town hall meetings, no accountability was taken other than an actual "Oops, maybe we need to look at this again" and no answers given. Unorganized politics.

Day to Day colleagues are great. Management needs work and more awareness of the culture outside of their bubble.

The doctors and employees are great!! Management uses intimidation tactics and threatens employees on a regular basis. Be prepared to lose your job if you try to seek help from upper management because they are all friends and will stick together. If you are extremely talented at your job, well liked by your coworkers, a single parent or are over the age of 40, be prepared to be harassed by the site manager. Morale is very low and unless you are friends or drinking buddies with the site manager or regional director you will be miserable. Even with an exceptional work evaluation, a 2% raise is the most you can hope for. Don't waste your time with this company!!
