I regret to express my disappointment with my time at Segra. My journey within the company has been marked by a notable absence of training and advancement opportunities. Regrettably, these issues are compounded by a failure to uphold the very principles that the company purports to embody. Additionally, the dearth of effective leadership within the organization has further exacerbated these concerns.

One of the most glaring shortcomings during my tenure was the lack of proper training. Despite an eagerness to contribute and grow, I found myself grappling with a deficiency in guidance and support. The absence of a structured training program hindered my ability to reach my full potential and, as a result, dampened my overall job satisfaction.

Moreover, the promised opportunities for upward mobility within the company were disappointingly elusive. Despite my dedication and commitment, the avenues for advancement seemed to be few and far between. This lack of progression not only hindered my personal growth but also cast doubt on the company's dedication to nurturing its employees' potential.

Equally concerning was the apparent disregard for the company's stated principles. It was disheartening to witness instances where these principles were not upheld in day-to-day operations. This misalignment between rhetoric and action eroded trust and made it difficult to believe in the company's purported values.

A critical factor in any successful organization is effective leadership, which was notably absent in my experience here. The lack of clear direction and guidance from leadership had a tangible impact on team morale and overall productivity. This vacuum of leadership left employees feeling adrift and uncertain about the company's trajectory. My time at has regrettably been defined by the absence of training, a dearth of upward mobility, a disconnect between principles and actions, and a lack of strong leadership. These issues have had a significant impact on my job satisfaction and professional growth. It is my hope that my feedback can contribute to positive changes within the company, fostering an environment where employees can thrive and truly align with the organization's values.


Keep in mind that a cable company COX recently acquired this company. Those with industry experience understand that statement. 

Your success as an outside sales rep at this company will be entirely based on your relationship with your manager. If you’re lucky you’ll be given large accounts or RFP’s to work on and will be celebrated as if you had anything to do with the revenue. Otherwise, you’ll most likely burn out and leave as is happening to the majority of hunters at SEGRA. 

Account manager/strategic account manager is by far the best position in this entire company. Could train a dog to do that job but unfortunately upper management doesn’t pay attention enough to notice. Most of them have never held their positions at a major company before and it shows. 

SEGRA is not a terrible company, but if you can wait a year before applying that will help you tremendously because the culture that Cox is trying to replicate at SEGRA isn’t working. Changes will be made at the senior levels which will help exponentially. Good luck. 

I was promised the world when hired, and when I got there there was 0 opportunity.  4 hunters in the same area with no defined territories bumping into each other while calling on the same prospects.  They straight up over hired and tried to act like there was underperformance all while our superiors admitted there were too many of us and that the math didn’t add up.  The metrics and quota were impossible with the number of reps at the time.  Not long into the job, they let 10% of the sales force go…VP was let go, the COO left, the CMRO left, and the company became an entirely different place.  It became the kindergarten of sales, and I knew my days were numbered.  Tenured reps started jumping ship.  Toxic culture and constant anxiety wondering when my time was going to come.  I should have never taken the job, as it has knocked me back in my career unfortunately.  Keeping it positive though….Soldier on!

Overall, my experience working at Segra was a good one. The company offers solid benefits and competitive bonuses, which shows a genuine investment in employees. The work environment was fast paced and provided opportunities to learn, grow, and develop professionally, especially within sales support and operations.

That said, there are areas where improvement is needed. Some managers would benefit from additional managerial training and leadership experience to better support their teams. At times, there was also a noticeable lack of communication between departments, which could create delays or confusion in workflows that require cross-functional collaboration.

Despite these challenges, Segra is a company with strong potential, good people, and a foundation that supports career growth. With improved communication and stronger leadership development, the overall employee experience could be even better

The level of favoritism and cronyism is surreal. This is a Company "Where Friends Can Get Friends Hired Off The Street And Into Leadership Roles With No Experience Whatsoever" (Over Much More Qualified, Dedicated Employees). The Management Team is definitely terrible and most of them have no idea what they are doing. None of them can actually do the job themselves. The workplace culture is definitely a toxic one. They really do not value good employees. Most of the great Analysts that trained me and taught me everything I know now were ran off or fired.

The hardest part of the job was seeing good employees get used and burned out by the endless Management Level turnover and it started at the highest levels. The most enjoyable part were the new friends I made. 

Ownership and management do not like to communicate to staff about work requirements. 
There is no training model established, and the potential raise you can get after your training period isn’t immediate, nor do they tell you about that. 
Upper management refuses to admit fault when they do something wrong or spread misinformation. 
High level management is all related and no one will reach that high unless you can marry into the family. 
They promote people with zero experience into a role they are ill-fit for. 
There are double standards all throughout the company that certain people are held to and others aren’t. 
The work is easy, the people will make you want to leave immediately. Don’t work here

My typical day consists of trying to keep the customer accounts assigned to me happy. I make sure that they are happy with their services and all of their needs are met. One of the biggest issues I am having lately is with our support team. The management in that area seem to be running off all of the good, knowledgeable people who could help us keep our customers happy for people that have no idea what they are doing at all. It's very frustrating. The workplace culture is becoming very disturbing and disappointing to say the least. 

The hardest part of the job is listening to my customer's frustrations and not being able to do anything about it. The most enjoyable part of the job is hearing a satisfied customer. 

This is a good ole boy system ran company. It is full of favoritism and cronyism. Employees are definitely overworked and underpaid based on market rates. The Management Team is terrible and most of them have no idea what they are doing. None of them can actually do the job themselves. The workplace culture is definitely a toxic one and I would stay away from this company by all means. They do not value good employees.

Segra beats its employees in the ground to do more and more everyday. You will do 3 employees job compared to 1 at another company.  A 3% cost of living raise every year or less.  No other monetary compensation will come. Most employees are salary and work a minimum of 60 plus hours. This company was not always like this, most employees feel trapped because they have been at the company so long and have gotten stuck in the everyday grind.  Segra wants more and more for the bottom line because it needs to feed the investment firm that mostly owns them.  They give Segra money and then in expect huge gains in returns, this comes at the expense of the employees. This company will be sold in less than 5 years.  It was bought by EQT only to sell in short time in the future

The Clique is centered in SC and the people are treated exponentially better and given perks and assistance that are not offered anywhere else. There is a culture of entitlement for SC employees that makes it hard to have a good attitude and excitement about your job. 

Executive management preaches a culture of flexibility and respect but front line managers have their "favorites" and it is grossly obvious that the favorites all reside in SC.

If you are in SC - go for it, you will be treated great. If you are outside of SC - keep looking.
