My shift started at 7am and ended at 4pm Monday- Friday other than being off weekends with major paid holidays and a jeans sweatshirt sneakers dress code. There was nothing else to like about this job.This was not a corporate office job in customer service as they recruited for. There is no sop, standard operating procedure you learn through observation  trail and error. Which there is no room for error . The perception of learning is false they expect you to know it in 1 week. If you screw up the building it literally is on fire. Everything has to be done right away.There are to many chiefs and not enough Indians it's a high pressured position that changes minute by minute. Your customers are internal spoiled jerks that you have to make exception to exception to exception to rules that aren't in place nor followed. No one is held accountable for any actions except the Customer Service Representative. The atmosphere in which you work is vulgar and full of adult innuendos. You are always on the verge of losing your job. The company does business with shady sneaky unethical people that work for Maronda Homes  and Ryan Columbus Homes . They have other accounts. You get paid $28,500.00 a year to be the fall guy- you are the person that get all the mess handed to you on a platter and you have to eat it. Example: an employee who has worked for the company for 11 years had a major breakdown cause all the fault fell on the shoulders of the position of the customer service representative rather right or wrong and there is no way to protect yourself from that happening. That's your main position to be the fall guy. Outside of that role your primary responsibility in Customer Service is to schedule installers for the installation department for them to get under paid for the work they complete. If you have RiteRug flooring in your home to get the proper service contact your local BBB, Attorney General's office or Social Media sites for assistance. If you have a Maronda home make complaints about them doing business with a company like RiteRug. They have dead mice in the vending snack machines cause Riterug and their business partners are rats.

A typical day at work would start with load out to installers with a forklift. Then we would start unloading trucks bringing in materials. Checking in the materials and turning in recievers to the office to be recieved into inventory. Breaking down pallets of materials for each job then assigning it a location in racks. After that we started getting pick tickets for each job going out the next day. We pulled the orders then completed them with whatever items were necessary. While we were doing that I would check the schedule to make sure materials arrived on time for jobs. Two days out of the week we unloaded and loaded transfer trucks with a list of materials going to other store locations. When the warehouse manager was absent I was the manager for that day making sure operations went correctly.
I learned how to use inventory systems and learned the overall concept of how a warehouse is operated. Management was good but a lot of fingers were pointed with no accountability occasionaly.Overall they were very helpful and friendly and the problems always got worked out. My co-workers were fun and friendly. We all were treated like family and this created a fun work environment. The hardest part of the job was the physical labor and very long hours. Heavy lifting for long periods of time was required but never an issue.
The most enjoyable part of the job was having a relaxed environment aside from the physical labor. Everyone got along great and helped each other out.

Typical day includes checking service men in for the day, answering phones, filing, scheduling, copying, sending and answering emails, ordering materials needed for service calls, checking on previous complaint issues to see if they are being resolved and working along side with all other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
I have learned a substantial amount of information about flooring needs, installation, and possible problems.
I do not care for the management style at this company. Any information, personal or otherwise, is not confidential. My direct supervisor micro-manages and has to be involved in every little aspect of my job. Then complains about not having enough time to complete their own workload.
The turn around rate in my department is so high, it is hard to establish any type of relationship with them. In other departments, I find co-workers to be extremely helpful and knowledgable.
The hardest part of this job is there are no standard operating procedures. It makes it difficult sometimes to know what the best route is to ensure customer satisfaction.
The most enjoyable part of my job is the relaxed atmosphere. The dress code is casual and I am able to listen to music while I work.

Commission based, you get a draw against your commissions, but if you have a slow few weeks/month you go negative against future commissions. You work your regular 45-60 hours in store and are expected to meassure customer homes to build out the quote for material and labor, and also create a blueprint for each one for the installers; which you are expected to do the measurements on your off hours, not when your scheduled to cover the store floor. If your a strong closer and dont discount the sale you can make good commission, but you work for it and have to be comfortable doing measurements, drawing to scale and doing so in customers homes (clean and disgusting ones) and doing so over and around whatever is in their homes etc and working A LOT of hours. You drive all over doing measurements for job estimates and quotes and are not reimbursed anything for gas or wear on your personal vehicle. A lot of the sales people are really cut throat. 

I did a great job with Rite rug and was let go because my manager had that power and I would no longer do her unrelated job requests. Like answer the phones while on my lunch or go get her lunch. There is no advancement in AP. When I had a problem with a co-worker I followed procedures by letting manager know several times with nothing done. Went to HR and nothing could be done. Next day I was wrote up for no reason. I tried to transfer to another dept. but manager would not let me go. Managers are not held to standards so problems don't get solved. No one holds the managers accountable. If they don't like you or you question their work ethics/skills they fire you.
Rite rug has you work 10 hours a year for very little if not any pay. They put you on salary pay even though you're considered an hourly employee to keep from having to pay you the overtime pay.
People are nice to your face and they do pay well.

I worked for the best division in this company and still feel that almost all of the employees are over worked and underpaid. It's depressing to see how much the people at the top make when they barely pay their employees a livable wage. The flooring industry may not require a college degree, but there is a lot of specific information that needs to be learned. It's not a job you could pull anyone off the street to do, and because of that the people that do well in their administrative positions deserve to be paid more than a measly $25,000-$40,000 a year while the 5 or 6 company presidents have vacation homes and make hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars a year. The pay they give their subcontractors is also pathetic, it's one step up from slave labor and they offer them almost no protection, charging them back at the first suggestion that they may have made a mistake. It should be illegal.

There is a tremendous lack of priorities at this company. Proper training is an afterthought and rarely given. Every individual that worked in the department I was in, voiced their frustrations with the amount of work dumped on them with very little to no training on the programs and/or company procedures required to be able to do the job correctly and efficiently. I have worked for several different companies in many fields of construction. I am also a very quick learner and can almost always catch on to new ideas or ways of doing things, fairly quickly. This place is the first company I have ever worked for where that was not even remotely possible for me. It may be just me, though I doubt it, but this place has the fastest turn around in their office personnel I have ever seen in any company. If you just need a paycheck for a few weeks and can handle unusually high amounts of stress then this is the place for you.

Inventory never be incorrect warehouse never being able to find your product and you have to reschedule homeowner appointments repeatedly

Toxic no morale boosters, no teamwork, no employee appreciation events, no bonuses.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful can’t find material that is supposed to be on site but you can’t go in the warehouse to look for it and nobody in the warehouse knows what they’re doing and nobody can find it and you have to let down your customer again

Has the feel of a family owned company, BUT also comes with a very cliquey High School like vibe in the office. There seems to be no form of accountability, and no one seems to take personal responsibility for their actions. There seems to be a serious lack of a training program for new employees other than sitting with a current employee and learning for a day or two. Also in my opinion, there is zero job security, and you can start you shift and on the same day be told that your department and position has been eliminated due to restructuring/streamlining without any prior notice. Ultimately in the office they don't give you the tools, training and support that you need to be able to be successful at your job and get promoted. Overall I would not recommend this company at least at the corporate office level.

Management is awful. Their corporate office is just equally awful. Awful attitudes & people. Tip to the management would be to weed out the bad seed of the office and listen and care about your employees. Make a standard structure to follow. Provide training. Get the rude, disrespectful, uneducated, and unprofessional employees out. This company only looks out for themselves and themselves only. They have awful benefits as well. You can very much be fired for unlawful reasons but on paperwork for legal reasons it stated you were fired for a different reason. For example you can be fired for being pregnant and being close to going on maternity leave and they will fire you for a different reason. They will then in return hire someone immediately for your job and interview people secretly even while you still work there.
