Rumis is a fast paced money making machine, however it has it's drawbacks, your job is never secure or promised and you can be fired at any moment in time. Management is poorly executed and employee turnaround is very high. I have been working for this company since they opened up 10 years ago. I can truly say that I have walked away with nothing. However my efforts and resilience helped the restaurant be etablished into the success that it is today. I was personally responsible for creating the catering aspect of the restaurant and today were ranked as top catering service provider in Atlanta. Drama is everywhere and so is stress....you will undoubtebly become depressed working for the owner after some period of time. I have never been awarded a bonus for all my contributions to the success and expansions of the business. The owner uses people for his own gain. I speak the truth and Im very well known.

A typical day at Rumi's includes setting up the bar or the floor, depending on if I would be serving or bartending, and getting ready for the busy lunch or dinner ahead. I learned time management, how to keep a cool head in a hectic environment, how to master the Micros system, and I also learned how to make specialty cocktails. Management has improved lately, and there is definitely more support around the restaurant. The co-workers are like family to me, and all are so sweet and helpful, outside and within the restaurant. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the large rush of guests all at once, and many guests do not speak English as their first language, so making sure the guest gets what they want is a little tough as well. The most enjoyable part of the job is how comfortable the environment is and how I can succeed in other aspects of my life due to this job.

I worked in both Georgia locations, Dunwoody and Alpharetta. When I moved to a different location, I thought the managers there would be better, but no, just as bad.
They can easily yell at you, they are unreasonable, have no respect to their employees, and love to abuse their power. 
After leaving this employer, I connected with someone who managed several restaurants at Avalon and he was pretty surprised I lasted over a year with Rumis given how they treat people. Employee turnover is high, almost everyone left too since I left the place. This company has a bad reputation. Just stay away.

I could tell you so much about the little time I had spent at Rumi’s Kitchen. For starters, the managers were not that helpful, as they were on their phone quite a bit and not supporting the staff. This company also gives no remorse for you or your mental health. If you give them the chance they will take advantage of you and run you into the ground i.e. they treat you like cattle. There is a clear bias between owners towards there employees including managers. I can’t stress this enough… don’t work here, the money is good, but it’s not worth your sanity. 

Absolutely the worst place to work.  They do not belive in breaks - EVER.  They will work you 10 hours and give you a 15 minute break BEFORE the shift starts.  They are NOT flexible with days off or time off.  SA's get paid $2.13 an hour plus tips.  At first when they were short staffed I would make $17-$18 an hour.  I would work like a dog but the money was there.  Then they hired more, you still worked like a dog for $11 an hour.  No thanks.  Not for all of the yelling and rude managers.  Stay away.  You can work elsewhere.

At the beginning of me working I told them I was not able to work because of issues with school. Additionally I asked off 1 day for an event I couldn't get refunded way in advance. I was told that I could get the day off if they hired someone in time, and that my hours would be moved down when I started school. However both times came and I spent my holiday being treated disrespectfully by customers because of them being overbooked and not helping the hostesses. I would not reccomend this job if you are a student looking to have a healthy life/work balance.

Money isn't bad. Clientele is decent. Regulars are terrible!! Rude and cheap! Tip out %/is high. Over 20% tip out. Mangers spend more time talking to regulars instead of helping.  They have the highest turnover I've ever seen. Fires good employees and keeps the inexperienced ones. Over all don't plan on keeping your sanity if you plan on  working here. Small service stations and horribly layed out interior. The front door and the bar and the host stand create a Bermuda triangle of chaotic mess of guest and servers and host and Togo its a mess

Consistent business. There was definitely no shortage in business

The guest. They can be very disrespectful, demanding and demeaning

Busy, exhausting, stressful, but lucrative

A typical day at work would be fun and inviting. Very friendly family owned restaurant. The hardest part of working at Rumis Kitchen would be that I wasn't able to get many days off. Especially with my position, I had to always be in the restaurant training new staff. Management wasn't fair with giving people the opportunities to step up in your position. Learned able a new culture, Persian.   Overall the food was amazing and the owner was kind, but management within was poor.

Management is horrible! 1 manager slept with the owner that’s how she became a manager. There’s a lot of favoritism from Management to servers which will affect your sections and your pay. If you do make the mistake of working here be prepared to be disrespected. Keep a paper trail (screenshot) of EVERYTHING you may need it some day! You’ll make decent money here but at the expense of your mental and emotional health.Tip out is astronomical. Management is not your friend and will fire you just because they don’t like you.
