Do yourself a favor and keep looking for a job that will appreciate you and what you do. This was a nice place to work a few years ago then the management changed and it's gone downhill every since! Do not trust any of the management team. They do not care about you and will throw you under the bus to cover their own butts!! 

The pay sucks, they waste your time in pointless daily meetings when you could be out in the field helping your clients. That's not to say a once weekly team meeting isn't necessary, it is, but not an hour every morning out of your all ready hectic schedule. 

Their goal is to keep the money coming in and not necessarily that which is beneficial to the client. 

And their on call system is ridiculous and unrealistic and dangerous to the nurse having to take call on evenings and weekends after all ready working a long hard shift.

I learned fast to expect the unexpected every day I came to work, because things can go from good to bad in seconds. I also learned lots of other interesting things, by assisting doctors, and nurses with procedures like administering a catheter, performing an I and D, assisting with placing an ng tube, etc. The management was great and tried to work with you if any way they could. My co-workers were amazing, helpful, hard working people and a pleasure to work with. The hardest part of my job was knowing I assisted in doing everything I could to save a persons life and not being able to save them, and to see the hurt in their families eyes. On the other hand the part I loved most of my job was making a difference in someone's life to help them recover from their sickness and be able to be discharged from the hospital, and make new friends.

I work in a small hospital that has always been focused on competent and compassionate patient care. The average day consists of a 12 hour shift and taking care of critically acute patients, along with being charge nurse of the 7 bed unit. I am usually working with new nurses and I enjoy teaching them about critical care. Probably the hardest part of my job is not getting to work in a larger ICU where I am more comfortable. The management is also a concern, very high turn over rate the last couple of years. I don't really know how committed they are to the staff because they never stay long enough to know! Otherwise I am content, but feel that I have more to offer and would like to go back to the larger setting of a trauma/teaching hospital.

This is an office environment position in which I assisted the administration in the Urgent Care. I filed patients charts along with transferring information from paper to computer using specialized programs for the hospital. Management was great and would give me what they wanted me to do without very little directions as I didn't need much. The tasks were simple but tedious. Everyone there was super friendly and would call me when they needed assistance with something or running quick errands. The hardest part of the job was understanding medical terms but became easier everyday. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with great people.

Scotland is a family like place to work at. Everyone is treated like family, I had to go on leave and everyone helped me out as if we were family. They sent money, cards, they always gave me motivation and pep talks when I went in for treatment or just going there for something. That treatment was from all the way from the top position to the bottom. They give their employees a lot of support.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone says good morning and the best orange cranberry muffins on the planet!  The Human Resources staff is the friendliest of all !

It’s a stress anywhere you work make the most of it ! Getting time off even when top importance! 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Cultural is Indian heritage and they are GOD fearing and great cooks and super nice ! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy busy and my drive there was long .But worth it to learn new things .

mostly I work weekend when I do that job I go in start serving breakfast. keep my line looking up then I prep for things that need to be done the next day example muffins  and me and the cashier will stock our outtakes Jello parfaits and etc. after everything gets done from baking cookies to cutting sausages while customers are still coming in. clean everything that needs to be clean because weekday they don't get to it so I do my best to get it done and make labels and sign sheets about what I did. of course all that gets done the duration of the day between lunch too.

A typical at work would involve going to your patients home to provide personal care, and other assistance as needed. I learned how pointless my complaints were compared to the patients and families in hospice that depended on you to provide comfort and support in a patients last days. The hardest part of the job was getting attached to the patients, and they past. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to bring a little comfort to someone in need.

this facility attempts to stay within national guidelines, with moderate support. Not perfect but perfection for any health care agency/facility is hard to obtain. I saw a lot of disorganization as far as the layout of the hospital, supplies and pharmacy floor access seemed to take away from quality patient care. Daily phone conversations about needing these items was an issue. Often hunting items on other units. It left me somewhat frustrated and often required me to leave later than my shift.

I've worked at Scotland Memorial Hospital for over ten years.  The job can be fast-pace, The management are wonderful they listen to what you have to say!  But the hardest part of my job is not having enough time to complete my job because it's fast pace.. You have to mult-skilled  task quickly and completely.... Thinking clearly and quickly ....But I enjoy my job... I've learned many procedures over the years...But all I've enjoyed my many year at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
