Roze Room Hospice

typical day starts at 0800-  diving from point A-B in  Los Angeles traffic could take hours depending on the flow of traffic sometimes not even able to take a lunch break.  Every nurse in this companay has to be on call 2-3 times per month.  A typical on call day. you will be expected to work for 8 hours during  the day , a typical on call start on call at 6pm and continues until 8 am, and trust me you work all night until your body is numb and is expected to work for 8 hours the next day, unless you take it upon yourself to call off.  This is a very unfair and unsafe practice since this job entails a lot of driving.  Family members could be very mean, and give wrong information to your boss , even if you to the company and inform them about a situation in a patient's home  they call the job, they act like they are listening to your point, but they are not.  They will hang their nurses out to dry, because for them it's only about financial gain.

I learned that you are never indispensable on a job. And having an accent and talking over a speaker phone to patient and co-worker even if you are speaking with your normal tone of voice will be misconstrued as raising your voice or having an attitude.  I learn never to lay my guards down when it come to people.

Management do not care about workers and their safety, they really don't even care about the patient , they only care about their finance.

There are co-workers who will lie just to climb the ladder.  Nothing is wrong with climbing the ladder, but it wrong to lie on others to find favor.

Honestly I was born to be a nurse, I love people and always will, I love taking care of people and give my 100% , I have always gotten great reviews in home health setting, but demographics has a lot to do with you are working home health.

I go into work and have the same routine which I do not hate. I start with revising some data entry with new patient admits, then submit notice of elections to Medicare. Work on AR reports and submit claims and appeals when needed. Lastly, on a monthly basis balance or reports and submit claims. I would say I have learned and still continue to learn a lot more than what I was taught in school all thanks to my manager. I can say that if my manager were to leave the work place I would have to leave as well; she keeps me sane. So far the only thing I find hard about my job is having to billing the patients families after they pass away when they are told before being admitted that our services were going to be paid at 100% by the insurance company. I feel that we as a company are lying to them and I do not like billing the family. The most enjoyable part is everything I do there as a biller.

Not only are the owner and her leadership very passionate and knowledgeable about what they do every day, they carry that compassion and knowledge to the clinical and administrative staff and it really empowered me to know I contribute to making such a difference for each patient. What is the best part of working at the company?
The company is very flexible and understanding. You get to make your own schedule. If they ask you to do something extra you can always say no if you want. Office staff is supportive 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Culver Coty office is constantly having staffing issues in and out of the office. Having to work extra every other weekend. The charting is a lot. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s like being in a football team and the ball keeps getting tossed to you, then you have to run with it 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up, have coffee, look at the email and teams threads. See what’s happening for the day. Deciding if I’m going to go early or late. Then, calling some of the patients and scheduling what time to visit. Then go out and do all the visits. Come back home. Chart, eat dinner. Wake up early the next day and finish charting and start all over.

Hospice is not for everyone. This job is for those who are compassionate in giving not only their patients but their families a way of accepting end of life care. Management is amazing in always helping you understand stages of end of life care. This is a specialty profession. One thing I can say is that everyone who works for Roze Room is extremely nice, caring, and compassionate. They have training modules and a clinical educator along with your team to help you when you have questions. I love working hospice and have gain a new respect for this specialty because we have all dealt with traumatic death situations and it’s nice to be able to help guide those families to have the best end of life care for their loved ones. It takes a strong person and a strong will to be part of this specialty and I wouldn’t change it for the world. 

I’ve been with Roze Room for almost eleven years now and I love it like I just got hired yesterday.  I found the company to be dead serious and absolutely committed to providing quality hospice care to terminal patients and their families.  Roze Room is also like family.  When I made an unconditional commitment to the Roze Room culture and vision… the company also made an unconditional commitment to me and my well being… that has weathered the storm of challenges and shortcomings that come… with family as well as the exacting rigors of hospice service.

As a Healthcare Marketer with Prime Hospice Care, I interact with discharge planners, case managers, patients, doctors, hospitals, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities and families at designated facilities.  Using knowledge of eligibility criteria, regulations and experience, I help to identify potential patients.  As the Healthcare Marketer, I will facilitate communication and develop relationships with referral sources, physicians and other healthcare professionals to increase referrals.   I have a history of building solid client relationships and maintaining excellent customer service as well as being responsible for the development of referrals and facilitate educational presentations.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Excellent multidisciplinary staff available go provide optimal patient care.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company provided enough staff with varying fields of expertise which kept the stress level down.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Multicultural, pleasant environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I was a remote telehealth hospice nurse.  Contact with other staff was via phone and they would always do their best to provide me with what information or service that was needed in a friendly manner.

Working with Roze Room for several years, I found the teams ,both in Leadership  and staff, extremely  supportive of each other. Office leaders were there to help mentor staff as each member strived to be the best they could be.
Each day provided opportunities for new learning. Roze Room’s values  are committed to providing patients and families  with quality and supportive care as they travel this new and unknown road together.
I found Roze Room teams consistently striving to be the best they could be and supportive of  the growth for each member every day.

This company does not appreciate their nursing staff there are no bonuses or room for advancement. This company works their nurses very hard but does not compensate them well. Roze Room takes their nurses for granted and don’t treat them as the heart of the company.  The nurses are the ones out in the field building relationships with the patients without nurses the company would not exist yet this company would rather pay their office staff more money and upper management. They don’t have hazardous pay but have Covid-19 patients they expect their nurses to risk their lives but won’t pay them.
