I applied for this job as a 1 on 1 class aide because helping students is my passion. Things went perfectly fine for the first few months of the school year. I was always on time, and I was gaining great progress with my client. I became a functioning part of the classroom and opened up opportunities for my client to participate, while also advocating for his well being in the form of getting him the help he needed from school staff.
Then comes October. I called off four days. One because I was sick, one because I had a delay getting back home that was out of my control, and two because my car’s transmission went out. Keep in mind these were not back to back. It was spread out. They didn’t tell me until after the fact that I would have been reimbursed for an uber so it sucked that I missed out on two days of work because of it. Then the day I came back, everything is fine at the school site. No problems whatsoever. After my entire shift, I get home and receive a call from RoHealth telling me that the school district didn’t want me anymore because I was unfriendly (lie), dressed inappropriate (another lie), and my attendance was bad (a really big lie). They didn’t even fight for me. The crazy part is, they complained that I wasn’t nice to staff, but I spoke when spoken to in a professional manner. It is not my job to be friends with anyone. That is not in the description. I bet you if I walked into my old site classroom the kids would be overjoyed to see me and prove that I wasn’t unfriendly. Sorry that I have autism myself and don’t show my facial expressions. The vice principal is the one who requested my removal. I had NO interactions with her outside of saying good morning when she initiated. Did RoHealth care? No. I was told,”We are at the mercy of the district”. 
Then comes the sub work. They really only call you for Thursdays and Fridays. Abysmal hours that I cannot live on. And the one time they ask me if I want to have another long term assignment, they don’t put me on it because I was running errands and couldn’t start immediately. THEY CALLED ME AT 10 AM! What school starts that late?? If I am not told in the morning, it is unfair to spring it on me last minute and expect me to drop everything. That was my final straw. I just stopped answering calls at that point and found a new job because I couldn’t pay rent on sub work.
If you are looking for a place to start and really want to stay at a school district, get ready to kiss butt. Schools will hate you if you don’t. Also don’t expect RoHealth to protect you. I’m distraught because I really liked this company. I was so excited. :(

I worked with Ro Health for quite some time. I had multiple assignments throughout the Bay Area. When I first was hired on I was excited for the pay, but little did I know that this job has no support. They claim to follow ABA practices, but the BCBA's that are hired do nothing to help or barely come to the sites. There's no CPI training offered which is scary because the district can be sued by parents if someone doesn't follow the safety training protocol. It's also not safe for staff, students, and the individual engaging in behaviors to not have someone know what to do in a crisis. I personally knew CPI myself from a previous company, but many subs and other Ro Health staff I knew were not provided CPI training. There was also poor communication with last minute assignments which was highly frustrating. They also do not disclose any information that could be helpful in working cases. For example if a client has behaviors such as hair pulling or scratching, it would be good to know to prepare for that case. Ro Health advertises the job as an RBT job and most employees are not RBTs which is against the BACB standards. Ro Health does not provide any trainings to become an RBT. I really think they just advertise themselves this way to get contracts with districts, which is disheartening. It's not okay to advertise staff to be something they are not which can expose them to cases with behaviors that they are most likely not trained for. I took this job for the pay, but looking at my experience it's not worth it. If you are looking to dip your feet into ABA and actually learn something-I would not recommend this place.

I worked for Ro Health as a 1:1 school nurse from August 2018-April 2019. I stuck with Ro Health all those months because I enjoyed the environment I was placed in. The pay wasn’t good and the communication was not great either. The child I was a nurse for had a difficult time going to school. There was plenty of times when the mother called last minute (when I already arrived) and told me he wasn’t coming. I was always told that Ro Health will pay at least 2 hours so for all these months, I would put 2 hours on my timesheet. In April, I was replaced by a district nurse and I found out I was being replaced on my last day. No warning whatsoever. The district had already contacted Ro Health, but Ro Health dropped the ball and did not inform me. I didn’t hear from Ro Health until the following Monday with the news! I had to tell them that the Friday prior was my last day! How unprofessional is that?! I told them that the child ended up leaving early on that Friday as well 11am (shift started at 9am). The Ro Health representative says to me “well if they leave early or call out when you’re already there you at least get paid for 4 hours, so make sure you write in 4 hours for Friday!” Excuse me?! All these months I’ve only put down 2 hours! All she said to me was “oh no, that’s a bummer!” Total unprofessionalism. I feel like I’ve been robbed for months.

My first two weeks with the company involved being ghosted, and unable to reach my company liaison. My second two weeks with the company involved being sent to the wrong placement and then moved twice. My fifth week with the company involved being told I will be moved again, and then hearing nothing. Conversations with other Ro Health Employees are few and far between but I have heard similar experiences with others.
The office staff are friendly when you call, but are ineffective. Calling my liaison often redirected to the main office where the only help they can offer is leaving a message that often does not get answered until days later. Emails remain unanswered indefinitely, and I never learned the name or contact information for my direct supervisor, or the HR department.
Most of my assignments did not involve contact with Ro Health, however, scheduling did not allow for time to communicate with my team at my assignment outside of student contact hours. I was informed there would be frequent check-ins within the first two weeks, and received no communication from Ro Health except once to inform me when an apparent mistake was made on their part. Furthermore, I had little chance to complain about poor placement choices due to the inability to contact the appropriate staff. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
They respond quickly as to the problems that come up.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working with the company is that the training is inadequate. There is online training but that doesn’t cover day to day issues that come up in the school . There is communication between the students that can be complicated especially in a classroom setting. The teachers often are unprepared to work with the paras as well and don’t communicate as effectively as they should. The school district doesn’t let Rohealth employees Have access to their  computers, which is challenging because the students have their lesson plans on the computer.   The other obstacle is that the kids  throw balls and horse play in the classroom and in the halls . I have been Hit by balls and knocked over a couple of times which isn’t a pleasant experience.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I didn’t work at the company itself but at the school setting.  I would say it’s not a safe place to work if you are a senior citizen.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I go to the home room classroom and assist my client who generally plays computer games. My other classes vary according to the day of the week. I walk around the classroom and observe the students who need assistance.

