Very unhappy employees with unneeded drama, friendships with management interfered and was very apparent and spoke upon by many. Friends with personal relationships outside of work received perks that included scheduling, overtime and accountability for behavior and or mistakes. Thus made clicks within also very apparent and made for a hostile environment. Unfortunately the hard workers get no positive reinforcement or recognition. The happy and hard workers with positive attitudes are frond upon and treated poorly. There is always conflict with ER Doctors and nurses versus Rapid care PA's and nurses. Typical day is overworked very stressful and at times hostile due to the way people get treated. The best part of working there is that I met some amazing, caring, hard working people who have helped keep the hospital relevant and running. I also learned more skills that I will take and use in my nursing career. I also learned more patience, a lot of politics, and that I wont let a few bad apples and negativity effect my honesty, integrity, excellent customer service and love for my career.

San Gorgonio is a small rural hospital located in Banning, California. I work on the critical care unit and I really enjoy the small unit setting. The organization has a lot of potential for growth and development, but it does have a long way to go. The pay is average, although many nurses say that the pay rate is low compared to surrounding hospitals. We need stronger management personnel and leaders, but the ones we have work very hard and truly care about patients and the community. The work environment is toxic, but I do not let the environment define me or my performance as a professional. Employee morale is low because of the issues with scheduling, communication, lack of clarity regarding training and policies/procedures, etc. The hardest part of the job for me is the shift that I work and being placed on call very often due to low patient census. The most enjoyable part of my job is providing good care to patients and families.

Company is small, so has a family feel to it. Which can be good or bad, depending on your outlook on life. Disciplinary actions are one-sided and unfair, and there is no nursing union, so it's your word against theirs. Your PTO accrual is about 6 hours every 2 weeks (for new hire nurses), but they use your PTO account to pay for holidays. You don't start accruing until 90 days, so good luck if you get hired in the summer, because what you eventually accrue gets taken for the holiday season.

Very strong doctor-nurse old-fashioned hierarchy. Difficult to practice as an autonomous nurse. Minimal opportunity to advance due to the small size and the fact that managers have been there for 15-20 years or more. 

Overall, low stress and I made good friends. But it wouldn't be my first choice on a list of jobs.

This is a great place to work with a positive and welcoming environment. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that people genuinely care about what they do and about each other. The team is friendly, supportive, and easy to work with, which makes everyday tasks more enjoyable and less stressful. Communication is open, and everyone is willing to help when needed, creating a strong sense of teamwork. Management is approachable and shows appreciation for employees’ efforts, which makes a big difference in morale. Another highlight is the many perks offered, especially during the holidays. These perks help employees feel valued and recognized for their hard work throughout the year. Overall, the workplace culture is encouraging, respectful, and motivating. It’s a place where you can feel comfortable, grow professionally, and enjoy coming to work each day.

No micromanagement . Hi levels of professionalism. Great perks and excellent benefits 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Employees have it so good they act spoiled in my opinion. Especially the ones who have been there a long time. Always want something for nothing

I noticed alot of favoritism and jealousy that needs to be improved on. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Maintenance is very lax. Until emergencies come up. I feel maintenance has too many people on the team. Waist of hospital money

Some of the people are a real joy to work while others are not so much. You definitely have to be friends with the right people or kiss the right behind to be treated fairly. Be careful what you say and how you say and who you say it to because it will be twisted and used against you. There is a great deal of favoritism that goes on in every department. The business office is one of the worst places they do anything they want. There is so much drama I'm not sure if I am at work or back in high school most days. The most enjoyable part of the day is when I get to leave.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people I worked with. Also, I felt the wage and benefits were very good, especially for a small hospital.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Short staffing. I got called into work far more often than I expected and had to work a lot of overtime.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was far more employee friendly a few years ago. Recently the culture became more “woke.”

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I no longer work there. I’m retired now.

This lovely little hospital has come a LONG way in the 7 years that I have been here.   When I started there was no money but that has all changed.  I am not saying that there is money to burn as they are mindful of expenses as any good business, but the perks have really improved as well as the salary rates.  The benefits are great, very reasonably priced and the current match on the 403B  Retirement plan is awesome!  The staff has always been very friendly and supportive and they really care about what they are doing to support the patients in this community.

I love that the hospital is a smaller community, most of the staff have been there for 10+ years and know each other, from all departments. The ICU has a lot of hard working people who all work well together. The pay is much lower than other hospitals in the surrounding cities. They have recently been taken over by Tenet and it’s not looking good- budget cuts, people being suddenly demoted and fired, restructuring… Overall, chill work environment, supportive director of the ICU, great place to begin or end your nursing career

I enjoyed the team in Radiology that I worked with. All where extremely professional and knowledgeable in their field of expertise. The equipment in radiology was really nothing exciting or up to date. Old equipment but the staff knew how to handle it and keep up with the workflow.
