My ratings are based on comparison with dozens of jobs, settings, bosses, etc. Keeping in mind that I can only speak for my specific location, working at Samaritan has been a rewarding challenge, a blessing. I was struck by the approachable and friendly staff who offered help right away. We laugh a lot and give mutual support. The place was very clean and organized, offices are nice, staff selected their wall colors. Despite not being up to speed with methadone modality, I was given a chance to learn the job, and a lot of training and feedback until I finally got it. The Directors are very knowledgeable, know their business; I still learn a lot from them over 3  years later. There  is patience but also strong demands dictated by a fast pace environment. Like anywhere else, while some patients are rude, others are easy to work with. Offices are protected from COVID  with plexiglass dividers and portable air filters. You get masks and cleaning supplies beyond hand cleaners. Human Resources are constantly finding ways to give support via training, information, benefit reminders, etc. You get rewarded for good work in one way or another A lot of lunches throughout the year. Organization wise, as huge as it is, they got it together (for those who notice these kinds of things). They clearly look out for us. Although I'm past retirement age, they make it hard for me to leave. 

I did this review because credit should be given when deserved and I want to give back for the opportunities given to me. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I honestly stayed as long as I did because of my vibe with certain coworkers. The pay-rates don’t compensate for the amount of work they expect from you. I also think the company needs to do thorough mental health evaluation on the staff they hire, because something isn’t clicking mentally with a lot of new hires. I believe everyone should be given an opportunity, however hiring young people fresh out of school doesn’t benefit the company, especially when there is no time to properly train them. I liked my PD , I just didn’t agree with certain things that went on in the building. My APD had his hands full from day one!  It’s like he had to be the  ‘OBAMA’ of Clermont and come clean up the mess. Overall, the experience was interesting. I credit myself on absorbing as much knowledge as I could in an environment that does not set you up for success. This company will be a revolving door for many people. My advice is give yourself a year and move on to a more professional, mature, and healthy work environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The reality show drama between co-workers and staff and clients.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic! Stay as neutral as you can and absorb as much information as you can. The company does not look out for the best interests of their employees.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Doing my work and trying to remain neutral in a divided work environment. Dealing with clients who seem totally disinterested in bettering themselves.

I start my work day at 9:00 AM and immediately check my emails for any reports from operations staff regarding my clients from the previous night. They keep a record of clients breaking 9:00 PM curfew and other rules and regulations.Then I review my planner to view the names of clients I scheduled to complete the week's independent living plan. I proceed to take out the chart of the first client scheduled and place it on my desk. I keep the chart within reach to file any document I may have requested from the client. I did not grow professionally at this job, everything I know I learned in previous jobs. It allows me to work independently.The workplace culture is tense, unfriendly and full of gossiping. The hardest part of the job is tending to my clients' needs during crisis intervention while sharing my office space with another coworker. Clients usually don't want other workers to know their business making them stop sharing their stories with me. It is hard to complete tasks timely when are talking loud in the background. The most enjoyable part of the job is when my clients become stable through their hard work and eventually move out.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The diversity of our clients, the fast pace, and the job dynamics. The trips and various activities. Also, facilitating groups and individual sessions.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes, commotion and incidents happen among the clients. However, there is always adequate support. This usually deters you from following your daily routine and agenda.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is quite diverse, and there is complete acceptance, which makes clients and staff safe and included.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It starts with a morning huddle to make sure you know what needs to be covered in case a staff member has called out. Then, you can just move on to the instructions passed and follow the details of the day. I enjoyed working at the agency, the fast-moving pace, and the lack of dull moments. However, setting priorities is crucial in working in the facility.

Work-life balance
Confusing. Meaning you get hired for one position but they will make you feel you have to do every position and yours within 7 hours and dont want to pay overtime. Management never take blame for what they do wrong. Will blame their staff to cover themselves. They dont accept advice from staff. Petty and full of vengeance. Management power trips and try to use what you want against you to get what they want you to do (ie:vacation time).