A company that has many areas to improve on in terms of communication, scheduling, shadowing/orientation. The communication could have been better, having a phone conversation then following up with written email for pertinent information (i.e. last minute scheduling, updates, transitions). Schedules on the workforce portal should be updated and reflect on when you're working as soon as possible. Have shadowing/training be longer for nurses taking on a case. It is definitely a learning curve when you have one day and then you are figuring out things on your own. Last minute requests and transitions are sometimes frustrating.
I worked at Ro Health full-time but felt no growth, learning, or advancement. I did not feel that there was much support, although they always say you can call the clinical supervisor. 
I only met the employer and clinical supervisor at the office once for training/on-boarding, management seems to be a bit disorganized and does not seem to know what goes on with the schools and students. 
The pay is not competitive and lower than most RN jobs. Hours are not always guaranteed for the week.
I appreciate that they were flexible with scheduling when time was requested off and that the hours were during school. They also try to have an open conversation as well so that any concerns you may have can be brought up.

Management
The staff consultant at Ro Health was really nice. 
She understands why I was out of nursing for a while and shows a lot of respect.
The hiring process was a little complicated in my case because of references, but if you can provide two references, you could start working within a month. 
Once I was hired, they didn't do micro-management. It is sometimes annoying when I have questions.

workplace culture/the hardest part of the job
Right now, I am assigned several medically fragile students. Maybe, I am so lucky that the district nurse is in the same office twice a week.  Ro Health provides you Clinical Supervisor who is supposed to offer some advice, instructions, or help when you need it, but mine isn't helpful.   So, it might cause some scary experiences for new grads. I think Ro Health can work on making it better.  If you are not comfortable with your assignment, you can talk about it to your staff consultant. They seem happy to help you.

The best part of the job
If you are the mother of a school-aged child, the schedule works well in your life.  I start work at 8 am and am done by 14:05. I can go home and wait for my child to come home. Around my area, I could find better-paid RN positions with more benefits, but none of the jobs can offer these perfect working hours and days. 


I have worked for RO Health for over a year now,  never had one problem,  mix up, miss communication,  mis-schedule EVER! This company will fight for anything you ask for and working for this company is easy going.  The other staff I've met from RO Health are just as exceptional as I am.  Staffing crew communicate impeccably, they listen,  have your back & best interest in mind.  They send personalized Christmas, birthday and anniversary cards annually. Turning in your time card or looking at your paycheck on the company Portal is a peice of cake and all staff working here say the same thing... we all love it.  The Staffing crew will work around ANY schedule you have! This is a huge company with many offerings and different assignment styles to fit what you like.  You chose days,  hours and places you work,  period! When you go to a new place,  they send you all the need to know info, so your not walking in blind! They even send reminder texts every Friday evening for those who have weekend shifts with the times, hours and locations of your shift(s)!! Pay is on the higher end for this type of work,  benefits available, mileage paid if you are traveling far!!! IF YOU ARE RELIABLE AND AN EXTRA MILE EMPLOYEE,  PLEASE APPLY, all others,  please don't ruin the Elite company reputation this company has!!

I wouldn’t recommend this company based on my experience. During the hiring process, I was promised consistent Monday through Friday work, but that was far from the reality. Assignments were extremely inconsistent and unreliable — some days you’d get work, other days you wouldn’t hear anything at all. It became impossible to depend on this job for stable income.
Another major issue was how assignments were given out. If you missed a phone call by even a few seconds, the assignment was immediately handed to someone else. It felt like you had to stay glued to your phone 24/7 just for a chance to work, which created unnecessary stress and pressure.
What made the experience worse was the way concerns were handled. After I brought up an issue regarding the job and communication, I noticed a clear change in how I was treated. Calls for assignments suddenly became less frequent, to the point where it felt retaliatory. Instead of addressing employee concerns professionally, it seemed like speaking up only hurt my opportunities for work.
Overall, the pay and scheduling felt unstable, communication was poor, and there was no sense of job security. There are definitely better companies out there that value their employees and provide more consistent, fair treatment.

As a staffing consultant you are extremely overworked and underpaid. You have a lot of pressure on you constantly to get new starts while you are juggling a mountain of different tasks and a HEAVY level of responsibility despite this being an entry level position. Your hard work does not necessarily translate to getting a new start. The pay is extremely low for the level of responsibility that you take on for the role (recruiting, onboarding/credentialing, being on call for after hours support, scheduling, client management payroll, etc). Even if you  are doing a back breaking amount of work, if you don’t have a start to show for it, they will let you go. Upper management does not care about any factors that are out of your control when it comes to natural things that happen when recruiting providers (them accepting other offers/falling off). Fair warning- The CEO of this company  essentially said to a group of staffing consultants “If Ro Health isn’t the sole thing you aspire to in life and don’t want to sacrifice a huge portion of your life for it, it’s not the job for you”.
