As with any company there are always going to be favorites. But I have never worked for a company that makes it so well known who is the favorite. People get promoted and they dont do a good job. There is this person that got promoted because they was a favorite and what's worst they know they is doing a bad job but they leave her there. They talk to people in a demeaning way. Everyone sees it. And some managers get left off of meetings and we can see it. 
Another disappointment is some managers/directors/chiefs dont want to take the time to mentor their staff because they lose patience.
And I have never worked for a company where the chief compliance officer is allowed to sit in a room with the CEO and it is okay for the chief compliance officer to use foul language to the upper management and the CEO didn't do anything. That is verbal abuse right there. People are afraid to voice their opinions because of retaliation. 
And some managers/supervisors dont get offices because they dont have direct reports. I've never heard of that bs before, that is an insult. Obviously they are not favorites. Everybody sees whatz happening. It's clear that some are being pushed to the top and some should be the ones but are purposely being set up for failure. 
I know someone from every department looking for jobs and that's sad.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Mostly kind people who just want to help the community served by SCFHP: low-income Medi-Cal and Medicare members.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor direct manager (young, inexperienced, and afraid to admit it) and equally inexperienced upper management in the department so poor guidance and lots of nonsense.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Within this department management is inexperienced and overwhelmed. So many under their poor management rarely get work done on time and never to any level of excellence. Too many competing priorities, plus too much focus on doing the minimum, never the best.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Way too many meetings where no one wants to talk or contribute. Seldom look at anything new or innovative. Very plodding. Lousy department managers set the tone.

When offered position and mentioned possibly working from home. It’s not mentioned in your interview you must not have any written action plans against you and your metrics must meet company standards. The training process is poor. Management team lacks supporting their team. Management focuses on meetings throughout the day amongst themselves. When the customer service floor is in need of assistance. When reaching out for help, there are some supervisors who will detour you instead of assisting you. Management team, some shows incompetence. The environment in the office is toxic and the workers from what I observed seemed miserable. The day I left this company was the best decision I ever made. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working for this company was a delight and wish I could have stayed, whoever; I was only a temp and was contract. Hope to work with them again in the future.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There was no real stress per say. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very open, all about the employee, how to work as a team. You have a voice and our input is appreciated. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Team huddle in the AM got over all projects for the day. Then we work projects as best we can with the information that has been provided.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great benefit including health, dental and vision insurances

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Micromanagement. Management doesn’t understand the life balance. Can’t even take PTO for urgent issue. Usually get denied for submitting PTO and they kept asking to use sick leave even though submitting the request in advance. They even take attendance point off when I have doctor  note after being at ER

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy. Overload and micromanaging

My day started with a meeting with the CEO on the development of a new program for "Healthy Families "state program. This organization worked inconjunction with the state funded program. This was the beginning of "managed Care".
My Manage was a fun loving person but seem to favor the men on our team. My co-works were very smart and vocal.
The hardest part was again the traveling to meetings in Oakland ,San Francisco.
The enjoyable part was networking with others and with my peers.

I can only speak for my department Marketing.  Great people to work with.  Enjoyed the teamwork and how we worked well together.  Great Managers and always an opportunity to do help one another.  We all worked together to achieve our goals.

Micromanaged environment and strict rules with little to no freedom. Managers would send you calls if they felt you weren't doing enough work. Strict rules like your 'away from desk' time had to be under 8% which is incredibly unreasonable. I had an amazing supervisor but overall this was not a great place to work. 

It depends on your manager and the dept. you are in but I've been on the lucky end to have a flexible, caring manager and a good dept. Most people care about the members they serve. 

I enjoy interacting with my department. We assist each other and have good understanding of each others job duties. Department managers has great communication with the team and provides guidance on how the department is doing and areas of improvement.