Pay & benefits
Management holds a raise over your head and tell you its up to the supervisor. They also say DHS doesn't want to give the raise

Job security and advancement
The management team hire you at your interview but don't like you at the office they will pick to fire you. Career growth is possible however management team must like you.

Management
Just too much to say. Bottom line you are over worked and under paid

Culture
You are not able to make your own decisions. Management feel they control you and you must do what they say.

Overall
So over them. Just waiting to find another job. I would never refer someone to this type of behavior. Management need alot of training. Stop hiring young immature people

Samaritan presents itself as an organization that prioritizes and advocates for its clients. However, my experience raised concerns about leadership and operational effectiveness at the site where I was assigned, an annex location on 53rd Street.

The Assistant Program Director appeared to have limited knowledge of key job responsibilities, and there seemed to be a lack of clear security procedures and structure. Additionally, the Director of Operations spent much of the time in the office and was not actively engaged with clients or providing adequate oversight of operations staff.

Management often demonstrated a lack of professionalism and was not receptive to constructive feedback or accountability. Employees who raised concerns about operational shortcomings or attempted to hold leadership accountable appeared to face negative consequences. Overall, the work environment lacked transparency, effective leadership, and open communication. And the employee turn around rate is HIGH! 

This job is definitely for people straight out of college who want to get some experience and make a salary while still living at home. It does not require two years of experience, with practice anyone can get this job down.  Once you know your job the tasks become routine. The management is the biggest problem here. There is a lot of favoritism although they denied it and speaking up with an opinion against collective management means a chart review and a hard look into your caseload. So before you speak up make sure all your work is done. You can learn things but there is for sure a cap on how high you can go, the care coordinators don't seem to be moving soon. The staff is laughable most of them don't know what they are doing and they are learning with management because of all the changes they say are coming from the state. The problem with that? Not all health homes are doing that too so it seems fictional. Overall don't linger here, if you must get the experience and move on a year tops, BYE!

Don't Bother the money is not worth the headache and time off of your life.  *Poor Management. *No PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. *NO SUPPORT from *HR for complaints, they belittle and minimize your concerns. *Low rung staff members that are immature and petty. Many staff members are from programs like the one's hosted by samaritan who haven't changed their minds but dressed up on the outside. *They do the residents and families a GRAVE disservice by the poor quality workers who seem more concerned with NUMBERS than the vulnerable families they serve as instructed by the PROGRAM DIRECTOR.  *Most Managers are looking for career advancement and THROW THE FAMILIES to the wolves or they are taking up space and are useless to the programs or families. *Education does not equate to class, professionalism or integrity. *HORRIBLE place to work even for a short time. *AMBIGUITY in working environment.*LOW PAY TOO MUCH WORK. I am so happy i got out of there, worst time of my life, GOOD RIDDENS!

Had interview with DON very nice relaxing experience with her and welcoming. Didn’t hear back from them though for two weeks later . And greeted by nasty and unprofessional delisa in HR recuroter  I was told during the interview how much I was looking for I told DON 29-30 hr she said that doable . And HR  said only could give me 28 hr. And I informed her I had been offered another position so I could not do the 12 hr shift on weekend that I originally said I could do she got nasty with me and was like that what you said and I said I applied at different jobs and they responded back first I offered to do 6-2pm every weekend and some evening she was like that’s not what we agreed aprons . Also telling me I need to let her know today. Needless to say never called back didn’t take position. Also they want one nurse to med pass 130 clients unsafe practices and very rude HR department maybe that why you can’t get or keep nurses just saying. 

Help, guiding and assisting young addicted mothers with children learn a better way of living.  Provided clients with funds to achieve goals such as obtaining work and/or training, medical appointment and court appearances.  Answering calls from outside entities such as Administration of Children Services (ACS), Human Resource Administration (HRA), and any of  the state courts. Management is very hands on with assisting with daily functions of the facility.  The hardest part of the job is seeing children being removed from their mothers that could not remain abstinent from all illicit substances.  The most enjoyable part of the is the success rate of mothers returning back into the community and living life on life terms and maintaining custody of their children.
