Pros: 
Training and certification offered can be used on your resume when looking for a better job, as well as their habit of cross training employees to do someone else's work in another area, instead of hiring someone already qualified. Cheap...But helpful when you leave!

Cons:
The highest turn-over I have ever seen!!! I believe their motto is, you can always be replaced! Because I have seen some of the most knowledgeable, talented people leave to better paying jobs rather than river edge paying them for their worth! And the show goes on.  They never replace someone who leaves in a timely manner, or at all.  They would rather take the best worker in another position and cross train them in the vacant slot however, their job title wont change which in turn means their pay wont change.  For instance, if you are hired as an hst making 17,100.00/Yr and the admissions clerk, who makes 18549/yr entry level, happens to  leave, they will approach you to ask if you would like to be the clerk.  You say yes and its considered a promotion however,its not.  They justify not giving you clerk pay by saying youre an hst with "clerk duties! So youre pay wont increase, and should they be short staffed with hst's, they can pull you from our new position and have you work as an hst, because after all, you cant contest it.  Hr has your job title in your employee file as an hst, and they have no idea what job youre actually doing.  Job titles here are assigned just for pay purposes.  Your actual duties are whatever they ask you to "help" with,because when you do it good, you will find that its now expected and it has gone from "help" to a job duty!  The good thing is, once you find something better, you have that experience, not limited to, your job title!  
I suggest that be all you use them for.  Because you may advance, but only at your facility, and not in hr...Where the money comes from.  They never change your job title in your employee file.  Not even if you go from unlicensed to licensed....They will only pay you for that, if you reapply for a licensed position....Crazy! If you must have a job, its easy work, good experience, but not a career.  And if youre a recovering addict, you have a 100 percent chance of being hired, because all of management at all the facilities are recovering addicts!  Crazy! This place is awful

I worked as a Direct Support Professional. Most Staff were unreliable and always calling out at last minute. Lower functioning Individuals being supported were neglected and not treated nearly as well as high functioning ones. Soiled diapers and linens were common problems. Chain of command is in place but not followed. Staff think the Leads are a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously as supervisors, which isn't helped by the case managers and upper staff undermining them. Pay is decent if you have education and experience, but turn over rate is extremely high. They overwork the good workers and do not punish the ones who are lazy or sleep the whole shift. CEO doesn't pay DD department much attention and could care less as long as she's getting a paycheck. You don't get raises and there is no possibility for advancements. The majority of staff do not care about the people they support they're only working for a pay check and it is evident. I would not put any of my friends/family under the care of any River Edge department. Also, your phone will ring at all hours of the night. They have no respect for family time.

Understanding the clients is the most rewarding part of this job. However, Management is the worst I have ever worked under in my life. Favorites and cliques are at the top of everything. Character and morals are of the least importance. If the House Lead or Case manager doesn’t like you then you are always gonna be the “problem”. DO NOT report issues because they will find a way to cover things up and make you the issue. They would rather keep dishonest people and allow people to falsely document paperwork while creating situations to bring disciplinary actions against the person affected by the false documentation. Management is not held to any type of standard and house leads will be clocked in and and be out doing personal things or at home or out to eat and unavailable to staff when needed. Also you must call several times to get a lead or manager after 5. If you are not part of the clique or doing what is asked of you (right or wrong) then you are automatically a target/problem and it does no good to go up the chain of command because nothing will get done. They will always side with the lead and case manager with no regard to what the truth is. 

Never enough staff and Almost never have security with very high acuity pts. 95 percent employees are thru agency, no choice, and there is NO shift dif, wkend dif, holiday pay, or even decent pay compared to same type jobs in area. Staff always short, can't find people to work for the low pay. No pay raises. Period.  On site management and main office management just says can't do anything about pay. For years. Might be two techs to whole unit with a lot of pts ready to hurt you. Just fill the beds. People just go up the road for better pay and safer work places. Sad. The few that care about behavioral health care get burned out and leave. Even a little financial incentive for nights, wkends, and holidays would help. NOT even time & half on holiday because they have contracts where you're agency and the employer and agency have some type of arrangement with straight, low rate pay at all times. Could be so much better. Building group homes everywhere, but no funding for staff in harm's way. CSU is old, roaches, mold, surprised it hasn't been shut down. People afraid to speak up and the ones that have just give up. CEO out of touch with reality of situation.

