I worked at SDS for a year. They pay pretty well, but that is where it ends. This is honestly the worst company I have ever worked for. You're constantly being disrespected, belittled and used by a company that truly does not care about its employees in the slightest. Management is a complete joke everywhere you look. Whether it be in the office or in the way too many pharmacies that they contract out and can barely keep up with. The owner being one of the biggest culprits of this. He will call you and scream at you relentlessly treating you like a child, is this the person you want signing your checks? You will be blamed for things that aren't in your control practically everyday. You never get a consistent schedule, you can barely ever get days you request off without it being a huge hassle. They are open 24/7 so you will probably be "asked" to work a different shift at times than your normal one. And by asked I mean forced. You will work all holidays. All of the management gets them off, but dispatchers have to work and they are always the worst. Holidays are never staffed properly and the workload is ridiculous. You'll most likely be screamed at by someone in a management position. They have no idea how to act professionally when speaking to you in any manner. Whether it be getting passive aggressive emails threatening your employment or being yelled at over the phone and treated like garbage. You will be salary so there is no overtime pay and I can guarantee you, you will work more than 40 hours. You can't be sick and call out without being harassed for it after and then being forced to work an extra day because someone had to cover your shift because they can't hire enough people to properly staff the office. There will never be a proper amount of staff because they 1. refuse to hire more people than the bare minimum because they're cheap and 2. Can barely keep the employees that they have. In the year that I worked there I saw 14 people come and go. And that is just in the office that I worked in, not to mention the countless drivers and managers in the many pharmacy locations. And I honestly might be missing a couple. They are trying to rapidly grow their business but aren't keeping up with the infrastructure of their main dispatch office. Putting a ridiculous amount of work and stress onto the dispatchers. You will be forced to work 6 day weeks and practically every weekend, again with zero overtime. They'll promise you it'll only be for a little while until they get the staffing up or some other excuse. It will never happen. They'll pile work onto you that shouldn't have been because someone in another department was either lazy or they didn't have someone else to do it, so it's gets dumped on the dispatchers. This is on top of the thousand other things you already have to take care of in your own job.There is, and I can not stress this enough practically ZERO communication throughout this company. Procedures and orders change pretty much everyday and most of the time you won't know until the very last minute if at all. They'll add pharmacies on to the dispatchers already very very busy log of things that they already have to keep without any notice at all. And when a delivery doesn't get done in time, or something happens with it because this was not communicated properly it falls back onto the dispatchers. They promise things will change and they're adding new policies in place but it's all just a front. Nothing ever really gets done and they don't care. All they care about is making money, no regard for any of the employees. It's sad because this could be a good job if they changed their ways. But there is such deep rooted issues in the company that I don't believe anything will change and in the end it will just hurt them. I mean, when you see that many people come and go in one year I would think you would look at yourself and try and brainstorm what the issues could be? But nope, they stay ignorant to their own ways. I'm not even going to get into the gossiping that happens in the office and all of that nonsense. Just know everything you say will get back to someone one way or another.  No one who works for this company will enjoy their job I can say that with almost certainty. You can find a better job where you will be treated with respect and not hate every second of your work life.

I asked for and was given a full-time schedule driving long distances rather than short routes with lots of stops.  No problem there at all, but the frustrations of working with late pharmacy releases, delivery delays at destinations, demeaning dispatch calls asking if we're going to be on time for pickups, and extra duties without extra pay can make me.... all of us really, dread our days sometimes.   

There are three parties:  The pharmacy (which rules the show),  SDS (including dispatchers), and we independent drivers.  You'll find that SDS is way more interested in pleasing the pharmacy than pleasing you.   We're 1099 (i.e. not employees) and you need to become a LLC, but the mileage deduction provides a major tax break given our long routes.  Don't assume that your personal insurance will work, and no, SDS doesn't provide actual auto insurance (I asked and got that answer in writing from Oforce... you may hear differently from drivers and even management, but don't depend on it).  Finally, if you're prone to blaming and finding fault with everything that doesn't go your way, definitely pass on this job.  I've never been that way in my working life, but after a year here I'm struggling with that more and more.  I should also point out that paychecks are delayed, and also in the beginning you may have less driving than you'd like.  I nearly left in about week 3 because of that, but soon after that my income over doubled, and life got better right away. 

Really, don't expect good communications here.  You've got to ask questions or figure things out for yourself.  For max dollars, let the manager know you'd like more stats and routes, then be patient.  There's more than enough work, if you can keep your attitude right - and when they learn that you're reliable and not a problem person. 

