Unfortunately, this company will promise career growth but will likely under deliver. For the last couple of years there have been quarterly layoffs with the highest performing employees being let-go. 

Management is very unprofessional. The majority of the workload is put on a small group of workers while management tries their best to skirt responsibility for serious issues. 

Internal promotions are almost always given to friends/family of existing management rather than the most qualified individuals on the staff. This has created a frat-like culture where the goal is to see who can do the least amount of work. Expect to be worked to your breaking point as management knows there is high-turnover and do nothing to address it. 

There is no help getting situated after the first day with HR. No intro's, no training, no "hey you may need this.... you are on your own. They work in silo's, manager don't know how to communicate and keep information flowing to the people who work for them. Lots and lots of meetings just for a small piece of info so you can do your job. 
Lots of waisted time and money. 
No one is driving the ship. They change course every few months and people aren't made aware of the changes.
Lots of fire drills. Expensive fire drills. Stupid mistakes.

Love the people I work with. 

A typical day at work involved providing top-notch remote technical support, utilizing extensive documentation and collaborating with a supportive team. I learned the art of empathetic communication and efficient problem-solving. Management offered clear direction through remote channels. The workplace culture was focused on excellence and fostering teamwork. The most challenging part was handling difficult customer interactions. The most enjoyable part was mentoring junior team members and achieving customer satisfaction.

Savant was an amazing company to work for until financial issues occurred for the company and a lot of  fantastic people were laid off.  The Technical Assistance Center was an amazing place to be, mentor based training and a lot of team work. The company invested in a failed project by a previous CEO and leading to the financial issues resulting in lay offs. The Current CEO returned from his retirement to save what was let of the company. I would say the hardest part of the job was leaving because it was an amazing place to be. I will miss Savant and the employees vey much.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Savant has a very good product and the people are great.  They just haven't been able to grab any real share of the market.  Currently they are focused on so many things that they just arent successful at any of them.  Their history and what seems like their MO is hiring good people and having to do layoffs.  Once they get things figured out it will be a great place to work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The biggest challenge working their is the constant fear of layoffs.  They would rather exit people than work to build and develop success.

The owner is always thinking of new innovative ideas but leaves past products with little support. Frustrating with all the different goals and products that can change on a whim creating issues with your dealer base.

They think they are awesome when in fact have some deficiencies and very much a click among ownership and friends from a past company. Decisions are made from the top up with little chance to hear out workers in the trenches. Hopeful that has improved overtime.

No job security due to multiple layoffs within the last few years. Unrealistic expectations and deadlines are left for the remaining employees. Morale is at an all time low across departments. Execs and sales is overly focused on the newest big thing  in home automation they can sell without working to improve the current product lines or customer relationships. 

It was a great experience getting to train and be on the QA team at Savant. I enjoyed working remotely and there were immediate benefits offered to me without a probationary period. I learned a lot about Linux and MacOS as well as basic scripting and coding. Only downside is their product offering is often times overly complex, and lacks a simple core working user experience. I feel if they limited themselves, they would counter intuitively grow as a company. 

Company develops interesting products with various technologies but requires a great deal from employees.   I just finished a stint of nine days straight without a day off to meet a set of deadlines.   Company keeps to too aggressive development schedules to allow employees down time.

Very busy and intense work days.
I learned about the company and the product it sells.
Management overall was acceptable.
Culturally there was effort to provide fun activities for employees.
The hardest part of the job was trying to keep up with work volume.
There was little or no advancement available for women in a support role.