I truly appreciate the transparency at this company. From the very beginning of the hiring process, expectations were clearly communicated, including job responsibilities, scheduling, pay structure, and opportunities for advancement. There were no surprises, and management took the time to answer questions honestly and thoroughly. During onboarding, policies and performance standards were explained in a straightforward way, which made it easy to understand what success looks like in this role.

I also value how leadership keeps employees informed about company updates and changes. Regular communication helps build trust and makes employees feel respected and included. When challenges arise, they are addressed openly rather than avoided. This level of transparency creates a positive work environment where everyone knows their role and feels confident in the direction of the company. Overall, clear communication and honesty make this a workplace I would recommend to others.

The big problem, by far, is the low pay. They really do not compensate well at all. Thats probably the reason for the high turnover. The benefits aren't anything to rave about either. The insurance is BCBS but it's not the greatest plan. Dental was too expensive, especially considering the already tiny paychecks. You earn paid time off. No actual sick days. You get 8 holidays, but the pay comes off your PTO balance so its not a true paid holiday. I should be making at least 5k more considering what I do and how well I do it. Unfortunately the job market is pretty bad and I am just making do.

Coworkers are very friendly and helpful.

The CEO and CFO are a little out of touch with the reality of what their people do and what they are truly worth. They would likely actually save money if they compensated appropriately and retained good employees, rather than constantly needing to hire and train new ones.

This agency is very difficult to work for, at least in Fulton County. Their home office is in Macon, and it seems as though the employees out there get support and fair treatment. However, out in Fulton we are often left out and ignored. The pay is very low and the program poorly funded. Management is very inconsistent and open positions are often filled by less qualified people. Our supervisor would often fall asleep during meetings that he was not running. We were constantly made to feel that everything we had learned from previous management was wrong and that was somehow our fault. Lastly my departure was made extremely challenging, including being forced to cancel previously scheduled time off and confusion as to how to turn in my equipment.

Never enough help. Micromanaged. The day center managers create a hostile work evoriment. They are allowed to treat you like trash and HR  take sides. The trainings are copied and the CEO and center coordinator is old and rude, she needs to re-retire. They show no regards for family life. Only numbers and how many 1:1 clients they can get to get more money from the state. Benchmark needs to pull all funding and a total overhaul needs to be done. The CEO only is there part-time, get a free car to drive, and if your not in the inner circle you can kiss you position goodbye. Stressful. Too many chiefs not enough Indians.  All they want are warm bodies to fill positions. I wouldn't send my pet dog there for services. And the HE chief manager is rude,bypass and very disrespective. Run run as fast as you can, unless you want drama. What's a working lunch break?

A typical day at work can be very hectic because working with individuals with mental behaviors can be very difficult. So there is a lot of re-directing individuals throughout the shift. What I have learned is that patience and understanding is required and most definitely communication. Briefing and debriefing the next shift that comes in is very vital to their work shift. The hardest part of my is making sure that documentation is done correctly and administrating medication is done correctly so that each individual get the correct dosage of medication that they need. Also, monitoring the individuals physical appearance so observe for changes that may be present that could cause the individual to be put in harms way. The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing each individual progress and live healthy lives on a daily basis.

Did not value employees.Site Coordination in DD  day service is awful.Rude, micromanaged,likes to sneak up on staff She comes in one door leave out the other.Parks her car behind vans to try and catch someone doing something.High turn over in DD daycenter because of her.HR knows and her supervisor knows how she is but turns their head.It is too much traveling between sites because of the staff shortage.Pay sucks as well.Some got a raise a couple months ago because they threaten to walk out in residential.Day services have to wait until to get their raise.I hope it will be worth the wait.But I doubt it.RE is not a medical facility nor a nursing home.Too many individuals that are coming in with medical issues.This is a mental health facility, not a medical or nursing home.