By far the worst company I have ever worked for! To start off they seriously lie about how much you will be working! They say you will have to do very little driving, which is also a lie! You are salaried, so you will not see any overtime pay at all, and you WILL work every bit of 16hr days or more 7 days a week! They expect you to oversee 4 pharmacies spread throughout PA, manage all drivers, and YOU are responsible to cover any open routes by yourself, even if there are 2 or 3 open routes they will make you cover them no matter how many hours it takes, and they will not give you any help at all with covering the routes. They are always short staffed on drivers, so you will always have to run routes, while doing your job! They give next to no training for anything that has to do with your job! The drivers, and pharmacies are allowed to speak to you in any manner they wish, and you are expected to deal with it. You have to use your own vehicle, and pay for your own gas, while they pay you a disrespectful 45 cents a mile for all the driving you do, which will barely cover your gas, and if your car breaks down the company will tell you to get a rental on your own dime, or lose your job! There is no work/home life balance at all! This job will literally consume your life leaving you barely any time to even sleep! No bonuses, incentives, no days off, no paid vacation, just a salary that’s nowhere near worth the amount of hours you will work, and what you’ll sacrifice and go through just trying to do a job for a company that will chew you up and spit you out with no care in the world!

SDS-rx are a bunch of thieves. They charge you $93 in fees every week! That equates to working for free one day a week. They are a joke. Then they want you to renegotiate your contract every 3 months or so, and if they can find somebody to do it cheaper, then you are replaced. It doesn't matter how long you been working for them or how good  of a contractor you are. The minute they find someone to do your route, even for $1 less, your gone!! (THEY BEEN RUNNING THIS AD ON INDEED FOR MONTHS  TRYING TO FIND REPLACEMENTS) The 2 owners and management are horrible. Their goal is to get every driver to bid against each other so they can hopefully get all the routes reduced. Drivers then don't talk to each other and moral is horrible. You never saw the owners or managers except when they wanted you to take a pay cut. Bottom line, your car gets 100,000 miles on it with nothing to show and then SDS replaces you with cheaper labor. You pay for all your gas and insurance and repairs. Your better off at McDonalds, at least you get to eat and have benefits!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The work is easy and the amount of compensation is good.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The inconsistent times for pickups when there are delays from the warehouse. Bad and inconsistent communication and feedback from management regarding the schedule and compensation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is good,but can become stressful due to coverage for routes. Management is lacking in communication to inform drivers necessities for their routes. Depending on your schedule you choose just getting prepared for your route overnight on a daily basis.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
If everything is going good according to schedule ,with good communication with the staff at each facility things can go well for that day.

This job is all about the particular route you get each day.  Different routes pay different and of course you want the most lucrative routes possible.  Logic says that the longer tenured drivers should have first refusal of those routes but that is not how it works.  You get what you are scheduled for and you will find out that newer drivers will get the better routes a good percentage of the time.  Communication is severly lacking.  Should you be reprimanded for not following some requirement, don't even begin to think that the lack of communication of that requirement from those in charge is a valid reason to push back.  No, those that should have given you the correct requirements to start with take absolutely ZERO responsibility in that area.  You are on your own to guess what they expect.  Good luck with that.

To contract with these people you must really be hard up to "work". They are at the definition of overworked and underpaid. The mileage, wear, tear, maintenance, and hours alone do not match to the pay. When you sign up you can tell it's a gimmick. When signing documents, you can not disagree on one the forms. Which leads to one deduction of several in your settlement. Typically you end up paying $35--$75 in deductions, which is absurd when you factor in your petroleum. Then they have stat runs, those are the best thing about this company, along with dispatchers, great communication from them.  You will come off better doing whatever your doing now, then get tangled up with these guys. If I didn't have responsibilities..

Constant turnover. Turnover rate for the company is 70%. Upper managment and owners will not and do not take critisim and will fire you for voicing your opinion and protecting your employees and trying to better their work enviroment. The only time upper management or the owners speak with the reps/dispatchers it's because their was an issue of some sort. Never do they call or write an email to compliment the staff for a job well done. Very disappointing, for a company that wants to change the company culture. I tried to explain a change in culture comes from the top down. I was told I was incorrect. It is proven that a change in culture comes from the top down.

I worked here for 6 months. The money was very nice, no taxes taken and what you drove milage wise was accurate for the 1099 form. Management is absolutely horrible. They want you to drive through snow storms, rain storms and wind storms, no matter how bad it is outside they expect you to take your route. You grind constantly through work days doing your job perfectly then the moment you need a day off or have car troubles they instantly threaten to replace you and outsource your contract to someone who will do it cheaper. This company absolutely is horrible. The job itself is very easy and pays well but that only last so long. They change your contract without your agreement, the pay is always wrong and communication is pretty much zero. You leave with a car with thousands of miles with nothing to show. I highly recommend staying away from this company.

When I went in for the dispatch /cs role with this company I thought great I’ll get a wonderful experience in nuc medicine dispatching I was totally wrong 1 was given  1 week worth of training then basically I was on my own while trying to get help from others and the pressure is put on you like this is life saving medication. There team leads have absolutely no leadership skills, they yell and disrespect the drivers, they can’t adequately cover runs, and demand runs are covered also you can’t be you have to say things exactly the way they tell you to I really feel under appreciate like nothing was ever good enough with my credentials I know with proper trainer and great leadership the would be an awesome opportunity but I didn’t last 60 days within the first 30 I wanted to quit at least 15 times
