I have had the privilege of working at Reunion Rehab Hospital in Plano, and I couldn't be more grateful for the enriching experience it has provided me. As an employee and leader, every day feels like a rewarding journey where I am not just an integral part of the team but a contributor to a greater purpose.

The therapy team at Reunion Jacksonville are so supportive and positive in regard to patient care and of their fellow therapists. The therapists truly work so well together to provide the most beneficial rehab experience for the patients. Unfortunately, that is where the support ends, with your fellow coworkers. The CTO/DOR makes working at Reunion almost unbearable. She facilitates an environment of anxiety and Tension. Her communication skills are severely lacking and  she does not show even the most common courtesies/etiquette when communicating with members of her team. She is not open to suggestions or communication within her team of therapists.  She is condescending and defensive. I have truly never worked for someone that demonstrates such little professionalism and  lack of desire for a positive, cohesive rehab team / environment. Unfortunately, upper management does not give consideration to concerns, when approached by the therapists. There is no support from direct management or upper management. Reunion Jacksonville could be an amazing place to work, but there are serious management issues.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
In housekeeping you're always working short staff as with most departments. Most staff works well with each other but the company only gives out low raises. There is no HR in the building and if you call the number for hr she never answers and when you send an email it's always vague with the most common answer being please refer to your supervisor.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most staff is over worked under paid but work well and get along with each other despite feeling like your work is unappreciated. All departments are always short staffed 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It depends if you're a fast worker, slow down. The more work they see you doing the more they want to add and the ppl that don't work fast and waste time are always laughing it up with the department heads but when a good worker slows down we're being lazy basically you'll be picking up their slack

What is the best part of working at the company?
Cold uncaring employees who participate in Gossip, are back stabbing and the  poor leadership. My first red flag was the onboarding, which was disorganized, and oncomplete. My best event during my employment was Putting in my 2 weeks notice, to find a better job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Going into this work environment on a daily basis was stressful and anxiety producing. 
You never knew what kind of mood staff or leadership would be in that day.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Some employees were uplifting and kind,  however this was not the norm.  There were many cliques, and lots of backstabbing. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You never Knew what to expect., while you are performing your duties.It would change midday. They would talk about flexibility, But you could not use your professional judgment to help adapt to this. It was power and control. It was just mind boggling.

I have worked at some bad places but this company is on the top of my list.  Love the patients and families.  There were some great PTs and a few other employees but many of them were nasty, lazy and a coup.  The turnover is high....no wonder!  Some of the employees had come from the Phx location and were used to getting away with doing little and no supervision.  If they didn't like you, they would do everything they could to cause trouble.  Management was the worst I have ever worked with including HR!  They did nothing about the problems and there were/are many here, and they have no respect for the employees.  Your license is on the line many times b/c of what goes on.  It is a beautiful newer building and yet it is run so poorly.  Both locations are not run well, but Peoria is probably the worst.  When they do get good employees, they are smart and don't stay.    I understand everyone can have a different experience, and this was mine.  It was such a disappointment b/c I had high hopes.   

The therapy team (PT/OT/SLP) are so dedicated, team oriented, and driven. All are patient focused and willing to give a helping hand to fellow therapists and staff whenever needed.

There is a ‘rehab tech’ on staff who does not assist therapists with any patient care and frequently verbally harasses therapists and other members of staff (in front of patients). The CTO had prior work relationship with said tech before coming to Reunion. Despite several staff members making multiple complaints to the CTO, HR, and the CEO, no changes have been made. The CTO also has poor communication skills, is often spiteful and retaliatory to therapy team, and is not open to any suggestions. There were unrealistic productivity standards which were expected, and at no point was there gratitude expressed or excessive work acknowledged (frequently scheduled for 7-8 TREATMENT hours in an '8 hr' work day)

If you are looking to give patient care with reasonable ratios, look elsewhere. They think 1:7 is reasonable staff ratios for nurses and 1:14 (usually more, honestly) for techs. They use some random electronic charting that nobody else uses in Ohio too. Be prepared to be the phlebotomist, unit clerk, and whatever else the hospital is lacking that day.

Scheduling is odd. Communication is through some app they used to schedule in that isn't used anymore.  Also you might get called off because of the census which leads to financial uncertainty.

Everyone seems to be nurse supervisors here too. So it's difficult to know who you are supposed to report to

Very punitive environment. They like you until you stop picking up overtime. They are looking to make changes there but it has been too little too late. The turnover is high. 

It's nice to see patients get better, but it's few and far between now. 

I enjoy working for this company and believe it’s a solid organization that values patient care and supports its employees. We have had many awards demonstrating the overall positive influence Reunion Peoria has had in the community and Nobis Company.  The overall culture is positive, and teamwork among staff is strong.

One area that could be improved is providing more consistent and clear communication and education from senior nursing leadership. A bit more structure and guidance would help align nursing staff and enhance overall efficiency.

That said, Senior leadership as a whole seems open to feedback and genuinely invested in improving, so I’m optimistic about continued progress. I am excited to work here and look forward to continued growth.

As mentioned already, the turn over here is high. Staff are frequently short and management blames the staff for it. In the few short months of being open, this place has managed to grow into a toxic, negative, mega-micromanaging facility. Why is an educator telling us that she can make changes that aren’t her responsibility? Why is the CEO doing  payroll - which they aren’t well educated in. Every member of administration tries to take on too many roles which hurts the staff AND their patients. Communication is basically non-existent. They love to play “pass the responsibility” - you reach out to one person and they instruct you to reach out to someone else. It’s a joke, honestly. Nice building but it’s what’s inside that makes the difference. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I am so very fortunate to be a part of the most amazing team/ staff!  They provide the very best care to are patients that I have ever seen in my career in healthcare field!  It is a wonderful place to work too!  Again I am so blessed to be with these amazing and brilliant people! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is no stress for me as a have a great team to work with!

I love this hospital!  The best I have ever seen, most amazing providers!

Very busy, seeing patients, infection prevention, education, proving great example, encouragement to others!
