i was a quality Assurance Technician at SK food group, my day would normally consist of checking product making sure all packages are equiped for shipment, keeping track of all records and product reports enforcing GMP's and following all SOP guidelines and Assuring others did so as well i learned a lot from this company in forms of quality, my co workers were fair, some nicer than others, although i did not agree so much with upper management and some of the decisions that were being made, some people felt as if they didn't have to respect anyone below their pay grade, the hardest part of this job was dealing with critical situations, while making decisions not only for the best interest of the company and policy, but to attempt to meet others needs and expectations as well, while performing hourly duties, such as data collecting, data entry, checking all critical control points such as product temperature before it runs through the nitrogen tunnel, and after nitrogen tunnel, as well as testing metal detectors on hourly basis, all while working with my QA team to monitor lower level warehouse associates, on there performance and coach them on more Quality efficient techniques. the most enjoyable part of this job was being in a position of power, and setting an example on how this great power should be properly excuted, with responsibilty and patience and understanding, Having this position really showed me what it means to be a leader.

The time I have spent at this company I have seen a lot management quitting new managers coming in pack techs quitting, pay is not what SK says it is they say pack techs make up to 25.00$ an hr you will be lucky to get 17.00$ an hr.  You are way over worked for very little pay you have a attendance point system if you miss to much work you are terminated for including if you must call out for family emergencies I.e child in hospital or anything of that sort the people that work here are great people the systems in place are terrible management is unappreciative and show favoritism towards some people.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The insurance is decent. That’s about it!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication. Being misled, misinformed, and given a false sense of hope. You will be straight up lied to! They will tell you what you want to hear in order to keep you happy and keep you working. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is COLD. As far as the culture goes, management and HR lacks good morals and integrity. “Whatever It Takes”… That’s “The SK Way”!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day starts out cold, and ends cold and stressed.

If you ever wanted to relive highschool as an adult, this is the place for you. Favoritism runs rampant due to management having family or friends in so many key positions. This causes an ideology of you're either "in the click (family)" or your not, going around the whole facility. Instead of bettering the facility as a whole, the majority is more interested in figuring out who's dating who and who's cheating on who. Upper management always seems to look past all the blatant fraternization right in their face. It's almost as if they are in on it... There's some genuinely good people there but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack so goodluck.

I was treated ok the first week and then after that I was not given proper training. I was left to work on the machines they put me on without enough workers on the line. Machine breakdowns were constant and always blamed on me when it was the fact that the machines were not proper be worked on by the matainence staff at the company. I was called stupid white boy and white trash by fellow employees and when I brought this to the supervisors or managements attention nothings was done. I was told on numerous occasions that I was not going to be a permanent employee of the company by supervisors because I was not their kind.

What I believe I learned an SK customized sandwich duty description , often categorized as a Production Line Worker or Assembly handcrafted sandwiches continuously on a moving conveyor belt to precise customer specifications. The most enjoyable part of the job workplace I enjoy meeting a new friends and same culture , they are friendly and family oriented. The hardest part of the job favoritism , false point handed out to whomever they don't like, no core values, zero communications.

I wish I could give you the full story on when I worked, but indeed's review system is preventing me. It keeps telling me my review contains inappropriate language, but I didn't use any curse words or derogatory words, so IDK what the deal is.

Basically, the pay and benefits are solid, but the management is WOEFULLY inept and worse. I had a whole 4,000 plus character review typed up, but indeed doesn't like it. 

If you sign on at SK, be prepared to suffer some truly awful management. You wouldn't believe some of things that I saw happen there and experienced.

Fun Job. Good Work Routine. Learn work pace on every possition youre in a good place to work!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Majority of supervisors are cooperative. Only a few are not so cooperative.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I met a lot of great people there. Multicultural work environment! Love it!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I like 1st shift. You get your own locker. Very clean prep before getting to line production.Start at 5:30am & out at 2pm. and enjoy the rest of the day!

The workplace is very cold.  Most of the employees are friendly, they want a paycheck but do not want to work for it.  Employees are mostly Fillipinos and Mexicans.  Leads are Fillipinos and Mexican.  There is a lot of favoritism to their own people and friends.  The very productive employees never receive recognition and the pay rate is the same for the new people and those with 4+ years.  This job has a lot of workplace injuries due to its the repetitive duties and they usually try to get you to quit by threatening termination.

Working in a freezer ,putting together sandwiches down on a fast moving line with a group of people putting the sandwiches together and the part is the cold makes your nose runs and you can't just stop what you are doing because it will disturb the fast move lines. So you will let your nose run down your lips or let it drop down your nose. And what are you putting together. Eat able food with your nose in it. I had a solution for that but the haters made sure not to let me wear my cloth mask to catch the drops from my nose. And the washera room is hot and then freezing cold. Freeze.
